In my top 5 courses in Michigan. Huge variation in shots and greens. Multiple elevation changes on at least half of the holes and deuces are not easy. Brutal workout. Go play this course.

my favorite course, difficult, makes you throw all kinds of different shots, great workout and if you dont like the hills its because you're out of shape... definately bring a drink or two... beautiful course

Havent played a ton of course but I would be surprised to hear that there are many courses that are better/more difficult. Little bit of everything here. Most fun holes are throwing down the hills.

Great course, Great views.. had a blast. lots of walking up and down hills but more then worth it for the variety of shots that you get.. Skyy Dogg hated us at the end of the round but will return. played 2 other new course this weekend and this one by far was my favorite

Course was great. Tons of elevation with a mix of open and wooded holes. Short tee pads on some holes and incorrect map direction on tee signs are my only cons.

Awesome, though extremely physically demanding, course! Very well marked, with helpful arrows keeping you on the right track everywhere you need them to be. If some of the concrete pads were full length, this course gets A+ from me.

Great Course and even better workout. Pack a lunch, its a big walk! Played it again this year and enjoyed it even more. Parking hole 18 on my upshot for a drop in par was the high light! You really need to stay disciplined on this course.

This is easily one of the best courses in Michigan. All sorts of shots, tons of elevation (for a Michigan course). Great workout to be gained by completing a round. Cement Tees with Brooms. Garbage cans at most holes. Seating/rest areas mixed in on some Tees.

first time i played this course and it was raining, even so pretty sick of a course. four hours away and i really didn't know what to except but truly a nice disc golf course. really nice layout, but i missed 18? i didn't see the teepad for that. did see the basket for 18 tho once i got to hole 19. other than that huge up hill and down hill shots. brooms on like half of the teepads. pretty long course it took us a couple of hours, maybe the rain, can't wait to go back and play this course when its nice out. when you do play 19 shoot to hole 1s basket way more fun

Set on a ski hill this course has a great deal of elevation change. challenging basket placement makes for some tough putts. There are a good mix of short and long and up or downhill shots. Be ready for a hike as you play up then down then up and back down this large ski resort hill. Cement tee pads and garbage cans on every hole are nice. Some of the tee pads are shorter than others and the short ones are annoying. Scoring well here requires playing well in all parts of your game. There are nic ...

One of my favorite courses. Great mix of open and tight, left and right, uphill and downhill. You'll use your whole bag and repertoire on this one. Arrows to next tees are very helpful, as are the steps up to the 16th tee. The course is well maintained and expertly laid out; a must play if you are in the area.

Worth the drive for sure. Pushed a disc gold cart through the entire course, and it was friendly for such, as some courses are not. This allowed us to stock up on water for the long haul. Hard to find much elevation in S.E. MI where I hail from, so the hills were a welcomed characteristic. On a weekend, we only seen two other groups on the main course all day, and weather was perfect.
Longer tee pads would be helpful, but a little adversity goes a long ways, deal with it skippies.

Wow. Lace up your shoes and don't forget to stay hydrated. This course is a beautiful challenging hike. You don't just play up but up and back down repeat and all over the place. Bring your big arm and stay with disc's you know the best. Not the place for beginners or those in bad shape. Had a great round, -2 that I credit to being patient, taking short and frequent breaks. I must have taken 50 photos, this place is absolutely gorgeous. I'll be back without a doubt. Hanson Hills is a worthy destination for any disc golf/ nature enthusiast.

Good use of ski slopes. Do remember to bring water, even if it is not that hot. Also remember to donate, the sign is not that obvious. Interesting choice to have 19 holes, but I am so glad the last one is there -- got one of my few pars on the course.

Starts off easy enough but longer holes, challenging lines await you on the long pads. Known as the flat course, there are a few elevated tee pads. I found this layout very serine, relaxing and enjoyable. Fine care has been taken with the cement tee pads, and broom accompanying mostly all if not missing. Loved it, would have played 36 but time didn't allow.

Well maintained course with lots of options. Multiple tees & pin positions. Nice tee pads with great signage. Nearly every hole had a broom. Sweet touch. And it seemed there were benches on every hole as well. The navigation wasn't bad, but there were moments of having to search. Some holes did have next tee indicators, but not all. Overall a course I really liked.

This course is awesome, plays through huge hills that you throw up and down. You feel like you are out in the woods the whole time unlike Freeland where it just feels like you are in a park. Plenty of holes that you drive off the top of hills, if it wasn't for the huge amount of wind I would have had a better score, but even with shooting a 9 I had a great time and would recommend this course to anyone that knows how to drive a disc far.

Hanson Hill's Rotary course is an incredible experience to say the least. Designed to be challenging and not for the faint of heart; this course requires you to walk up, down, and around the major ski hills and more on the Hanson Hills property. Take your time, and don't rush a shot just because the tee pad is right there and ready for the taking after your arduous climb. Catch your breath and take a sip of water. Did I mention you NEED water? Don't get caught out here without hydration, it's a ...

Nice course from both tee pads. Shorter, flatter and easier than the rotary course. Will make you feel better about yourself after playing the big course. This course has added sleeves to be able to move the baskets to longer and harder hole locations. This course is awesome when the baskets are in there original locations but it is much less than desirable in most of the new locations. To long, to hard, and the fun factor is gone also. A beginner, woman or child would probably never play disc golf again after attempting to play this course with the baskets in the new locations. Even from the short teepads. I'm not a fan of what they've done.

The Pine Knoll has undergone many changes over the past couple years! It now features 36 permanent pins and the Hanson Hills Disc golf club has done great work cleaning up numerous holes that have grown in a lot since the course was put in. An Advanced/Open (Blues) pad and a Recreational pad (Whites) on every hole make the course accessible and fun for all skill levels! Nothing but good things to say!

Mostly flat and relatively open on the back 9, only shooting through a couple tight tree gaps, both from shorts and longs. Great quick round course if you are just passing through. Easy to navigate. All concrete tees and chainstar baskets. FREE course on a great property. fortunately I was able to throw a couple dollars in a donation box.

Upon first glance, this is an exciting course to be at, there is a lot of filling to be done, but it was real disappointing when we got to the 8th hole and the basket was missing, then the same on the 9 th hole. We went over to the pro course and the first three baskets were missing there too. I wish people would respect what they had, that was given to them for free.

Pros: cement pads were nice, course was pretty easy to navigate. Course wasn't busy at all, and was well-maintained.
Cons: most of the holes were just long, fairly straight shots. The only variability was throwing up or down hills. The flight paths on the tee signs didn't always match up with reality, either.
Overall decent course. I'd play here again.

Similar to what others have said, the course starts off fun and interesting, then just becomes monotonous. The back 9 felt like long, straight hole after long, straight hole. Teepads and signage were great, love the 2 different tees and alternate basket locations, but after hole 12 or so I was ready to be done.
