Set in the Drumheller badlands, Midland Provincial Park is a very well laid out course, although there is little to no course maintenance. I played the course with my Father (62), Brother (28), and Son (12), all of whom are new to the game, and we played with a variety of mid-range discs. My brother and I played from the long tee's, while my father and son tee'd off from the second box and I found that even with my mid-range discs well played second and third shots could par out, although there is a lot of risk surrounding the tones. There is a lot of hilly hiking with no established trail, so wear good hiking shoes, and a lot of badlands scrub brush, sage, and some cacti, so looking for discs was slower. I would not recommend brand new players start with this course, perhaps traveling to Three Hills to practice honing their skills, that said I quite enjoyed my rounds and the only real draw back was the serious bush whacking, and occasional hill scrambles that we needed to do. These concerns could be minimized with some courses maintenance over the coming years.
