Is the basket on hole 23 still missing? I played it in May and am going up again in a couple of months.

If you have not played this course get ready for just a wee bit of elevation change.

Marc LaFleur   July 11, 2015 at 6:50am

This is the best time of day to play hickory hills. You will avoid the throngs of casuals early in the morning .

Nick L   July 14, 2015 at 10:41pm

sorry i missed your note...the course was everything i hoped it would be. huge elevation changes and cool layout. i figured i would be the only one out there until someone (doug) scared the sh!t out of me on hole one. i had a good time even though i did not shoot great.

I am from out of town and am looking to play Hickory this Sunday. Any locals want to meet up and show me your course? I am a solid but older player.

Looking for a course in the Traverse City area that would be good to take my wife and 5 year old son to. I was gonna come out to Hickory Hills but I don't know if they would enjoy these elevation changes.

Both are great. I really enjoy Log Lake as well. Especially nice on a hot, sunny day. A nice canopy keeps you playing in the shade most of the round.

Bill Fuller   June 1, 2015 at 9:57pm

Brandon both of thoes courses are nice but if you don't really want to go to far from traverse there is Terrace Park it is listed on disc golf scene I have not played it yet but the holes are not really long I here it's fun. If you check disc golf scene it list all the courses for traverse city

Marc LaFleur   June 1, 2015 at 10:46pm

you should also look into udisc. I travel quite a bit around the country and use this app often. I have found many courses easily that I never would have found otherwise.Marc's UDisc Dashboard http://www.udiscapp.com/getUDisc

there was no hostility intended... How am i to know that you were joking? You didnt say you were joking. I cannot imply mood from generic text any more than you can mine. Sorry for the confusion.

No worries. I should probably brush up on my social media skills.

I'm new at this and was wondering how I go about playing at this particular course. Is there a contact person I need to talk to about playing or do I just show up and play? Are there fees to play here?

Just show up , great course , lots of fun and huge elevation. Make sure to stop at tillys disc golf and party store. It's just a few blocks down the street.

Robert Moering   June 18, 2014 at 6:55am

Excellent, thanks. I will make sure to stop by Tillys too. How long does it take to play the course?

Marc LaFleur   June 18, 2014 at 1:40pm

Depends on the size of your group of course but I played it last summer starting at 7:00 am and got done about 2 hours later. I was in no big hurry and had no one in front or behind me.
