Payments and Fees

What are the fees for online registration?

Disc Golf Scene's tournament tools are free to use.

Online registration incurs a handling and transaction fees per paid registrant, per transaction.
Most tournaments choose to pass the handling fees on to the registrants, which means the tournament collects exactly the amount of entry fees.

Transaction fees are ~3.49% + $0.49 per transaction.

Disc Golf Scene charges a flat fee of $1.84 per registrant, per transaction.

These fees can be added automatically to the entry fees.

Example: $30 entry fee → Registrant pays $33.43 → Tournament collects exactly $30.00

Free entry, e.g. for divisions with no entry fee, does not incur transaction or handling fees.

When does my tournament collect the entry fees?

Immediately.

Registrants pay directly to the tournament PayPal account, so the tournament is paid in real time upon every registration.

Do registrants need a PayPal account to register?

Nope!

Registrants may pay using a debit or credit card, or they may pay using their PayPal account.

Payments are processed through PayPal's service regardless of payment method.

Can my tournament accept payments in currencies other than USD?

Yes!

Disc Golf Scene supports multiple international currencies, including Canadian Dollars, British Pounds and Euros.

Handling and transaction fees are adjusted for international currencies.

How do I keep track of the tournament finances?

We automatically track all online registrations.

If you add players who registered offline, you can include their financial information and we'll automatically put it in the financial summary.

Online registration records are read-only and cannot be modified.

Can I allow divisions with free entry?

Yes. Any division may be set to a $0 entry fee. Registrants of that division will not incur any charges.

The tournament may still add paid options (e.g. Ace Pool, food/facility fees) that will incur a charge.

A verified PayPal account is always required for the tournament to enable online registration even if the entry fees are 0.

Registrants owing payment

TDs can choose to indicate whether registrants owe payment on the Registered Players page.

If the option is enabled, an asterisk will be displayed next to registered players who appear to owe entry fee payment.

Tournament staff can update the amount paid by each player in the Add / edit players section.
