---------------- update - April 2014 ---------------------
well it's been a few years since i updated a review on here. actually, i forgot my password to recently and just didn't bother to figure it out.
didn't change my review since again, up and downs. A couple holes are now more difficult and longer (#4 blue, #7 white), which makes it better for the pros. not that i'm a pro. then again, some easy options could make this course great, but it's not being done.
new hole #4 is nice from the blue. almost impossible 2, and a deceptive 3 with the creek in the way. i think that warrants a bump up by adding some distance aside from holes 16 & 18, BUT....i'm still scratching my head on why there are not alternate basket locations. plenty of places to add them. it would add a different look, feel and path you have to throw on almost every hole.
on the bright side, at least those in charge stopped cutting everything down...for now.
---------------- Update - August 2011 ---------------------
now as you can see i didn't change the rating on this course. it got better, but worse all at the same time. even steven. just like my cuz. he plays some mad drums.
start with the good. concrete tee pads. well done. also blues on most holes. also well done. kudos on that. hole 12 is much better. signature hole. great work done by those involved, but, that's it unfortunately.
i'm an artist by trait so i critique more than praise. only way i got better in my career.
i thought back on my original review, how pedestrian, and there really isn't much left and right as i first stated. maybe because i only started playing. just like how big people look when your 5. my son thinks i'm a giant. it's quite awesome. but when he's 16, he'll crush me. that's how it is here. it's a whole lot of straightness. other than 12 and 13, everything is almost dead on with a teenie tiny slight draw or fade. no massive hooks that are pro hard. this could have been amplified with the blues, but wasn't. the pros should be challenged by the pro tees. if i'm not, they won't be. too bad. so sad.
also STOP CUTTING DOWN TREES AND CLEARING BUSHES. completely took away most of the risk/reward on the course. i loved being in junk when i screwed up. thats how you learn NOT to screw up. thats like every time my son fell down when he was learning to walk i put a pillow down. every time i come back and play more stuff is gone. i think one day it'll look like Tunguska.
no tee signs. hmm. really? at least leave the old ones up. great new course additions with no signs to market it? told some friends to play the new course. very excited! they almost kicked me to sleep because they didn't know where to go or what to do. they mentioned the ginormous overcompensating kiosk with no map? a few minutes with illustrator and google maps and its golden.
i could go on but i need to stop before i have an aneurysm. its frustrating when you love the sport and love helping, but there's a lack of communication and outreach with this course. i've unfortunately slowly stopped playing this course due to that. lets turn it around.
------------------ original review -------------------------
now we're in the C's. beautiful. i actually like this course because i play it all the time and don't have to drive very far. i've never played it in the summer so i bet that's gonna suck as i buy stock in calamine lotion before then. good assortment of holes both left and right. much better than a roll of necco wafers. i love the pink ones and what do i get? like 3 of'm. but i do get a bunch of yellows. yellows suck.
just like neccos this course needs multiple tee boxes and they need to be concrete, brick or even a dead yak. just something harder than dirt. half are, half aren't. paved that is, not dead yak's. now that's fine for those rich stuffy guys, but i only have one pair of shoes.
also they need to leave some trees and bushes. cutting trees to make it easier is dum. just make another tee box that's easier. that's just me but i'm usually right. ask anyone.
