You’re also keeping 50% of the “charity raffle” money… it just seems disingenuous to call it a charity raffle but not donate it to a charity besides yourself. Is DG1 a charity? Obviously you can, and have quite successfully, run events this way for way longer than I’ve even played disc golf. Maybe I’m the only one that takes issue with it. But it seems like more of a money grab than a way of offsetting costs.

This event has gone completely down hill, I have been playing it for the last 10 years and with. The last 4-5 years this event is gone from my favorite to one that I hate, I will not be playing it again after this year, the players pack is not anywhere near with the value we pay, it’s a bunch of useless junk stamped with their company so it’s just free advertising for them, they have sponsors who help out with this event so there is no reason they should take anyway from the CTP and raffle money. Like you said it has turned into a money grab, I’m extremely upset with how this event has turned out….

Mark, I see where you are coming from. The raffle was listed as 50/50 on the registration settings but mistakenly promoted as “Charity” under the “About This Tournament” section. With that being said, I agree that this is miss representing the intent on raising the funds. We originally did the raffle as 100 percent payout in merchandise, allowing DG1 to ‘grab money’. Upon reflection we felt the community would rather get CASH instead of merchandise, splitting it with DG1.
