Matthew Hull 42 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Even though we had a full day yesterday (visited my extended family up north) and planned to visit one of my old college buddies and his wife and son, I couldn't resist the urge to get out and play a few rounds this morning before we took off for Indy. I am glad that I did too because I had a couple of really good rounds! My Claymore hit a nice line on #3 (a hole I typically struggle with as you really need a solid forehand shot to succeed there) and my Neutron Matrix came oh-so-close to Acing #16 (hit the hyzer line beautifully and smashed into the bottom lip of the basket)."

Matthew Hull 39 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Wow!! What a fantastic final round of the day! I really found my upshot and made some solid 20-25 ft. Roach putts to put together a record-tying performance! If only my Patrol toss on #3 and my Neutron Envy throw on #13 had been better, I could have broken it! I did have a wonderful Pikachu Pro Boss drive on #4 to snag a rare birdie there and some solid Neutron Matrix, Cottonwood Buzzz, and Megasoft Shield drives throughout the round. It was fun!"

Matthew Hull 44 - Regular tees, 18 holes "I played a LOT better on this fine Christmas Eve afternoon than I did a couple of days ago! My Cottonwood Buzzz and Glo Roach drives/upshots were worlds better today (probably because there was very little wind...at least early on) and I just felt in a good place physically/mentally which is always important. :) I did bring my Falcon Servo and Star Rat discs for those dependable fade/hyzer throws although I somewhat regret bringing my Servo (got a couple of nasty dings thanks to the STUPID concrete areas that surround every basket). I did throw both of those discs really well though. The Star Rat is even starting to grow on me. I really like how smooth that disc feels in my hand."

Matthew Hull 44 - Regular tees, 18 holes "While I had to endure the ultimate grind to snag a couple of Aces on Saturday (the 22nd), it didn't take long for me to find paydirt today as I threw my Cottonwood Buzzz perfectly on Hole #11! I had hardly even thrown that disc on #11 (my Neutron Envy and Megasoft Shield have hit the line so well on that hole) but I just felt good throwing my "Ace King" disc today and it didn't disappoint! I actually released it with less velocity than I wanted which is probably why it winded up going right in for the Ace. It was a happy mistake for sure! That Ace really saved my round too because I rode the momentum the remainder of the round."

Matthew Hull 40 - Regular tees, 18 holes "WOW!! Were it not for a couple of hiccups on Holes #2 and 3, my personal record of 15 under would have fallen today! I actually found myself throwing my KC Roc quite a bit and I am liking that disc more and more as I get a feel for the line it wants to hit. I alternated between that disc and my Cottonwood Buzzz and honestly, both discs really want to hit similar lines which is a good thing! I came very close on Hole #7 as my KC Roc hit a combination of the bottom lip and just glanced off the chains to the left of the basket. My Star Rat is hitting a really smooth line on both Holes #6 and 16 as well."

Matthew Hull 40 - Regular tees, 18 holes "To put it plainly, purely stupidity on my part cost me here because this round was looking like one of those near perfect rounds out @ Winton Woods. It's such a shame because looking back, I absolutely should have ended at 16 or 17 under par. I had a weird drive on #4 with my G Star Wraith that didn't look very good (didn't turn like I wanted and faded left) but somehow made it far enough to give me a puncher's chance 25 ft. putt (which I made). How I failed on Holes #9 and 10 is anyone's guess though. Ugh! In any case, my drives/upshots were fantastic and I was riding some real consistency at this point. Overall, it was a great round!"

Matthew Hull 43 - Regular tees, 18 holes "I had my share of close calls today but the one that really stung with my Claymore drive on #7. I threw it darn near perfectly and it hit the EXACT line I was hoping to hit. It went flying towards the basket, faded just right, and hit the freaking bottom lip. UGH!! I should start calling the top millimeter of the bottom lip the Ace Thief or something along those lines. Lol! It was a solid round overall but dang...I have now hit the bottom lip like 3-4 times on that hole all-time...without hitting it yet. Gotta love it..."

Matthew Hull 42 - Regular tees, 18 holes "I really hung in there during this round because by this point, I was getting tired (and COLD) but there is just something about disc golf that makes it so difficult to stop at times you know? Anyway, I had a few good par saves actually and obliterated the last six holes again. I definitely feel that the back nine is easier than the front nine @ Winton Woods. Granted, it is a fairly simple course overall but Hole #3 seems to really get me and #4 can be tricky if you screw up your drive (which I have been doing a LOT since the weather turned chilly)."

