Let's try this one more time....I apologize for not getting the player email out yesterday. I hurriedly tried to send out the email this morning at a tennis tournament, and I left out some info.
Parking tomorrow will be on the grass. I will have the gate opened up. There is a bathroom on site. No running water.
I would plan on bringing a lunch. The closest option is a gas station in Manchester (5 minutes away) that has some options. Lawrenceburg and Milan are 25 plus minutes away. We have had several attempt this and miss holes on the second round. The second round will start with or without you. Please plan accordingly.
Below is what I sent this morning:
Good morning. I am super excited that you signed up to be part of our "Blooms and Birdies” at County Farm. This will be a 2 round PDGA C-Tier on Sunday, 4/30. We will do a shotgun start at 9a sharp.
The address for County Farm is as follows. It’s sometimes referred to as Cedar Sentinels. Address is: 11701 County Farm Rd.
Aurora, IN 47001
It is important that I put in here my little pep talk on pace of play. With a shotgun start, there is no reason for any group to get multiple holes behind. Please do your part to keep things flowing. County Farm flows well.
Any standing water will be played as casual water. Plan on it being wet/muddy in spots. There is no OB. Please make sure you understand what an unplayable lie is, because the rough is tough in spots.
Cheryl and I will be at tournament central, which will be the shelter. We will begin check in around 815a. We will have a shotgun start at 9a. I will post hole assignments around 9p tonight.
Here is the schedule of events. The schedule will look like this:
815-850a - Player Check In
9a - Shotgun Start round 1
@1130a lunch
@1230p 2nd round
@3p - Awards/payouts
*times approximate after first round
For those in the ACE fund, if there is not one hit, we will do a throw off where the winner takes all. The closest disc wins. ACE fund payouts will be done electronically this year.
We will be using PDGA Live for all scoring, and then a secondary form of scoring per card (PDGA live, Udisc or paper copy). The PDGA Live access code is: blooms430
Cards will be made of of primarily 4 players. Depending on numbers, we may have to mix some divisions. We will do our best to make sure everyone is with at least 1 person from their division.
All AM divisions will receive AM's Crossover cash immediately following the completion of their divisions rounds. There will be merchandise on hand to exchange in the Crossover Cash. Open players will receive their payouts via PayPal electronically.
It is on each player to know the PDGA rules and guidelines. It is on each card to make sure you are on the appropriate tee. It's easy to go to the wrong hole sometimes, so make sure the card confirms they are on the correct tee pad for each hole.
It's going to be a great event. Again, we are excited that you are going to join us.
See you Sunday morning.
Josh and Cheryl
