Matthew Hull 47 - Regular tees, 18 holes "After picking up my elusive "Flying Pig 2018" t-shirt from The Nati, I decided to enjoy a few leisurely rounds @ Winton Woods on my way home. Despite simply not feeling it today (It was warm and humid which might have affected the timing of my throws? It was a weird afternoon for me.), I still managed to have a few good tosses. My timing with my Roach is particularly disturbing as I find myself releasing early or late but rarely putting the disc on a rope. Hopefully, tomorrow will be much better!"

Matthew Hull 43 - Regular tees, 18 holes "I had a wonderful Orion drive on #4 that was a mere 8-10 ft. short of the basket (275 ft. hole!) and my drives late in the round were superb! My closest Ace run of the day was easily on Hole #13 when my Cottonwood Buzzz came *so* close but glanced off the chains on the left side of the basket. If that disc fades *slightly* less, it is IN the basket. It was nice to at least hang my hat on one throw like that today though. Lord knows I will need throws like that in the Doubles Tourney tomorrow! ;)"

Matthew Hull 48 - Regular tees, 18 holes "My wife and son joined me for a four round tour of Winton Woods this fine Saturday evening! It was an adventure to say the least (YOU try to take your 18 month old for a walk there...ha, ha!) but we all had a nice time. My putting was either very good or nothing less than a train wreck but that's par for the course I suppose. I took my Cottonwood Buzzz to Winton Woods for the first time in a while (those concrete circles by the baskets scare me...they can rip discs to shreds over time...) and it along with my Glo Roach were fantastic tonight at least in the upshot category."

Matthew Hull 43 - Regular tees, 18 holes "After a pretty lackluster opening round, I played a bit better this time around. I had a wonderful Pikachu Pro Boss drive on Hole #4 (a little more anhyzer on the throw and who knows what might have been) and a superb final stretch of birdies! My Glo Roach hit another sweet line on #13 (needed a touch more of anhyzer...that seemed to be the theme today), the Cottonwood Buzzz came close on #15, and the Roach hit a nice line on both #17 and 18."
-11
Matthew Hull 43 - Regular tees, 18 holes "I know it's a broken record by now but holy smokes the Roach is one heck of a disc when you want a straight line! I went with it on #1 and came close to an Ace! It somehow squeezed through the trees on #3 (didn't feel like a good throw at ALL either), the Cottonwood Buzzz hit a nice line on #7, and my Bengals Resistor came close on #16 (that disc is a freaking MEAT HOOK btw)."
-11
Matthew Hull 43 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Despite a funky start to the round, it winded up being okay. It was getting dark by this point so I went through it as quickly as possible with a heavy dose of my Cottonwood Buzzz and Star Mako discs (going with bright orange and yellow discs during twilight is a GOOD idea). I hit some solid lines and had my closest ace moment as well (Megasoft Shield hit the line beautifully on #14 but hit the chains too high so it deflected and landed 5 ft. from the basket...BUMMER) The Roach came close on both #17 and 18 but I had to settle for birdies instead of aces. ;)"

Matthew Hull 43 - Regular tees, 18 holes "What a wonderful Friday night of disc golf this was! My wife and son joined me which made my trek through Winton Woods all that more enjoyable. :) I played fantastic overall too! Right out of the gate, I could tell that my Glo Roach was going to have a special night. I threw it on #1 and it glided to the right before fading just left of the basket. My putting was a bit mucky early on but before long, I was feeling the Roach again! I hit a superb line on #8 and *just* missed an ace (hit the line perfectly but landed too low) while my Star Stingray darn near hit the line on #17 (I put nice touch on that throw...not an easy thing to do with the squirrely Stingray)."
-15
Matthew Hull 39 - Regular tees, 18 holes "What an unreal round this was! Holy cow was this ever fun? Despite another yucky start (just missed my putts early on and even a few drives were mediocre at best) I rallied to put together one of my finest rounds EVER @ Winton Woods! With my wife and son walking with me, I had a superb Star Roadrunner drive on #12 to snag a rare birdie there (after getting an embarrassing 3 on the 90 ft. Hole #11...threw the Bengals Resistor there and overthrew the hole by quite a bit) and then...it happened. I told my wife before I threw my drive that I was really feeling the Roach tonight. And then, I threw it and it had the perfect velocity, height, and it glided to the right before fading slowly to the left...DEAD CENTER CHAINS. It was a no-doubt Ace (nearly 200 ft.) and my wife and son were there to witness it which is truly double the reward. YEAHHHHHHHHH!! The rest of the round was simply pure joy too as I couldn't miss. I rode the Roach all the way to the finish line and it didn't let me down! The end result was a stellar 15 under par...whoo-hoo! :)"

