Matthew Hull 46 - Regular tees, 18 holes "After playing a plethora of rounds @ Harbin Park over the past several days, I needed something light and simple so I figured why not play @ Winton Woods and try to snag that elusive 99th Ace? My goal has been to get #100 @ Harbin Park so I thought maybe...just maybe I could find one tonight. Well...the wind certainly played a factor tonight as it was 10-15 mph and definitely affected my throws and putting. Speaking of which, it was a REALLY good night for my Glo Roach! The solid putting that I have had over the past couple of days carried over into tonight's rounds which is fine by me! I just tried to relax and not think too much...just let my routine work itself out...and that strategy worked remarkably well! Due to the wind blowing in a southern direction, I actually threw my Patrol and Star Stingray more often than normal. It was really an experiment but my gosh...my Patrol *just* missed the Ace line on Hole #5 and darn near hit #2 again as well!"

Matthew Hull 42 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Having the wind at my back helped me in a BIG way on Hole #4 tonight! I was able to park my Lucid Enforcer by the 275 ft. hole which always makes me feel good. ;) My execution and putting was very, very good this round too. I didn't come all that close to acing any holes but sometimes, that results in better scores oddly enough."

Matthew Hull 44 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Holy smokes...I don't know if I have ever overshot Hole #4 but it happened tonight! I once again went with my Lucid Enforcer and put a lot of power into my throw and it went 10 ft. or so past the basket (upper-right of the hole)! I also had a wonderful Pikachu Pro Boss drive on #12 which turned beautifully and landed a mere 12-15 ft. from the basket! To birdie both #4 and #12 in the same round is exceedingly rare (and super hard for me to do). I just wish I could have birdied all of the easy holes too!"

Matthew Hull 44 - Regular tees, 18 holes "That'll do pig...that'll do. ;) On a fairly windy evening when my normally reliable Neutron Envy and Megasoft Shield were getting squirrel-y on me and turning and burning, I got unconventional and rode my Patrol of all discs which somehow worked out! You have to understand that my Patrol is possibly the most understable disc in my bag. It DEFINES what it means to be "squirrel-y." And yet...I tossed it on the super short Hole #11 and I kid you not...it hit the most perfect, straight line right into the basket! I could tell immediately that it was going to be an Ace because it was *that* perfect! I didn't hoot and holler or do a victory dance because I have hit that hole so many times but still...it felt really nice to thread the needle perfectly and snag a no-doubter like that. :) And honestly, the wind ended up helping me in a HUGE way because on a normal evening with no wind, that throw would have turned and hit the tree to the right (or missed the tree entirely and gone 40-50 ft. beyond the basket). In any case, I was able to snag my 99th Lifetime Ace which means the stage is set!! I am ONE Ace away from a nearly impossible milestone to achieve...only ONE away! I actually said a little prayer after getting this Patrol Ace and it is something I may never pray for again. I literally asked God that I would NOT get another Ace this round because, nothing against Winton Woods, but I didn't want #100 to happen there. I want to hit a 200+ ft. hole at least! ;) I had some good throws down the stretch but, as you can tell, I did NOT play #16-18 well at all. Maybe it's for the best. Now it's on to Harbin Park and a date with destiny! ;)"