Matthew Hull 47 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Yuck!! This round along with the next two didn't quite go as planned. My accuracy of all things was erratic as heck and my putting was pretty poor as well. However, it wasn't all bad because..."
-7
Matthew Hull 47 - Regular tees, 18 holes "My Neutron Envy strikes yet again! That disc is LOVING Winton Woods right now! Although the rest of the round was REALLY weak, I had a sweet straight throw on #9 with my Neutron Envy that was *just* high enough to snag the Ace there. That's the throw I will remember from this otherwise "meh" round. ;)"
-8
Matthew Hull 46 - Regular tees, 18 holes "YEAH!! One round after snagging an Ace on #9, my Glo Roach was able to collect an Ace on #11! I wasn't quite sure I could hit the line exactly (my Roach tends to drift to the right and not really fade to the left at all) but I put just the right amount of touch on my throw so that the Roach hit the gap just narrowly missing the tree to the right and getting just enough fade to go right into the basket! I really wanted to see if I could hit the line with the Roach and it worked out great!"

Matthew Hull 50 - Regular tees, 18 holes "What an incredibly LONG day of disc golf this turned out to be! I literally woke up at 6AM just itching to get outside and play so I headed to Winton Woods in search of Ace #70. :) I met up with a really cool guy named Dan who was visiting family in the area and we winded up playing a couple rounds together which was very cool. It was fun despite the fact that neither one of us played well in this first round. It was 32 degrees when I got there and got up to maybe 40 degrees by the afternoon with a light wind so the weather wasn't too bad."
-7
Matthew Hull 47 - Regular tees, 18 holes "I definitely felt better during Dan and I's second round although what is UP with me getting these 4's?! That is ridiculous! Ha, ha... I actually threw my Claymore, Neutron Matrix, Patrol, and Star Mako quite a bit although the Patrol was especially squirrel-y today. To say that disc is understable is the understatement of the century! I went with the Neutron Envy, Megasoft Shield, and Glo Roach a ton though and overall, I like the way I played."
-8
Matthew Hull 46 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Well, for seven holes, this round looked really good! My Neutron Envy found a sweet line on #1 as did my Roach on #2 (just wide right of the basket) and my Patrol somehow hit a halfway decent line (I had some LUCKY tosses with the Patrol on that hole today. One of them turned and burned and rolled just between a couple of trees landing 10 ft. from the basket. I'll take it though!) My Neutron Matrix hit really good lines on #6 and #16 (a disc I had never brought to Winton Woods before today)."
-11
Matthew Hull 43 - Regular tees, 18 holes "For the most part, this round was excellent! My Neutron Envy hit some sweet lines on #7 and 8, the Roach was good enough on #9 (my upshot Roach throw was really off today...it kept drifting hard to the right) and my Star Mako was solid on #13. Don't ask about #16 though. I released my Neutron Matrix early and it hit the trees/bushes to the left and my lie was simply dreadful!"
-9
Matthew Hull 45 - Regular tees, 18 holes "This was another solid round...with the exception of my absolutely horrific play on #12. My Nuke S.S. hit what looked like a great line but the tree that is hidden behind another tree deflected the Nuke way to left. My Patrol upshot almost escaped the trees before hitting the last tree it needed to avoid sending it BACK to the left. By the end of the wreckage known as Hole #12, I had my first 5 at Winton Woods since who knows how long. At least the rest of the round was solid..?"
-13
Matthew Hull 41 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Now that's the sort of round I want to see on here more often! ;) Forget those mediocre 4 and 5 under rounds...give me -13 baby! I love the way that I was able to find consistency with my upshots and putting this particular round. I really like the way I was able to putt with the Roach today (although I hit the bottom lip of the baskets quite a bit before making the necessary adjustments). Also, after getting 3's on ALL five of my previous rounds today, I wisely went with the Megasoft Shield on the super short #11 and just threw a gentle hyzer. It didn't snag the Ace but I didn't get a freaking THREE either! :)"
-13