Matthew Hull 42 - Regular tees, 18 holes "My wife and son joined me and we had a wonderful time out @ Winton Woods! It was pretty warm too so this course was a wise choice for sure. I didn't feel totally on my game but I still managed to have some solid tosses with my Cottonwood Buzzz and Star Mako. I broke out my Blue Bomber Buzzz as well and hit some nice lines on #10 and 16 with that one (even though I missed a 15-20 ft. putt on #16)."
-12
Matthew Hull 42 - Regular tees, 18 holes "This second round was a great time too until we hit the latter part of the back nine. I honestly got quite frustrated with some of my drives (sailed them up in the air for some reason) and my putting was *barely* good enough. Yikes! I did have a wonderful Sword drive on #12 that unfortunately missed the basket on the left side and skipped to high heaven (love the line it hit...just not the end result). It feels good to be throwing my Star Mako again too. It hit some nice lines on #18 today."

Matthew Hull 42 - Regular tees, 18 holes "What a funny round! Despite my putting being downright LUCKY (It seemed like my Megasoft Shield could do no wrong even when my putting technique felt way off. That disc loves the chains!) I found a way to put together a solid round. I tried to pull off the trifecta and get a third ace in a row on Hole #9 but alas...my throw drifted to the right just a bit and faded 15 or so ft. to the left of the basket. It was quite the streak though! I had another spectacular drive on #12 with the Captain and then missed easy putts on #13 and 14. What a wonky (but fun) round."
-9
Matthew Hull 45 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Ugh...all you need to know is that my putting was historically BAD this round. My Captain landed 30 or so ft. from the Hole #3 basket and I three-putted it! THREE putts! At least I finished on a positive note with a slew of birdies but still...I need to purchase a basket so I can improve my putting! It needs some TLC or something...lol."

Matthew Hull 39 - Regular tees, 18 holes "I was feeling it in a HUGE way today! I had a wonderful day at work and that seemed to trickle over into my best ever performance @ Winton Woods! I relied mostly on my Glo Roach, KC Roc, Comet, and Truth discs and all of them just hit the perfect lines throughout! And my Glo Roach finally got to taste an Ace as it simply hit the perfect straight line on the super short Hole #9 and hugged the chains. The Roach has actually been my main putter for a while so it was nice to finally get one with it. That momentum carried over because I bulldozed through the back nine (with just a couple of gaffs putting...go figure). My Truth nearly aced #10, my Captain hit an INSANE line on #12 and landed some 15-20 ft. beyond the basket (290 ft. hole with trees in sadistic spots), and my KC Roc *just* missed acing #14 again. I could have easily walked away with three or four aces in one round of play but I'll take the one. I finished strong with the Defender on #16, the Comet on #17, and the Roach (Why not?!) on #18 for a superb 15 under par! WOW!!"

Matthew Hull 44 - Regular tees, 18 holes "I am not going to lie. My putting the second round was BAD. Not just mediocre or sub-par but "hide the women and children" bad. I think I missed like 4-5 putts inside of 20 ft. INSIDE of 20 ft.! It was absolutely mind-numbingly horrific but I just couldn't get upset with myself because...it happened again on Hole #9! Same disc, same hole, same result (although this Ace was a different, much more risky line than the first one)!! I couldn't believe it when it happened but how sweet it was! The fact my wife and son were with me (and a couple behind us saw it as well) was really, REALLY cool! I did manage to somehow salvage a so-so round otherwise by finishing at 10 down but the Ace is what I will remember. What a wonderful evening! :)"