Matthew Hull 40 - Regular tees, 18 holes "All I can say is "WOWZA!" Despite this being my first round of the night (I generally need a round or two to be truly warmed up.) I darn near tied my personal best at Winton Woods! I actually started on the back nine so that unblemished front nine was a furious rally for sure...and as solid a front nine as I have EVER played here! My Glo Roach seems to suddenly be a great fit for the "I need a massive an-hyzer" Hole #3 line and my Pikachu Pro Boss crushed it on Hole #4 and landed a mere 10-15 ft. from the basket! My Cottonwood Buzzz continues to come close on Hole #8 as well (typically goes just wide left or right...I WILL hit that hole eventually)."
-10
Matthew Hull 44 - Regular tees, 18 holes "I went Champion Daedalus on Hole #4 and it hit a superb line! If I put some real velocity behind that disc, it truly does hit a nice line."
-13
Matthew Hull 41 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Sandy and Ryan joined me for this round along with the next one which was wonderful! It was around 55-60 degrees with a light drizzle and Ryan enjoyed playing in the mud puddles @ Winton Woods...along with helping my discs to find their way into the basket! ;) I darn near snagged an Ace on Hole #1 too! I threw my Blue Bomber Buzzz and it hit a super smooth line and hit chains near the top of the basket but didn't stick! It was a bit too high but dang...SO close! My putting was definitely better this evening as I had some nice saves. My Glo Roach is one beat in disc and it continues to be my #1 putter!"
-8
Matthew Hull 46 - Regular tees, 18 holes "This was easily my worst round of the evening but I did have a spectacular Pikachu Pro Boss drive on #12 that threaded the needle between the trees along the ride side of the fairway and landed 15-20 ft. from the basket!"
-12
Matthew Hull 42 - Regular tees, 18 holes "It was starting to get dark by this round but I found a real adrenaline boost on Hole #9! I rode my white hot Cottonwood Buzzz and threw it with just the right amount of velocity so that it turned nicely, faded *exactly* when I wanted it to fade, and got all nice and tangled up in the chains for the Ace!! :) I was pretty tired and wasn't really feeling all that energetic but man...nothing can change that more quickly than an awesome putt...or better yet an Ace! I probably took more risks than necessary and had some bone-headed throws at times but this round still turned out pretty well. This Cottonwood Buzzz Ace runs my streak of consecutive outings to Winton Woods with an Ace to a whopping SEVEN straight trips! That of course includes my 5 Aces in 5 Days streak I recently had. Winton Woods and I are tight right now! ;)"
-11
Matthew Hull 43 - Regular tees, 18 holes "You have GOT to be kidding me!! It was completely dark by the time I reached the back nine so from that point on, it was a shot in the dark (literally). What happened on Hole #16 is something I will NEVER forget though. No one was with me of course so I don't blame anyone for not believing me but I threw my Pikachu Pro Boss on a spike hyzer line and, while it felt like a good throw, I could NOT believe it when I heard the loud sound of chains clanging. This is a 175 ft. hole with obstacles in the way and the need for a smooth hyzer line and I had NEVER once Aced this hole...before doing it in complete darkness, with a light drizzle, throwing a disc I rarely throw on this hole on a line I hardly ever use for my Pro Boss! The odds had to be astronomical of me Acing this hole in these circumstances...and it HAPPENED! I went up to the basket and my disc was sitting right there...basking in its glory (and first EVER Ace for my Pikachu Pro Boss). What a surreal, twilight-zone like moment. And what a final couple of rounds of disc golf! :)"

Matthew Hull 46 - Regular tees, 18 holes "What a beautiful evening! I headed to Winton Woods right after work and played as many rounds as I could (as you will see...ha, ha!) Sandy and Ryan joined me for the entirety of my first couple of rounds and we had a blast! Ryan knows to wait for his daddy to throw and once that happens, we all start walking (or running in Ryan's case!) towards the basket. Ryan will even pick up the disc and toss it into the basket! The boy knows what is going on! :) This round was a good one aside from STUPID bad putting on Hole #5. It was utter nonsense my friend...utter nonsense. The rest of the round was pretty solid though. I went Champion Daedalus on Hole #4 and boy did it hit a nice line! I merely had to make a 15-20 ft. putt to seal the birdie there. My Cottonwood Buzzz hit a wonderful line on #8 and looked Ace-worthy but it must have simply missed long (turned and faded perfectly...just long!)"
-5
Matthew Hull 49 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Talk about one disappointing round! It sure looked good early on but mediocrity set in around Hole #6 or so. Yucky, yucky, yucky!"
-8
Matthew Hull 46 - Regular tees, 18 holes "My Patrol continues to hit a smooth an-hyzer line on Hole #2. Another Ace could be coming on that hole in the near future! ;)"
-12
Matthew Hull 42 - Regular tees, 18 holes "My putting was very inconsistent and iffy tonight so it was nice to still manage a 12 under round! My Cottonwood Buzzz, Blue Bomber Buzzz, and Neutron Envy all saw a healthy dosage of action tonight and the Buzzz's in particular were hitting some nice lines."
-10
Matthew Hull 44 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Oh...so...CLOSE!! On Hole #3 (hard bend to the right with trees blocking all but the most perfect an-hyzer throws) I threw my Roach on a string and it glided right...into the bottom lip of the basket! I honestly didn't see the throw exactly but judging from the infamous sound I heard, it was the bottom lip it hit. This is one of those holes where you have a puncher's chance at an Ace but is not really one I expect to get...and yet it almost happened!"
-12
Matthew Hull 42 - Regular tees, 18 holes "It was already twilight when I started what was probably an ill-advised final round of the evening but I followed it through to the finish and what happened on Hole #18 is truly the stuff of legend my friend! LEGENDDDDDD!! :) It was COMPLETELY dark by the time I reached Hole #12 or 13 so my goal was quite simple. I just wanted to throw brightly-colored discs and not lose anything out there! Well...since the Cottonwood Buzzz felt good and it was the disc I had my only Ace on Hole #18 with (being bright orange never hurts either), I decided to throw it to finish the night. I took my time, released my C. Buzzz on as straight of a line as I could muster, watched my disc disappear into the darkness, and then 2-3 seconds later, I heard chains and then a soft thud! It was incredible throwing the disc, hearing nothing, and then suddenly hearing chains! Based on that "thud" I heard, I had a feeling that the disc might have hit chains and spit out but I ran up to the hole and the disc was in the basket for the Ace! Honorable mention goes to my Blue Bomber Buzzz which narrowly missed the trees on the left side of the fairway on Hole #6 and came close to hitting the Ace line there but the C. Buzzz throw is the one I will remember. My streak of Aces ended a couple of weeks ago (5 in 5 days!) but I now have an Ace on SIX straight trips to Winton Woods! :)"

