State parks and recreation areas currently remain open to provide residents with local opportunities to get outdoors; however, extensive travel should be minimal – and reserved only for essenti ... more

The entrance is for the State Park side of Fort Custer - entrance is near Augusta at this Lat/Lon: 42.334476, -85.338408 - note: I know baskets 1-9 were there last year...never did find 10-18 though :(

Maps at hole 1 are accurate up to hole #9. Couldn't find the second half of the course nor a second set of 18. Talked to the ranger and he said there's only one 18 hole course and that someone who manages it was changing it up this year, so maybe the other half is relocated? Anyone have any other info?

Based on the maps, #9 ends at the bottom of a hill right on the lake in the trees (NE of the beach near the Eagle Lake Boat launch), and that is where we ended. The map shows #10 as being up the road from that boat launch, didn't find a tee spot but found the pin hole for the basket...I'd love to get out there and play the whole round sometime.

Beach....what beach? I have trained on Main post and don't remember a "beach".

Fort Custer also has a State Park, less than a mile outside of August off M-96. Entrance is nearly across the street from the Cemetery.

Apparently hole seven is a road now because the entrance to the park is under construction. Didnt go down and check the situation because I didn't want to get run over. Not sure when things will be normal again. My only concern is there is a doubles tournament there in October.

The fairways are fair. 4 holes through the woods, 4 holes through tight foliage, 10 relatively open holes. 8 holes at 400 or longer, 2 of those around 600.

Are the fairways fair or r there a bunch of luck holes?

chad curtis    September 20, 2011 at 5:51pm

Mowed fairways, long, heavy rough. Some holes play around a beach area so water is in play on a few holes. Fairly flat, some long holes. Some holes are pretty nasty if you get off the fairway.