Matthew Hull 41 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Sweetness!! Back-to-back 13 under rounds is what I wish to see much more often @ Winton Woods. As long as I remain focused and take my time, rounds like these are possible. Even though I was starting to struggle with focus by this point. this round was fantastic! I threw my Neutron Envy a TON today and it hit some really solid lines (although it does like to hyzer out so you have to put enough meat behind the throw). My drive of the round, however, was my G Star Wraith on #12 as I nailed the line I wanted! I just *barely* missed the tree line and got enough turn/fade to where my Wraith landed 15 ft. to the left of the basket! I hardly ever deuce this hole so to pull this off during an already hot round was very satisfying!"
-7
Matthew Hull 47 - Regular tees, 18 holes "At least I finished the last five holes strong? Around this point was where my focus started to wane quite a bit. You have to understand that I started at 8AM this morning...and it was around 3PM by now. Yes, I went CRAZY today! Ha, ha!"
-11
Matthew Hull 43 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Another solid round overall (with a slight blemish on Hole #12)."
-7
Matthew Hull 47 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Not much to report here. I had a few good tosses but nothing extraordinary."
-10
Matthew Hull 44 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Oh so close! On an morning/afternoon with very few close calls in the way of spit-outs/basket hits, I darn near found chains on #14 with my Neutron Envy. I hit a wonderful line, the disc faded slightly, and it hit the top of the bottom lip/slight chains on the left side of the basket before deciding NOT to land in the basket. To add insult to injury, I missed my putt. I thought it was in...or perhaps I was just too optimistic."
-14
Matthew Hull 40 - Regular tees, 18 holes "WOW!! I seriously didn't think it was going to happen but I finally found chains on the super short Hole #11 with my Claymore!! I just relaxed and put together a throw very similar to my first Ace of 2018 (same disc on the same hole...how about that?) It was actually quite fitting and, despite the super short distance, made Ace #70 one that I will remember for a long, long time. What a journey it has been in 2018! And it isn't over quite yet! The rest of the round went GREAT too! I literally parked my Neutron Envy and Neutron Matrix 2-3 ft. from the Hole #5 and 6 baskets which was way cool and I summoned the last of my strength to put my last Roach putts in the baskets. I made a stellar 35 ft. putt on #13 after a horrible Claymore drive (that is what I get for overthrowing my Ace disc during the round it got the Ace) and really played well overall. It was a satisfying end to a wonderful day (and a true GRIND) of disc golf. I started during sunrise...and finished during sunset. That's a FULL day my friend! A full day indeed!"
-6
Matthew Hull 48 - Regular tees, 18 holes "This round is one that I actually started on the 22nd and completed on the 24th! It was in the upper 30's but at least it was sunny on Christmas Eve. After enjoying a wonderful IHOP meal with my wife and son, I enjoyed playing a whole bunch of rounds out at Winton Woods! I played very well too! Although this round was DEFINITELY a warm-up round. Ha, ha!"
-14
Matthew Hull 40 - Regular tees, 18 holes "This is another round that I had to actually complete on the 24th due to darkness on the 22nd. But my goodness was it ever a great round? I snagged another smooth Ace on Hole #11 with my Neutron Envy! However, my drive on #12 with my G Star Wraith was spectacular! All of a sudden, I feel that I have a go-to driver for that hole because I am suddenly snagging the occasional deuce on this long and tricky hole!"

Matthew Hull 44 - Regular tees, 18 holes "Today is a day I am going to remember for a long, long time! I would wind up playing TEN rounds of disc golf @ Winton Woods and boy do I feel it as I type this? Wow! It was a fun time though as I slogged through the mud (LOT of rain on Saturday) on a brisk 45 degree Sunday afternoon and I literally left everything out there today. I had a perfect start as I snagged some sweet birdies early on along with a smooth Roach putt after putting together a fantastic Trespass (hot pink disc my friend Jon gave me!) drive on #4. However, my accuracy definitely became an issue and for some odd reason, I REALLY struggled with my Cottonwood Buzzz in particular (kept going way to the right). I guess every disc will have the occasional "off" day, right? At least I salvaged a nice 10 under finish."
-6
Matthew Hull 48 - Regular tees, 18 holes "My accuracy issues became REALLY apparently during this round. I did recover nicely towards the end though. I had a Star Mako drive on #13 that felt so smooth and hit the Ace line...until the last little stretch of flight where it dipped and landed low."
-10
Matthew Hull 44 - Regular tees, 18 holes "My Patrol definitely seems to hit the line you want on #3 consistently. It was pretty solid today!"