Matthew Hull 44 - Regular tees, 18 holes "For the sixth day in a row, I played disc golf @ Winton Woods and, while I certainly wanted to throw well and have fun like always, I came gunning for another Ace to keep my streak (four days in a row of obtaining an Ace) alive! I was honestly so excited at work today just thinking about the past four days and how magical they have been. With nothing in the world to lose. I wanted to see if I could find a way to snag another one this afternoon/evening. This first round was not a bad start either! I actually began on Hole #10 and played the back nine first. My Cottonwood Buzzz came SO close on Hole #18 again too! One day after finally getting my first ever Ace on that hole, my C. Buzzz hit a sweet line and hit a decent amount of chains on the left side of the basket but didn't stick. THAT would have been another nice one to get too! I did have one of my finest drives EVER on Hole #4 with my Lucid Enforcer as well. Sandy and Ryan joined me for the front nine and my oh my...my play got better than ever with my family being by my side! :) My Blue Bomber Buzzz hit the most wonderful line on Hole #6 but it landed long. It looked really good though."
-10
Matthew Hull 44 - Regular tees, 18 holes "My Pikachu Pro Boss hit a superb line on Hole #4 and I nailed the 18-20 ft. Roach putt! Speaking of which, my putting was for the most part very solid this evening! I had nice rhythm and I really made the effort to take my time. That certainly helped!"
-10
Matthew Hull 44 - Regular tees, 18 holes "If it had not been for a horrific experience on Hole #12, this round could have been superb! The front nine in particular was awesome though! Unbelievably, I went with my Neutron Envy on #4 just out of sheer curiosity and, while it hit a wonderful line, it landed well short and I had to make a 50-60 ft. Roach putt which happened! Like I said, my putting was very good today!"
-9
Matthew Hull 45 - Regular tees, 18 holes "This is totally random but there several instances this evening when my Blue Bomber Buzzz would get the most fortunate "Tree Love." It would hit a decent line, hyzer out more than I wanted, and it would hit a tree just right and wind up 10-15 ft. from the basket. This happened maybe 4-5 times and it seemed to always be with that disc! Mega Man must like me or something! ;)"
-11
Matthew Hull 43 - Regular tees, 18 holes "While I had several close Ace calls in the earlier rounds, it was this round and the next when the close calls started to REALLY pile up. My Patrol came close on Hole #2 and my Cottonwood Buzzz hit the bottom lip on the super short Hole #11 basket. Just a bit higher and the C. Buzzz would have had another Ace! My Neutron Envy did the same thing on Hole #14 as well! I threw it with smooth velocity and it hit the right line...it was just too low and nailed the bottom lip. And while it wasn't an Ace exactly, I had the most amazing Megasoft Shield upshot on #12 from some 70-80 ft. out that hit a wonderful line and found chains for the birdie! It was sweet!"
-13
Matthew Hull 41 - Regular tees, 18 holes "It's hard to ask for a much better round than this one because I was on point with the exception of Hole #12. I actually threw quite well on Hole #3 this evening (my smooth putting helped immensely to be fair) and that continued into this round too! My Star Stingray hit the top band of the basket on Hole #8 (that hole might have the record for the most basket/pole hits without an Ace for me) and my Neutron Envy hit the bottom lip on Hole #11! The bottom lip was my BANE tonight apparently!"
-10
Matthew Hull 44 - Regular tees, 18 holes "By this point, it was twilight and probably ill-advised to play another round but with my consecutive Ace day streak in jeopardy and the fact that it was still some 65 degrees outside (today was the first really warm day in a long time btw...it felt AMAZING outside), I pressed on. Win or lose tonight, I had put my heart and SOUL into my disc golf rounds and I wasn't going to have any regrets for sure. So I pressed on."
-10
Matthew Hull 44 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Simply UNREAL! On a night that involved an ultra close call on Hole #18 with my C. Buzzz, bottom lip hits by both my C. Buzzz and Neutron Envy, a top basket hit by my Star Stingray, and a plethora of near misses that didn't hit metal, it all came down to throwing my Neutron Envy in the dark on Hole #11...and it went in! Seriously, I had my flashlight with me and I played the majority of the last 6-7 holes with my Glo Roach (my only glow disc) but it was a simple, smooth Envy throw that unbelievably got me my 5th Ace in the past five days! FIVE days in a row baby! And it happened with the slightest bit of light in the sky. The last several holes were a bit scary as only the moon and stars lit up the night sky but I somehow managed to put together a few birdies in there and finish on a positive note. It was quite the adventure this evening and I will be telling my grandkids someday about this magical Ace run. I don't know many people who could bag an Ace on five consecutive days (even on shorter holes) but I can promise you that it really happened tonight. I am SO happy right now! :)"

