If your looking for a winter league I would suggest Fallasburg Winter League on sundays at Fallasburg Park in Lowell or the Chainwreck DGC Thursday League at Garfield Park. Both have ... more

Thanks for a fun year of disc golf it was awesome. I'm sure you've answered this 1,000 times but is they're any chance of adding courses due to Brewer becoming 1 course? ( I know easier scout than done)

Rick Marritt   October 2 at 11:53pm

Yes. We are hoping to add Johnson Park to the schedule next year.

Rick Marritt   October 2 at 11:53pm

Plus, we are hoping to have the Family 9 in at Brewer by then as well.

League members: Bring your appetite tomorrow... there's probably enough meat to feed 200 people. Bring a container for leftover meat if we have any. Bring a little $$$ if you're interested in purchasing stuff the club has in stock, and/or donating for the leftover meat and course improvements ( posts, signs, teach l trash deposit places, etc). I look forward to seeing y'all tomorrow with your player packages and $$ for all High/Low Doubles participants.

Sign in for High/Low Doubles is 10-10:30 tomorrow (9/23/2017) I hope to see you there.

Can't make it either. I've got my paying gig to attend to Monday thru Friday.

Brewer course-work update: This Friday - July 14, is the date for laying the tee pad cement. (The cement company has informed us that this is their best and earliest.) 10 am is the planned start time. Because of our dependence on the cement company timing, it is important that people who can help with the work let Jacob Stahl (DiscBaron- 616-481-9893) know that they will be there on Friday at 10am. Saturday, July 15 (10am) is now the date for basket installation.

All Disc golfers 50 and over… there is only three weeks left to register for the 50+ DGC Senior weekend events at Kent State University which will include a ‘C’ tier disc golf tournament on July 8th and 9th along with plenty of doubles and side events that make this a totally unique disc golf experience. Saturday night will be an open forum of the 50+ Disc Golf Club Annual meeting. Come and hear what is going on and add your 2 cents. Check it out on Disc Golf Scene and hope to see you there.

Hi all,
What awesome news for the new design being approved! In moving forward, I have been looking at league days and tourneys in the area. There are so many now! I am thinking that a great day/time to set our work days is Thursday's from like 4 or 5 until dark. This will not interfere with out local leagues or weekend tourneys in the area and also allow up to get consistent momentum in our clearing and install work. What do you guys think and shall we post it? Thursday 5/4, 5/11, 5 ... more

Brewer Park Discgolf course redesign has been approved by Kent County. This means that we can soon go to the park and start making the needed changes. People, equipment and materials need to be coordinated.
1) This will start with a course inspection by people who would bring the materials and equipment. Those folks and course designers can do this at the earliest date they find mutually convenient.
2) We can now also find the dates all volunteers can come to the park and do the work. The ear ... more

Many of you may have heard about the redesign effort planned for Brewer. The County has given preliminary approval for the use of new wooded sections of the park; final approval will be happening in the next few weeks. We can begin our preparations for the actual hands-on work needed to clear areas for new and expanded holes. This is to take an inventory of the player-community's resources: chain-saws, hand saws, atv (hauling, stump pulling, etc.). If you own or have access to implements th ... more

I still pine over the favorite disc that got swallowed on 16 and then probably snatched by some stingy adolescent. My therapy is with blades and saws...its my pleasure.

Rick Marritt   September 29, 2015 at 8:53pm

LoL! As long as your therapy benefits a course and makes you feel better at the same time, I'm good with it. Your work on courses has appeared good to me. Some people definitely don't have your talent of choice when it comes to course modifications tho.... Arg.

Rick Marritt   September 29, 2015 at 8:54pm

I will admit, some people are even good with their sittin stools....cough cough, Nick Simon.

Hey GRDoD fans! Add our club to your favorites as well? We've been making steady progress improving our home course at Avalanche in Boyne City and there's a great new course in East Jordan as well. Next time you're in northern Michigan please check them out and add course reviews here on the Scene. Thanks! http://www.discgolfscene.com/clubs/Boyne_Valley_DGC
