Jeff G 68 - Posted Layout on Classic - 2017, 18 holes "Played a morning foursome. It was sunny, starting at 60 degrees. Raymond was +1. Rodney was +7. Ronald was +9. I was +8. I played better than my score indicated with a double bogey on Hole 3 and a triple bogey on Hole 18. I putted average within the circle. I made a few 25 footers but missed a 20 footer on Hole 3 and 4 putted on Hole 18. On Hole 18, I putted up hill from 20 feet and hit the basket twice with the disc rolling downhill 20 feet, twice and then two putted from there. Raymond played a decent round. Rodney was a little rusty but had an amazing drive on Hole 14. His drive was over a creek, from the side of one hill to the side of another, under and through a low ceiling. He put it within 8 feet of the Hole. Ronald was under 10."

Jeff G 70 - Posted Layout on Classic - 2017, 18 holes "Played a morning threesome. It was mostly sunny, starting at 70 degrees. Raymond was -1. RONALD WAS -1. I Did Not Finish due to injury. I was +5 after 6 Holes. My injury DNF is not remarkable. Worth noting was that Ronald was under par for the first time, without any mulligans. I had a 2-Meter Rule penalty on my drive on Hole 2. I slipped on Hole 4 and twisted a knee and hurt my left wrist when I fell. I finished the Hole and played two more before some swelling around my wrist forced me to withdraw. I filled out my Hole by Hole score based on pars for the course and My Stats for Shaver. I average about 9 over par on Shaver. It would be nice to have a DNF or Withdraw option for the Hole by Hole scores. Raymond threw a good round at -1."

Jeff G 72 - Posted Layout on Classic - 2017, 18 holes "Played a morning threesome. It was mostly sunny, humid, starting at 73 degrees. Raymond was -1. Ronald was +10. I was +12. The round was approximately 1 hour, 10 minutes. I threw my Mamba on most of my drives. It is still flying stable to overstable; I spent some time in the trees after a few drives faded too much, late. I played better than my score indicated. I had a double bogey on Holes 2, 10, 15 and a triple bogey on 3. On Holes 2 and 3, I ended up in the trees and had trouble getting out. On Hole 10, I took a penalty stroke with the 2-Meter Rule when my disc got stuck, 20 feet up in a tree, on my second toss; I was able to retrieve the disc. On Hole 15, my disc got legs and rolled about 30 feet from the Hole after my midrange putt landed next to the pin. Raymond threw a good round. Ronald threw his typical +10."

Jeff G 72 - Posted Layout on Classic - 2017, 18 holes "Played a morning threesome; We all played regular. It was partly sunny, humid, and 72 degrees. Raymond was Even. Ronald was +10. I was +12. The course was wetter than usual after overnight rains. The round was approximately 1 hour, 20 minutes. My Mamba isn't broken in yet and is flying stable to overstable; I spent some time in the trees after driving with my Mamba. I didn't play very well today. On Hole 17, my disc found some water in the creek after my second toss hit a tree. Ronald was able to find it by wading into the creek. Searching for the disc took about 10 minutes. Raymond threw a good round. Ronald threw his typical +10."

Jeff G 66 - Posted Layout on Classic - 2017, 18 holes "Played a morning threesome; We all played regular. It was sunny and humid, ranging from 75 degrees to 79 degrees. Raymond was +2. Ronald was +10. I was +6. The round was approximately 1 hour, 10 minutes. I used my new Mamba with an anhyzer tilt on at least three holes and used my Roadrunner with an anhyzer tilt on at least two holes. Neither really flexed very well so I will keep practicing with them. I used my other drivers on the first throw of Hole 11, Hole 12, and Hole 18. On Hole 16, I threw into the woods on my drive and it didn't get much better after that. My second and third shots hit trees as I was trying to throw through the woods. I ended with a double bogey. Otherwise, my approach shots were good. I also putted well within the circle. Raymond threw a good round. Ronald started out throwing very well with some excellent drives. He lost his way a little bit toward the end."

