New Series Layout
Ok, I was going to do three big tournaments but it seems that I just can't depend on the support I was expecting to be there. SO, I am going to use a new platform and have a real series with a bunch of smaller tournaments. Here is the layout for the tournament. The New Series will be a progressive type format. The New Series will be a progressive type format. It is a great way for golfers to have a chance at improving and opens the field to see some new faces getting paid. Handicap leagues always seem to have the same people winning. Not this league!
The events will be every other weekend singles with an 18 hole match and a final nine.
There will be three 4 divisions Rec, Intermediate, Am, and a ladies/juniors
The series will have 8 tournaments lasting for three months
The top three will be cashed out at each event unless there is less than 10 in a division
IF YOU CASH TWICE IN A DIVISION YOU HAVE TO MOVE UP. You can stay in the division of your choice untill you cash two times. That format will improve players game and give everyone a chance to feel what it is like to compete under pressure. It also evens out the field every two weeks.
Cost for the games will be 5 dollars a person and will have division CTPs for one dollar.

Tournament May Be Moved
Looks like our main sponsor decided right before the dead line to back out. I am still thinking of putting the tournament on but it will be without t shirts and instead of prizes we may just do cash. I am not going to have this event sponsored. Sorry no added cash or players packs.

The flyers will start posting next week. This is the last weekend for sponsors to sign up.

Looks like I picked up one new sponsor for sure and two possible. I really think we will be pulling a good amount of support for this tournament. If we play on having some nice sized tournaments here to come, we have to show our sponsors a good show. I will be collecting sponsor money starting on Friday so get ready for an almost full flyer!!!!

We already have our main sponsor which is Water Witch Pools Disc Golf Supplies. We now have two verbal commitments. One is from the local Hopkinsville Newspaper: The Kentucky New Era. That should help the 18 hole course. The other is one from last year, Luigi's Pizza which will also be serving lunch again. 2 big pieces of pizza and a coke for $5.00. Can't beat that!
Randy Harris July 27, 2012 at 7:21pm
The Date of the tournament has changed to the 29th of September because of the butterfly festival.

The unfinished tournament flyer is up. It is still in the works but it will give you all an idea on the things to come. Go to tournaments and check it out.
You will be able to pre register on the site here in a few days. I am currently working on filling up the sponsor spots. I hope to have enough sponsors to pay for all the items in the players pack and maybe get even more great stuff!

Last years tournament was great for the new players. This Fall and Winter we have other objectives. The guys up at North Drive Park in Hop Town are pushing hard for a new 18 hole course. I want the first tournament at War Memorial this year so we can really push and promote the Hopkinsville Tournament. I want to fill up the pads in Hop Town!
Give me a little bit more time and I will give a good update on the Tournaments to come.
