Foxtail Championship – Rules and OB Description
General rules
· Property line and beyond is OB everywhere.
· ‘Normal OB Rules apply’ means last place in-bounds.
· Metal stakes and white flags define OB line when present.
· Use group consensus if line isn’t clear, benefit to the player. Use provisional if necessary.
· ‘Optional DZ’ means player’s lie is limited to either normal OB rules, DZ, or previous lie.
· Players may clear rocks/sticks/ other debris from anywhere behind their lie within their allotted shot time.
1. Teeing area is OB. First fairway: OB tall grass short, left, and long, OB fence line right. 2-meter relief from barbed wire. Path to 18 is OB (line is between stakes). Second Fairway: OB tall grass short, left, and long. OB Creek on right, as defined by stakes. Optional Drop Zone in first fairway for shots that do not clear OB on tee shot. Optional Drop Zone in second fairway for shots from first fairway that end OB.
2. Hole 2 - Island Green: An initial throw beyond the inbounds fairway, defined by stakes/wall/bridge must come to rest on the Island Green to be able to mark on the Island Green (this rule still applies if the initial throw is abandoned). If the throw comes to rest OB, the next throw is from the Drop Zone with a penalty throw. All throws made from the Drop Zone or the Island Green itself use normal OB rules. The rocks themselves are the line and are therefore OB.
3. OB tall grass right and long, defined by stakes. Path to 4 is NOT safe, connect line between stakes. OB garden area short and left of basket, defined by stakes.
4. OB tall grass right and left. Where OB line on right meets property line the property line then becomes OB. 2-meter relief from barbed wire. OB in or across creek, defined by stakes/wall/bridge. Where creek is unmarked use group consensus with strong benefit to player.
5. OB tall grass right, defined by stakes. OB creek and beyond, defined by stakes where present.
6. OB tall grass right and left, defined by stakes.
7. Teeing area is OB. Stakes define inbounds area, generally on tall grass line. Optional DZ in bounds just past gap. OB creek and beyond, defined by stakes.
8. No OB.
9. OB Property Line and beyond.
10. OB fence line and beyond. 2-meter relief from barbed wire. DO NOT ENTER neighbor’s property to retrieve discs. Please inform TD who will ensure disc is returned to you.
11. OB Property Line and beyond. 2-meter relief from barbed wire.
12. OB Property Line and beyond. 2-meter relief from barbed wire.
13. No OB.
14. No OB. If disc comes to rest on rocks at the edge of plateau, must take lateral relief onto fairway (where there is dirt or grass) at first safe lie. Please use caution if your disc goes below the basket.
15. Optional DZ located in woods near the clearing for lost discs. Tall grass left, long, and right OB, defined by flags.
16. OB flags and beyond. Optional DZ near old 16 teeing area.
17. OB right, defined by flags.