Ronald was +10. I was +6. The round was approximately 1 hour, 10 minutes. I used my Roadrunner with an anhyzer tilt on at least five holes with moderate success. I found that if my arm angle was too high when I reached back before release, the disc would pop up and fly too high. I made an adjustment and started the disc below my right shoulder instead of at my right shoulder. This worked. I used my other drivers on the first throw of Hole 11, Hole 12, and Hole 18. My approach shots were good so I did not have to putt very far from the pin on most Holes. On putts of any length within the circle, I was average. Raymond had few double bogeys on the front nine but played even on the back nine. Ronald had a decent round."

Jeff G 64 - Posted Layout on Classic - 2017, 18 holes "Played a morning foursome: We all played regular. It was sunny and cool, starting at 62 degrees. Raymond was even. Ronald was +12. Rodney was even. I was +4. The round was approximately 1 hour, 20 minutes. I took my new Roadrunner to the driving range/field and it still flew pretty stable. So I made an adjustment and threw it with an anhyzer tilt. It still did not turn over, but flew with just enough S (I'm left handed) that I got another 50 feet of distance out my throws. I also weighed my friend's Roadrunner that I had tested and it was only 2 grams lighter than my disc. So I am going to stick with the disc that I have for the time being. I used my Roadrunner with an anhyzer tilt on at least five holes with good success. I used my other drivers on the first throw of Hole 11, Hole 12, and Hole 18. I missed a bunny for birdie on Hole 8 or 9. But I made a 70 foot toss for birdie on Hole 16. I putted well within the circle, otherwise. Raymond played a good round. Ronald struggled in all facets of his game. He watched a few putts roll 20 feet away after hitting the pin. He has been consistent between +10 and +13 the past few rounds. Rodney putts well. He spent most of the Front 9 scrabbling for par but ended up even for the round."

Jeff G 71 - Posted Layout on Classic - 2017, 18 holes "Played a morning fivesome: We all played regular. It was initially foggy with the sun peeking through at the end of the round - 67 to 74 degrees and humid. Raymond was +6. Ronald was +12. Donald was +16. Hudson was +32. I was +11. The round was approximately 1 hour, 40 minutes. My new Roadrunner is still not responding very well, flying stable. I will take it to the driving range/field and throw it there. If I don't see any improvement I will get a lighter Roadrunner. I used my driver three times, on the first throw of Hole 11, Hole 12, and Hole 18. I had two layup putts that dropped underneath the pin and then got legs: I was left down the hill and outside the circle on one putt. Later, I missed a bunny, that gave me a bogey. Raymond played a casual round at +6. Ronald had a few bad holes with double bogeys, but played well for not having an extra disc or mulligan to throw. Donald looked like he was beginning to get the hang of it: he threw few decent drives; began to put some good spin on the disc; shaped a few shots; and kept himself out of the rough/trees. Hudson also showed some improvement."

Jeff G 70 - Posted Layout on Classic - 2017, 18 holes "Played a morning fivesome: We all played regular; Sunny, warm, and humid. Raymond was even. Ronald was +6. Donald was +20. Hudson was +37. I was +10. It was Donald and Hudson's first time. The round was approximately 1 hour, 30 minutes. My new Roadrunner is not responding very well, flying stable to over stable throughout its flight path. Nor is it responding like the Roadrunner I tested before purchase. It is designed to fly under stable right after release and transition to stable as it slows. I had a similar experience with my Dart. However, the new Dart wanted to fly under stable rather than straight like the other Dart I used for three months. I will keep working on them. I may need to purchase a lighter Roadrunner to get more speed at release to get it to fly under stable. I only used my driver three times, on the first throw of Hole 11, Hole 12, and Hole 18. I had to use my driver to get over a fallen tree, lying across the fairway on Hole 18. I did not putt well within the circle, missing at least three putts of around 20 feet that would have saved par. We had notified the people at Shaver of some fallen trees. The Grounds People cleared the fallen tree that blocked one of the tee pads, but left the fallen tree that blocked the 18th Fairway. - We played around it -."