Matthew Hull 43 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Unbelievably, the streak continues!!!! For the fourth consecutive day, I got an Ace @ Winton Woods and, like my Hole #10 Ace on Sunday, this one was another first-time Ace as I finally hit Hole #18 with my Cottonwood Buzzz! I threw it with smooth velocity and it hit the line man. It hit that sweet straight line! Oddly enough, one day after throwing my C. Buzzz and Glo Roach poorly, both discs felt sharp this evening as my putting was vastly improved over the disaster known as last night (LOL). This round was a decent one but naturally, the highlight will always be that wonderful Ace on Hole #18. I am just so happy that I finally hit that hole! It was about freaking time!"
-13
Matthew Hull 41 - Regular tees, 18 holes "As excited as I felt about my Cottonwood Buzzz Ace, this second round winded up being the better score amazingly enough! My Pikachu Pro Boss hit a sneaky effective line on Hole #12 as it turned a lot and somehow dodged everything before landing 20-25 ft. to the right of the basket there. I hit a nice, smooth putt there with my Roach which was a huge confidence booster (especially after the worst putting EVER last night). The back nine was a thing of dreams too as I hit another superb line on #15 with my Cottonwood Buzzz. The best throw of the round was undoubtedly my Cottonwood Buzzz on Hole #18 because it hit the Ace line AGAIN! In truly unreal fashion, however, it hit chains and was halfway down before spitting out of the basket. It's like it needed to be a couple millimeters higher to make it over the bottom lip or something. Regardless, it was another heck of a throw! Like I said before, my C. Buzzz was HOT tonight! :)"
-13
Matthew Hull 41 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Sandy and Ryan joined me for the back nine of this round which was wonderful and we had a blast together! I was already on a high having that Ace earlier but having my family join me for a bit was super special for sure. I played GREAT too! Despite narrowly missing the Ace line on the ultra-short Hole #11 with my Cottonwood Buzzz (and missing the 25-30 ft. putt as a result), I had potentially my best drive EVER on Hole #12 with my Lucid Enforcer! Seriously, I threw this superb driver with full velocity and it hit such a sweet line and parked some 10 ft. away from the basket (short). It felt amazing! And of course on the very next hole my Roach was robbed on a birdie attempt but we won't go there. ;) I literally parked my C. Buzzz on #15 (although I HATE it whenever that disc hits the concrete circle surrounding the hole...it can't take the punishment forever) and the Megasoft Shield on #16. Unfortunately, my son Ryan had a really bloody lip so he and Sandy didn't join me for #17 and 18 but I finished the round well. And btw I darn near hit the Ace line on both Holes #1 and 7 with my C. Buzzz!"
-9
Matthew Hull 45 - Regular tees, 18 holes "While my final round of the evening was my least effective, I still had a few sweet throws. I actually went with my Blue Bomber Buzzz on Hole #7 and it felt great but soared right over the basket landing some 35-40 ft. from the basket. I might have to try that one again on that hole sometime. My Glo Roach came close on #9 as well."

Matthew Hull 45 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Both the Winton Woods streak (4 days in a row!) and the Ace streak (3 days in a row!) continued tonight. On an evening when my putting was simply dreadful and amongst the worst putting performances of all time (I literally couldn't hit ANYTHING for the most part. It was BAD.), I still managed to somehow summon that perfect toss on Hole #2 with my Patrol for the Ace! In all seriousness, my Patrol hit such a beautiful line (perfect an-hyzer turn and then it straightened out and held the straight line right into the chains) that it made me wonder why in the HECK everything else sucked tonight! ;) But I will take it with a smile on my face. It really was a great Ace to get...despite it being a 150 ft. hole (but certainly a technical one as trees really force you into an uncomfortable shot). I went with the Patrol a few more times this round but couldn't recapture the magic of my Hole #2 toss."
