Good question. In short, it is a PDGA pass-through fee, which is a fee we must disclose in registration materials. Given that the event is in November, there is no way of knowing whether or not the public restrooms at Memorial Park will be available until the week of the tournament. Last year, there were some cold days in October that led the borough public works to winterize the bathroom, so we rented a portable restroom. We carried over that cost structure to this year's event. Despite the fact that the portable restroom was nor purchased, we still have to factor it into the costs of running the tournament, in the event that we need to rent one. It turned out that we did not need it due to the warmer weather lately. Admittedly, we intended there to be a portable restroom at Hunter Farm, but I realized the day before the event that the portable restrooms that were there all year were removed. I was unable to get a rental on short notice, which is why I notified players in the pre-event email about there being no facilities at Hunter Farm. Hopefully this "heads up" mitigated any bathroom emergencies from happening. I intend to be more diligent in making sure both course have facilities available on the day of the event for next year's event.

For amateurs competing in mixed divisions, you can compete in MA4 if you are under 850, MA3 if you are under 900, MA2 if you are under 935, and anyone can play in MA1, though if you are 935 and above you have to play in this division.