Jeff G 72 - Posted Layout on Classic - 2017, 18 holes "Played a morning twosome: Raymond played regular; and I PLAYED, FOR MY FIRST TIME, REGULAR. Sunny, 77 to 82 degrees, and humid. Raymond was -4. I was +12. The round was 1 hour, 18 minutes. I played with my new Roadrunner and Nova discs along with my mid-range and other putter discs. I had not played in over two weeks and was a little rusty, especially on my putting. Again, I only used my driver twice, once on the first throw of Hole 11 and again on Hole 12. Raymond looked good. I struggled without my usual mulligan on every hole. We had storms yesterday afternoon and there were some more trees down. I don't know if it was from yesterdays storm but they should be cut and cleared as some of the downed trees were across fairways and tee pads. Granted some downed trees add to the character of the course, but one totally blocked the 18th Fairway up to about 12 feet high and another shortened the tee pad by a few feet, blocking any follow through when driving. We will try notify somebody from the City of the problem as they might not know."

Jeff G 64 - Posted Layout on Classic - 2017, 18 holes "Played a late afternoon threesome: Raymond played regular; Ronald played best of two discs; and I played California style. Partly cloudy, 81 to 82 degrees, with a stiff breeze. Raymond was +5. Ronald was +2. I was +4. The round was 1 hour, 30 minutes. I played primarily with my mid-range and putter discs. This seemed to work better for me as I was a little short on my throws but able to keep my discs in the fairway. I only used my driver twice, once on the first throw of Hole 11 and again on Hole 12. I putted well within the circle. Raymond was +5 but I think he was taking it easy on us. Ronald played well on the back nine, posting a -1 to go with his +3 on the front nine. On the front nine, the wind caused his hyzer putting style significant trouble. The wind died down during the back nine."

Jeff G 68 - Posted Layout on Classic - 2017, 18 holes "05/24 - Verified the posted length of the holes with lengths on the "Posted Layout on Classic - 2017". Lengths were OK. Will check Hole 5 again. Played a morning threesome: Raymond played regular; Ronald played best of two discs; and I played California style. Overcast, misty and 64 degrees. There was wet grass from overnight rains and the creeks had some water. Raymond was +1. Ronald was +3. I ended my round on Hole 16 for a Did Not Finish. I was at +8 at the time, looking at another bogey. The round was 1 hour, 40 minutes. Again, this course is too narrow for beginners. I tried throwing a shorter, straighter, mid-range disc, with moderate success. I putted average within the circle, when I had a chance. Raymond was -1 on the front nine and played the back nine even until the final hole, where he double bogeyed. He was driving and putting well. Ronald was even on the front nine and also double bogeyed the last hole."

Jeff G 64 - Posted Layout on Classic - 2017, 18 holes "05/22 - I added a new course layout to the website to reflect the posted pars on the signs at each hole on the course. I will verify the length of each hole next time out and correct the lengths on the website. Played a morning foursome: Raymond played regular, Ronald played best of two discs, Cruise played best of two discs, and I played California style. Overcast, 70 degrees and muggy. There was wet grass from overnight rains but the creeks were empty. Raymond was even. Ronald was +2. I was +4. Cruise was +24 but this was his first time playing. The round was 2 hours, 5 minutes. This course has proved to be too narrow to get any length on my left hand, back hand drives. I am going have to throw a shorter, straighter, mid-range disc on some of my drives. Then throw a straight, long range disc that has late fade, to navigate some of the dog leg rights. I putted well within the circle. Raymond was -2 on the front nine. He was driving and putting well. He also had some fortuitous bounces of some trees on his drives. Ronald played best of two to compensate for throwing in a stationary position. Cruise played well for his first time out but he made over 160 throws today. He might be sore tomorrow."

Jeff G 68 - Posted Layout on Classic - 2017, 18 holes "Played a morning foursome: we all played California style. I didn't put well, requiring and missing with my mulligan on several holes.
