We had 123 players compete in the 2016 Atlanta Bag Tag Finals event. The kick-off weekend for 2017 Atlanta Bag Tag Challenge has been set for March 4th & 5th. Sign up for one of these fun events to secure your place in the league. If you aren't able to stay and play you can either send money for a tag with someone or get your tag and run the day of the event. Really no reason to miss out on the fun.

85 players competed in this years ADGO Match Play Finals to battle it out to conclude this years 10 month season! Congrats to Isaac Robinson for his victory and claiming this years #1 tag among some strong local competition from some of Atlanta's top golfers! We couldn't have had better weather for a December Sunday as the field was electric and pumped all day. Matches started a few minutes after 8am and by 11am the Final 32 along with the ADGO sponsored Doubles were under way! The entire day proceeded MUCH FASTER than expected (ran approx 2 hours ahead of schedule) as a 2nd round of casual doubles started at 2pm while the final pairing was wrapped up by 3pm!

CTPete Charlton started the day off with a skip ACE on hole 2, first throw and hole of the event with a large gallery watching!

I would like to take this time to thank those involved in making my first year as ADGO Bag Tag Administrator a success as I could have not done this on my own.....

Thank you to Bryan Gort for his assistance in filling out the Finals Bracket to help ensure check-in went smooth and Matches started on time! Having required pre-registration and the brackets filled out BEFORE the Finals was CRUCIAL to the days success!

Check-in from 7:15 - 7:40 with the first round starting at 8am sharp!

PREREGISTRATION IS REQUIRED!!!!!
The bracket will be filled out and posted before the day of the tournament.

The tournament will be single elimination Match Play. The Top 32 get paid.

If you are eliminated before the round of 32, you can play in a FREE random draw doubles match with CASH Payout to the Top 5 teams.

The free doubles will start around the same time as the round of 32.

There will also be some sort of food provided for lunch/snacks.

Basically you get 2 chances at winning money and you get free food!

Registration opens DECEMBER 1st at 7pm and closes DECEMBER 10th at 7pm!!!

This new Word Press site has all the functionality, flexibility and ease of use to our visitors that we just couldn't get with our old site. At the same time we were unable to transfer over the old ADGO "Disc-Cussion Board" to this new venture and for that we apologize.

Membership Info, Affiliate Club links, the Atlanta Area Action Google Calendar and Vendor links are all now AVAILABLE in one convenient central location that will be used to attract future Corporate Sponsors and to those seeking information who are new to our great city.

At 8:00pm on Thursday October 1st the ADGO will begin its 2016 Membership Campaign! We have been fortunate to partner with 10 of the 12 formally organized disc golf clubs across Atlanta to give players throughout 19 metro counties an option to help grow our sport in our communities!

Please take this opportunity to help your local club and courses by joining the ADGO as an Affiliate Member. If you are renewing from 2015 your Membership will roll over on January 1st and if you are a first time Member, you will get a 15 month Membership similar to what the PDGA offers its first timers.

After much deliberation and communication with the GDGO and the Gwinnett Parks and Rec Dept, the decision is being made to hold the ADGO Bag Tag event (#4) at Alexander Park on Sunday at 2pm. LMP has been closed by the Gwinnett County Parks and Rec until further notice. The course has been deemed a SEVERE safety hazard and they will not open it for play until they can assure the public it is 100% safe to enter the course. They anticipate reopening the course by next weekend and will try to the best of their ability to get it open sooner.

I have to express my sincere gratitude to Jason Oherron and Ryan Harris for keeping me informed on accurate and timely information to be able to make this difficult decision less than 48 hours before event time.

Thank you to the Atlanta disc golf community for your understanding and cooperation with this change!

Registration for all FOUR bag tag events go LIVE tonight at 6PM on this page! We have picked four courses in separate areas of Atlanta to make it easier to get a tag with minimal travel to your local course. Please be sure to read over each events description before making a decision on which one you would like to register for. You may only register for ONE of the four events as if you register for 2 or more during the weekend you will be excluded from play for the ENTIRE weekend and will be able to purchase a tag after all four events are complete (pending there are any left).

These events were created to ensure we only have a MAX of 50 players show at each location as to not be over run with players at any one event. We are not trying to coordinate a massive bag tag challenge during kick-off weekend. The purpose of this is to merely get tags distributed to players to start the season.

Make sure you don't wait on registration as all four events are expected to fill up quickly!

Good luck and see everyone on Feb 21st and 22nd!

The renewal amount has been set at $20 for the 2015 calendar year and you will be mailed a "2015 Member" bag tag. Current list of Member benefits are listed below. We are working hard on adding to this list and will update as needed....

2015 Members Benefits:

• 5% Discount on PDGA Membership along with other discounts at participating retailers (http://www.pdga.com/affiliate-club)

The adventure of bringing back the ADGO from the brink of disappearing began in November 2013 with a few conversations ignited by the passion of three individuals. John Ritger, Barry Arnson and myself knew there was a way to bring back "the" organization for disc golf in Atlanta and as they say, the rest is history. Over the past 12 months we have partnered, collaborated and pursued every possible avenue for success in bringing the ADGO back into the mainstream. We have since incorporated three of Atlanta's biggest clubs/organizations as Affiliates and have since started taking Memberships for the first time in over three years! Our 3 year REVIVE plan includes 2014 - REBUILD, 2015 - RELAUNCH and 2016 - REGROW. We are excited to end year one on a positive note and look forward to our Members involvement in making the future bright for the ADGO!