Matthew Hull 44 - Regular tees, 18 holes "After having such a blast on Saturday with friends @ Winton Woods, I decided to trek back out there and winded up playing a whopping five rounds despite it being super busy! Trust me...playing there solo on a Sunday is no joke (I think one group behind me had like 10 people?!) Despite being incredibly tired (hardly got any sleep the previous night), I had a blast and had too many close ace calls to count. ;) My KC Roc just loves Hole #7 while my Comet came super close on #8. I had another near ace on #13 with the KC Roc (same line as my KC Roc ace on this hole a couple of months ago...just *barely* short) while I hit the bottom lip of the #14 basket with my Neutron Envy! Overall, this was a good round. I wanted the ace though!"
-11
Matthew Hull 43 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Thar she blows! I finally was able to snag an ace on the incredibly short Hole #9 with my Megasoft Shield! Lo and behold, as soon as I started to try that hyzer line throw (versus the slight anhyzer line throw as there is no resistance to that line), I snagged myself an ace. The cool thing is that there were literally 10-15 people hanging around the picnic tables and restroom area that all turned around at the same time once the disc hit the chains. It was SWEET! :) I came pretty close on Hole #1 with my Neutron Envy as well. My Comet drive on #15 looked like it had a chance before fading late also."
-9
Matthew Hull 45 - Regular tees, 18 holes "If only I had played better on the front nine! I did manage to have a wonderful stretch from #13-18 thanks to some timely Megasoft Shield and Comet throws but otherwise...my putting was mediocre at best."
-11
Matthew Hull 43 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Another solid round in the books! Even if my putting was all over the place! After snagging that ace on #9 earlier, I tried the same line on #2 with my Megasoft Shield and came close surprisingly enough. I was able to snag six straight birdies which was way cool as well. Of course I tried the Shield again on #9 and parked it this time which I'll take I suppose."
-13
Matthew Hull 41 - Regular tees, 18 holes "This round helped me to leave Winton Woods with a small on my face because this was a new personal best for me at 13 under par! :) All I can say is that I was able to park most of my throws close enough to where even a mediocre putting day couldn't get in the way of lots of birdies. I was pretty beat by this point but I did my best to simply throw accurately and made the right adjustments with my disc selection. The Neutron Envy and Megasoft Shield were heavily used as was the Comet and KC Roc. I once again hit the bottom lip on the Hole #14 basket with my Neutron Envy. I could swear that throw was going to be an ace too! Oh well...there's always next time for that!"

Matthew Hull 43 - Regular tees, 18 holes "What an amazingly fun afternoon/evening of disc golf that this turned out to be! My good friend Jon and I played a whopping four rounds at three courses today starting with this one! It was a blast too because our throws were really on (for the most part anyway). My Neutron Envy throw on #1 darn near went into the basket so I knew it was going to be fun! My KC Roc overshot the basket on #7 (missed the putt there) and my Comet and Roach discs hit lines nicely! The Megasoft Shield is a disc I am trying to throw more once again as well."
-11
Matthew Hull 43 - Regular tees, 18 holes "We decided to play one more round and it was here that we met a really nice guy named Brad who joined us for the rest of the day! It was fun because of how laid back and cool he was and we just had fun plain and simple. My Pikachu Pro Boss was parked on #4 as it just missed the tree to the right (one I hit THREE consecutive times...ha, ha) and I had another close call on #7 with my KC Roc! I also darn near aced #10 with my Truth disc while my Neutron Envy hit a really nice line on #16."

Matthew Hull 46 - Regular tees, 18 holes "I do have to say...Winton Woods has a MUCH better feel/atmosphere in the spring because it is SO green and lush out there right now! My friend Jon and I enjoyed a leisurely round this evening and overall, we both played pretty well (tied at -8 actually). I went with my Megasoft Shield as my main putter and it was money this round! My Neutron Envy hit some nice lines as well on #5 and #6 (parked), I darn near aced #11 as well (XT Nova hit the top of the bottom lip!) and hit a nice line on #18 with the same disc. Thanks goodness for Jon because I stupidly threw my Star Stingray on #17 and we had a tough time finding it...until he did!"

