Hi everyone,

We want to say thank you for joining us yesterday for the event. Even with the crazy wind, Nate and I hope you still had a fun day of disc golf and got to meet some new people and enjoy some time with familiar faces, along with some fun (and crazy) competition. I have submitted the td report to the pdga. Yes, I was sure to tell the about the wind. The pro payouts have been sent out and the amateur script order was sent in today, so I will be sending those out to those who placed when DT World gets them done.

If you lost a disc, we had a couple returned to us that were not claimed. If any are pulled from the lake, they will be posted to the Prado DG page on facebook. If you see one that is yours but are not in the area, let us know and we can work together to get it back to you.

Thank you all again for joining us for this event. Big thanks to all of our staff (Diana, Ali, Mama and Pop Weaver) for taking care of the grilling and course maintenance during and after the event. Big thanks to Innova Disc Golf for providing the stellar looking players discs, Cosmic Fool for the custom slate awards, and James Bandy for the 2026 Roller Ace events Tee signs. We look forward to seeing all of you at future events. Nate and I will be out at The Yucaipa Open this upcoming weekend and will be camping on-site, so if you are there come say hi and chill with us. Our next sanctioned tournaments coming up are Rumble at the Rodeo at Glen Helen Regional Park on May 9 and the Mountain Meltdown up at Sky high on May 30 for all ams except Ma1 and FA1 and May 31 for MA1, FA1, and all pros. Welcome to the 2026 Cowtown Throwdown supported by Innova Disc Golf. Nate and I are looking forward to starting off our season of sanctioned events with a fun day at Prado Regional Park on Saturday, March 7, 2026.

Gates to the park open at 7:30 am. We are planning to tee off for round 1 at 9:00 am. Every player needs to come check in with us at tournament central (no, you cannot check your buddy in if he is close or if he is out practicing). Amateur players will pick up their tournament disc at check in. If any pro players want a tournament disc, we can talk after all ams have checked in. Once round 1 is complete and all scores are submitted, we will break for lunch, then look to start round 2 around 1 pm. Round 1 cards will be determined at random and we be keeping cards together within their divisions to the best of our ability. Round 2 cards will be determined by scores.

Lunch is included for all players! I will be picking up food based on your selection at registration. If you have food concerns, please let me or Nate know asap so we know what to look for. If you want to do something else for lunch, there is a farmer boys a couple miles up on Euclid and the stater bros shopping center about 2.5 miles down Pine ave. Just be aware of timing as we do need to keep to the schedule.

The new gate will not be open yet and the original parking lot is still under repair, so we will be setting up the same way we have at previous events. There is parking in the lot between tournament holes 1 and 2 and parking in the vacant area along tournament hole 16 fairway. There are pictures on the discgolfscene event page showing the map with parking areas. Please only park in these areas. Park staff will have you move your car if it is not parked in a proper spot and the tournament will not wait for you. Park staff is planning to have the second gate open just for us to enter as well (we have done this in past events. Nate can share the details). If you are not a SB county Regional Park pass holder, it does cost $15 per car (not person) to drive in a park in the park. The main gate accepts card and cash. The second gate is cash only. Both accept passes.

Nate and I do have the permit for the disc golf course aea to close the course to the public, which means there will not be any fishing, picnicking, etc on the course. Tournament staff and park staff have done a great job over the past few years of working together to inform everyone entering about the closure and building a positive relationship. However, sometimes that is missed and we end up with a couple stragglers looking to fish or do other activities while we have the course permitted. With that, if you should encounter someone on the course who should not be there, I ask that you be respectful and politely inform them about the course being closed to all other activities besides the tournament. In my experience most people understand and willingly move to another area. If there is someone who is being difficult or refusing to move, please get myself or Nate to handle it. We will talk to them with the park rangers and have them move. Not only is it hard for us to create a fair playing field when there are non-event users on the course, it is also a safety issue since there are flying discs all around and people may or may not be paying attention. Safety is the top priority for everyone visiting the park and we can all do our part to create that atmosphere.

I have attached the caddy book for you to review. Pictures of the individual holes are on the discgolfscene event page. I know we have some newer players joining us (YAY!), so be sure to take the time to review the book and notes and send me any questions you have. I will be holding a virtual players meeting on Wednesday, March 4, at 6:30 pm and will post the video to the disc golf scene event page. I will be going over some more things in detail, reviewing the caddy book, and answering any questions that are brought to my attention.

Hey everyone! Josh and I are excited to see you all on Saturday. Since the front gate at Prado is still under construction, the park is allowing us to use the side entrance. I've attached a map of directions on how to use the side entrance in the pictures section. Please take a look and let us know if you have any questions. Some people have been asking about signage for the event since this is the tournament layout and the hole numbers are different then the normal cours layout, especially with a temp hole. Nate and I have tournament event tee signs made that we will be using for all of our events. In previous years we have used the Innova signs. Now we have our own for 2026.

I just sent out an email to all players with some information, the caddy book, and the course map. I have also uploaded the caddy book here, along with ariel pictures of each hole and the overall course map. On another note, with it being just over a week before the event, Nate and I will be abiding by the PDGA policy for any refunds from this point on.

I have the preliminary map done, but I want to make all the pin locations are available and see about the update to the new gate and how that will affect our parking and tournament central set up. Once I have all of that confirmed and know we can mov ethe baskets to where they need to be, I will post the caddy book. Goal is to still have all the baskets (except the temp one) in place before next weekend so you can practice.

We are just over halfway full. Event discs are ordered (hope you like some cool limited runs). We still have plenty of room for players looking to jump in.

I am currently working on the layout. The Prado club has been great in keeping me updated on the status of the course. We think that the main parking lot may be open by the time of the event, which would affect how we have been designing the layouts this past year. Once we have more info, I will finalize the layout and get it posted for you. The goal is to have the baskets in the tournament layout the weekend before the event so you can get out there and practice over the weekend before the event.

Good morning everyone!

We are about a month away from the event and I have a couple updates.

1) Nate and I need to put the order in for the tournament discs soon. If you know someone who is planning to play, please have them register asap if they want to be guaranteed a tournament edition stamped disc. If players sign up too late, then they will be able to select a disc from one of our previous events as their player pack item.

2) Initially the event was "True Amateur" for the am divisions, which means multiple trophies and everyone receives the same players pack items. After player feedback from this event and others, Nate and I switched it to a payout event for the amateur divisions as well. The winner of each division (with enough qualifying players) will receive a trophy. The top finishers will receive payouts to a disc golf pro shop (most likely DTW, but other options are available).
