Dumb question: I've never quite understood the wait list system, so do I have a better chance of getting off the wait list by remaining in MA55, which has fewer spots but only me on the wait list, or moving to MA2 or MA50, which have more spots but more people on the wait lists?

I won’t be available the entire weekend, I’m going to have to withdraw, sorry

Will there be some openings for MA2?
I'm not quite sure what you're asking...the event will not be adding more spots to the overall registration numbers, but the registration list will be modified as players drop out and are replaced by those on the wait list.

Michael B, are you looking for volunteers?

Would it be OK to move from MP50 to MP55?

Hi Michael. I don't see my PDGA # by my name and my membership is Valid through end of February. I think I entered my # wrong while registering. It's #130278.

Do you guys keep good control of people who are dropping from higher levels to intermediate just so they have a better chance at.cashing out or whatever. How fair can it be with people that are obviously better than the rest in a division. “Sandbagging”
Flavio, this has been going on for years. If a players has the rating to play in intermediate, nothing can be done about them playing in that division.
It's not sandbagging if your rating qualifies to play a specific division...
I see well I’m new to the tournament scene but thank you for explaining it. Sorry sandbagging can become a loosely user term, I’m also noticing another reason why some are switching and that’s because of the lack of space in other divisions with less players. So I understand now. Hopefully if I get off the wait list I’ll be able to get a little challenge.

I moved from AM60 to the last spot in Intermediate. I edited it myself already. Move someone off the waitlist.

3 spots available in the MP55 division. For anyone who's interested in throwing some plastic and not being on the waitlist!!! This will be the first time I played in this tournament and to date haven't played the courses! Who's in with me?
Me too Jack, and it will be interesting to see the recent course changes. Trying to find time to go practice in the next 30 days...
Will contact you if I can make that weekend, otherwise will see you there

It's kind of funny that now when we have 7-8 MA60 players at almost every tournament there are only 4 spots available. Who must we lobby to get more spots. Are you trying to push people out of MA60?
hey Michael i see it as you are doing such a good job with your tournaments that more want to get play in them.

Any chance you will open a Pro Master 55+ division. I'm sure there are at least 4 of us wanting to play in this division for this event.
People drop out at random, so there is no "science" to Wait Lists from my experience. I would think being number one on a Wait List is better than any other positions. If you'd like to also be on another Wait List I can add a "placeholder" registration for you. Just let me know the other division you prefer.
That was a very informative and helpful response, Michael. Thank you. MA50, please.
I'll play in MA2, MA1, or any age group for which I'm eligible, Michael, if it'll help me get off the MA55 wait list.
I have a spot in MA2
