GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD Evening!!! or Morning depending on when you are reading this! This email will serve as your players meeting! We will not meet up in the morning other than checking in :). Tee off is @ 8:00am! Let's get into the details!
First off I want to welcome you all to the NADGT events. These events are the ones I enjoy running the most because of all the new faces!!!!! This is an AM only tournament!!! We are introducing so many new people in these events and that is flipping AWESOME!!!
Let's start with a couple basics for our new players and those that may just need a refresher on how I run events :D Please note if I TALK LIKE THIS.. it's not yelling LOL.. it's just me trying to get the point across ;-).
Mandos - If you miss a mando you will follow the instructions from the hole OBs below. Welcome all our new faces to a PDGA event! If you miss a mando you will proceed to the designated drop zone with a 1 shot penalty. Example.. if you miss the mando on your 1st throw then you will go to drop zone and you are now throwing your 3rd shot :).
Is the Disc OB?! Let's keep this process as simple as possible. 4 & 5 man cards here.. if all can't agree if the disc is out or in then the ruling goes in favor of the person who's disc is in question.
Is it your turn?
No? then shhhhhh ;-) Everyone get's a fair time to throw.. don't be billy joe digging through the bag of jerky while johnny b is throwing. That's rude! Give them the same respect you would want while throwing :)
Be mindful of your surroundings! - Please stand BEHIND the person throwing. Just like Billy Joe digging through the bag of jerky we don't want to be in front of Johnny B throwing. This is commonly seen around the putting green. I don't know about you but I don't ever want to be the reason someone misses a putt.. or an excuse :P. Let's give the person throwing all the space they need. Let's beat them at there best!
806.03 Casual Area
Last updated: Saturday, December 31, 2022 - 22:58
A casual area is casual water, or any area specifically designated as a casual area by the Director before the round. Casual water is any body of water that is in-bounds and has not been explicitly declared by the Director to be in play.
To obtain relief from a casual area, the player's lie may be relocated without penalty to the nearest lie which is farther from the target and is on the line of play, at the nearest point that provides relief (unless greater casual relief is announced by the Director).
A player who takes relief other than as allowed by rule receives one penalty throw.
Ok :D Now that all that fun stuff is done.. here is your super long list of OB!
OB is as follows.
Hole 3 - Mando from Long Tee. Must past left of mando. Any missed mando shot will result in your next shot coming from the Short Pad with a one stroke penalty.
Hole 8 - Ditch = CASUAL AREA ---- BE SAFE IN THERE! Watch your footing, if you can not get a safe footing then you may proceed directly backwards in line with the basket.
Hole 9 - MANDDDDOOO left! DZ will be marked with Flags! OB Flags will be ran from Left to Right from the wood line of 10s fairway to behind 9s basket. Play from where the disc went out with an OB stroke.
Hole 10- OB Flags will be ran down the left side of your fairway from around the short tee all the way to the next wood line. The OB will end @ the wood line. I'll put 2 or 3 flags in a 90 degree heading <<<<---------- to show where the line stops.
Over and Fence = OB
In or across the road / parking lot = OB
Not to bad right?! Welcome to my first event at The View. Huge shoutout to Josh Moen and crew for helping us bring this awesome event to The View! We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow!!!
