Ace Pool Payout

To make it fun, I'll pay out 5 places on Saturday: $60/$40/$30/$20/$10. We'll do the 1,5,6 loop and eliminate a certain percentage of the field with each throw based on distance from the pin.

Final Night at Th League

10 teams played tonight with only 4 strokes separating 1st from last place. Congrats to team Doug (Evil and Westfall) for taking first in a playoff. It was nice to see the series leader finish in last place for a change! (sorry Trip, cheap shot)

Brilliant in the Dark

So who says that playing slow and finishing in the dark is a disadvantage? Daddy B and Mikey B play 7, 8, and 9 at Oxbow in the dark and finish 2, 2, 3 to take the #1 spot with a 47. Those of us who finished in the light could only manage 48s and 49s.

I underpaid the guys who shot 48, so you get $3 off your entry fee next week (just remind me). KC and Ryan O get $2 off for their 49s.

League Tonight

Moved from Oxbow to JVB due to possible closure of Throughway. Trip will be running as I have some other obligations.

Forecast is great for CNY Champs on Saturday.

Weather permitting, we'll be at Oxbow on 9/15, then to JVB on 9/22 and 9/24.

Th League

Nice shootin' tonight by Crowley and Oyler with birdies on holes 1-8 at TC3. Two Thursdays to practice at Oxbow before CNY Champ's on 9/10. See you next Thursday. It's getting dark earlier now, so please be there by 5:30 sharp so we can tee off promptly at 5:45. Thanks!

Aug. 18th at Clay

Lots of thunder, but no rain at Clay. Just another demolition of the course by Billy Bob and (fill in the partner). Sorry Doug B., I know you contributed! Those of us with lesser arms are looking forward to returning to Oxbow where there's a few more trees. Next week, though, it's TC3, so someone let the air out of Billy's tires please.

JVB - July 21

Hot rounds on the hottest day of the year. 41 for Sivils & Roach and 42 for Morano and Rozansky. Another Ace this week with Doug Courbat on #13. Very nice!

Next week is a chance for some to move up in the point standings while many of us are off at Worlds. TC3 will be the course and Trip will be running the show.

JVB - July 14

An amazing night at JVB. Two Aces! De nailed #16 and Steve Roach got #11, splitting $160. Ace pool drops to $35. A lot of hot rounds as well - Billy and Bertram with a 42 take the top spot. 31 players is a new record for attendance. With so many points up for grab, the standings were shaken up a bit. Crowley still on top with Trip in pursuit. De is solid in 3rd, and Matt B is on my heels for 4th, with Westfall and Morano not far back.

One more week at JVB, then to TC3 on the 28th.

JVB - July 7 Results

Lots of low scores on a wind free night at JVB. Hovey and Roach over Trip and newbie Brandon Stone of the second playoff hole. Pat and Steve cleaned up by also taking the CTPs. Ace Pool still untouched at $165.

Quiet Night at TC3

Beautiful weather last night, but no double digit fireworks at TC3. The wind was blowing just hard enough to make scoring a little tougher. McGarity and D edged out Don C/Jarad and Hovey/Hoop by one stroke, with the rest of the teams just behind. Had some close calls for the Ace Pool last night, but close doesn't get you any $, so we are up to $142 and counting. Back to JVB for 3 weeks, then TC3 again on July 28th.

League Finals on September 24th at JVB

For the Th Night League finals on Sept. 24 at JVB, we will play a single round of golf with a format to be determined and it will not count toward the series payout. The Ace Pool $ (if any) will be paid out if anyone hits an ace during the round.

We will gather at 9:30 and tee off by 9:45, followed by pizza, series payout, ace pool throw off (if needed), and a few contests.

The cost for participating will be $5 and this will get you pizza and make you eligible for a bunch o ... more

Oxbow Results for 6/23

Drenching rains didn't stop Crowley and Mott from going low. With Trip taking another week off, Gary has built up a solid lead in the point series. The battle for third is heating up, with Westfall and Basilio making up some ground on D and me.

Revised League Schedule

We have added a couple of dates to the Thursday Night League schedule. Trip has agreed to run league on July 28 at TC3 (during Worlds). In addition, we will extend Th league through 9/22 (at Oxbow), with a final round and series payout on Saturday, 9/24, 9:30 a.m. at JVB. Please note that the last round to count toward the series payout will be 9/22. If there is money left in the Ace Pool, we will do a shoot out on 9/24. To be eligible for the Ace Pool shoot out, you must have played at least 6 weeks of Th Night League.

