@ Steven Welch - I agree, the more the better. But not at the risk of having 300 people on a course at one time when only 114 can only be playing at one time. Casual players, knowing there is an event going on, still force their way on the course regardless of how crowded it is.
I don't think there is a local park supervisor I have not approached for new courses and / or to expand our current ones. Casual players like to blame the leagues and tourney players for the crowded courses but I can tell you after spending thousands of hours of my free time working our current courses, casual players almost never offer assistance when it comes to course cleanup or volunteering time to fix or repair tee pads or baskets. 100% of the time it is the organized players working with our parks departments so if there is any feelings of who's who on the courses you can tell where my allegience sides. However, knowing that, the % of league and tourney players who assist at the courses is a minority compared to those who do not.
Good discussion, how do we get the 2 groups to work with each other rather than against?
