Emotionally as this was the course I played since a kid and sold the discs back in 87-90 at Crows nest I have a warm spot for this course. The elevations are cool and you can play from shorts or long. The course has been redone. It was way harder back in the day and is now easier but glad some care is being put into as it needed some love. The neighborhood isn’t that bad lol and lock your car wherever you are c’mon. This Course helped make world champions so y’all better recognize! Lol now imagine 500 people playing at night with some glow?? Exactly good old days

Was in Chicago for the 2016 Riot Fest so we played a few local courses. We were loving the courses in IL so much that we skipped day two of the festival to play disc golf! We had started with The Canyons and Highland Park, and then made our way for 24 more at West Park (Ferris and Belleview in Joliet). This was an older course established in 1979, and the pars on the signs were way off (par 4's shown where contemporary scores would have par 2's!). Giving this a B as it wasn't quite as picturesque as the other courses, not quite as well maintained, not as easy to follow - but still a recommended course and glad that we made it out!

The oldest existing Disc Golf course in Illinois. I think built in 1979 by Ed Headrick. The course was showing its age. The locals and Joliet have stepped up and put some serious love into the course. Fresh new pads greet you and new Chainstar pro baskets. You can play from the long tees or the shorts. Not in the best neighborhood so be careful and lock up your stuff in your car. If you play a glow round here, notify your next of kin on where they can bury the body. You will have fun here , navigation is fairly easy to find the next hole, ask to play with or follow a local. Play this course to honor the history of Disc Golf. The course is much shorter now, and much friendlier to noobs and intermediate players. You can tell the new design was done by an experienced disc golfer, fun layout. Always amazed by the elevation here, as this is smack dab in the middle of the Midwest. I really liked Ole West Park, but there is a lot to love about new West Park. Every time I play here, it is like running into an old friend. Good times await!!