Oxbow Results for June 16

Quite a shoot-out last night at Oxbow with a 45 (Crowley & Westfall), 46, 47, 48 two 49s, 50, & two 51s. Gary takes over the lead in the points series with Trip MIA this week.

One more week at Oxbow, then down to TC3 on the 30th. Ace pool at $116 and counting.

June 9 Results

Trip and Scott Mott ran away it tonight with a 45. Ace drought continues, pushing Ace Pool to $98. Series payout hit the $200 mark tonight. We'll payout at least ten spots for the point series, so showing up each week can earn you some cash come September. Trip and Crowley are going to be hard to catch for # 1 and #2, but it's pretty wide open after that.

Th League Ace Pot

We will have over $80 in the ace pot next week at Oxbow. The next person who hits an ace will get 80% of the ace pot and we'll keep 20% in the pot as seed money for the next ace. This makes it a little more fair for the second person when there are aces on consecutive weeks.

Dodging Storms at TC3

15 of us somehow managed to play a round at TC3 with barely a drop of rain, but all hell broke loose just after we finished paying out the winners. X-Man Hovey tied Meitus and Jofre with 46, but no playoff was held due to darkness and lightning. Morano and De one stroke back at 47. It was actually a good night for scoring, with very little wind.

Next week, we move to Oxbow for 4 straight weeks. 5 Thursdays in June, so we'll be back to TC3 on June 30. I'll be in Chicago next week for a wedding, so Trip will be running things.

Hope to see some of you at the RFDO.

Trip & Jarad cruise to victory at Clay

No other team could keep up this week as Trip & Jarad cruise to a 4 shot victory over G. Crowley/A. Jofre, C. Sweet/F. Haag and Doug Courbat/Seth Campbell. Ace pot is up to $52 with some nice chances next week at TC3. We'll be playing the short tees again with a 6:00 sharp tee off time. Carpoolers can meet at the McDonalds in Lafayette at 4:30.

Hot Night at Clay

Temps started around 80 degrees and with very little wind, the scoring was equally hot. 3 sub 50 rounds, led by KC & Seth with a 47 (8 deuces and only 1 four), Billy & Adrian with 48 (7 deuces and 1 four) and Greg & Nick (8 deuces with 3 fours). One more week at Clay, then off to TC3 for the last Thursday of the month.

p.s. Hoop, who won last week, has chosen kick-ball over disc golf. I guess he has his priorities! :>)

Hooper and Crowley are victorious

Hoop cans a 65 foot putt on #18 for the par and the one stroke victory over Trip and Trask. He also made a 35-40 foot putt to save par on #17. Since Gary is such a WEAK putter, it's a good thing he had Hoop along. Just kidding, Mr. Putting Machine. No Aces this week, so there will be $14 in the pot for next week + whatever we collect. I won't start capping the ace payout until we get close to $100.

Sivils and Robinson rock TC3

It was fun watching the B&B (Billy & Barry) show at TC3. Their only disappointment was the 4 pars on the card. Darn! 40 looks pretty nice on the scorecard, but I'd like to see a 39 before the year's over. For the 3rd week in a row, we had an ace - Alex Coronado got #10 and also collected the A-pool CTP $. Larry Oyler got the B-Pool CTP and came in second with Hovey, continuing to add to his war chest (no more B-pool for you, buddy!) Next week, we are off to Clay for 3 weeks. Please wear boots and waterproof socks if you've got them. It's gonna be wet there for awhile.

April 14th Results

Another exciting night at JVB. Another playoff for first place, with Billy and De taking down Trip and Sweet. Larry Oyler is the big winner for the night, hitting an ace on his last hole of the night (#1), which was also the CTP hole, and getting last cash spot for a total haul of $72. Way to go Larry! B-Pool CTP went to Chris Sweet.

One more week at JVB, then down to TC3, followed by 3 weeks at Clay. I won't be there on 4/21, but league will be in the capable hands of Trip (what's up with this guy's playoff record?)

Th League Kick-Off

It was a great first night of Th League, with 27 players and beautiful weather. The two hot rounds were 46, with Morano and Purdy beating Trip and Bertram on the second hole of sudden death. Everyone shot well, with the rest of the field shooting between 50 & 55. Same place and time next week. Hope to see you there!