Matthew Hull 48 - Regular tees, 18 holes "All I can say is I am one tired man as I played a whopping six rounds out at Winton Woods this afternoon! It was only 44 degrees when I started but the weather just got more and more pleasant as the day progressed and I literally didn't leave until the crescent moon and Venus made an appearance in the night sky! My gosh I am obsessed something awful. Someone help meeeeeeeeeee!! ;)"
-9
Matthew Hull 45 - Regular tees, 18 holes "While my first round was a fairly pedestrian six under, I definitely started to get my groove going in round #2! I threw my Envy a LOT (I have worked on getting more distance on my putters and it is helping me park my throws so much better!) along with my Cottonwood Buzzz and KC Roc (the Roc is one I haven't thrown much but it was money today). Also, my G Star Orc made an appearance today and it felt SO good on Holes #4 & 12! This disc landed a mere 8-10 ft. from the basket which is by FAR the best drive I have ever had on #4! It is yet another dependable straight shooter that will definitely find itself in my bag more often. My Theory loves #15 as it came very close to hitting the perfect line!"
-11
Matthew Hull 43 - Regular tees, 18 holes "By this point, I was REALLY feeling it! :) It is exceedingly rare for me to birdie the first three holes in a row and yet I was able to pull that off thanks to my Star Stingray hitting the line on #3 (a tricky throw if you don't have a great flick throw...which I don't have). My Envy is suddenly money on #6 (hits the hyzer line nicely as long as I don't overpower it) and 7 as well! And my gosh...my G Star Orc got SNEAKY on #12 by weaving between the trees on the right side of the hole and coming to rest about 15-20 ft. from the basket! That deuce felt great and yet it made me shake my head at how in the HECK I got measly pars on #9 & 11 (the two shortest holes on the course...and two of the shortest holes on ANY course). Oh well...it was sure weird though. My KC Roc continued to be the "steady" disc that I could rely on for control shots like on #13 (parked it right next to the basket) and my Claymore suddenly seems like a GREAT fit for the hard right turn hole (#17) as it hits a potential ace line if I get it to glide sharply to the right. It *barely* missed! The only real bummer was that I missed an EASY putt on #18 that would have broken my personal best score! That was frustrating for sure! The next round would help though."
-12
Matthew Hull 42 - Regular tees, 18 holes "YESSSSSSSS!! One round after missing a simple, simple putt, I managed to put together another great round and finished it off with a new personal best score of 12 under! Whoo-hoo! :) It didn't look all that promising four holes in but my Envy and KC Roc settled me down and I started parking my drives one after the other. I darn near aced #9 (My KC Roc hit the line right between the trees and hit chains but wouldn't sit dang it!) and #15 (my Cottonwood Buzzz hit a beautiful line but was just wide left) but came up short in that department. My Envy worked wonders though on #16 and the Claymore once again hit a promising ace run line on #17 (just wide of the basket) to seal the deal!"
-11
Matthew Hull 43 - Regular tees, 18 holes "After putting together back-to-back rounds of -11 and -12, I thought about leaving for the day but...I simply couldn't do it. I was having too much fun! :) I went back to work and darn near tied my new record!"
-11
Matthew Hull 43 - Regular tees, 18 holes "It only took me six rounds but I *FINALLY* snagged an ace!!! My KC Roc, which had been a really hot disc all afternoon long, found the perfect S line on #13 and nailed the chains *perfectly* for a no-doubt ace! :) I had been parking this disc on #13 all afternoon so it was so satisfying to hit an ace with this particular disc! I even met a new friend (Brian!) who was just behind me which was really cool. I darn near aced #1 as well (my Envy found a glorious line and just missed) and, while I didn't play the front nine all that well, the back half was good enough to give me a fourth consecutive round of finishing at -10 or better! I did throw the KC Roc on #9 and 14 and parked it both times. You've got to ride the hot disc sometimes, right? ;) What a satisfying day of disc golf!"

Matthew Hull 49 - Regular tees, 18 holes "I wasn't sure about playing today (44 degrees with a bunch of 60-70 degree days later this week) but...yeah...you know how that goes! I ended up playing three rounds @ Winton Woods and it was a blast! It definitely took me a round to warm up though as I couldn't putt a LICK during this particular go-round."
