Sorry about all the News but the scoring just became available so I had 4 weeks of catching up. Should only be once a week now as long as the system stays stable...

Wow, we had 48 players last week and I arrived late. The entire night I tried to play catch-up that caused even more delays as the night progressed. I have a pretty smart person at work looking at my Excel file so I hope to have this glitch fixed asap. We never encountered it last year because we never had 48 players before.

So, I was thinking about the registration lne and how to make this simpler and faster. The number system might work better and I think using the number system might work. ... more

Hi Chris, you can enter the front door, walk through the bar, and go to the room directly behind the bar either right or left. It might be closer to park near the golf course club house and walk through the downstairs restaurant then up the stairs into the banquet room. Either way works just fine, just note that the banquet room is behind the bowling alley bar and overlooks the golf course.

Where exactly do you enter to get to the putting, is it inside the bowling alley? I neglected to ask John during BOBIS.

Yes to the points system. Easy enough to run and to track on the scene. 1st-5th place earn points for each player. (1st=5pts, 2nd=4pts, 3rd=3pts, 4th=2pts, 5th=1pt). Just a one-time cost of $5. Top 5 finishers win something (money/trophies/something else??) at the end of the season. I'll run it too.

We are already paying $5 just to enter with 100% payout. The bowling alley does not charge us to use the room because their return is on the food and liquor sales. The night allows each person to play a minimum of 4 horseshoe style games. Those who win the most games gets put into an elimination bracket. Many times there are playoffs to make the final 8. The brackets are a single game elimination however, there are always the losers games where the teams play to see who gets 3rd and 4th place ca ... more

Why not pay something per game 1$ or so people can win something. with money on the line even this minimal helps put meaning to what you doing and helps develope your mental game. lets say 30 people a guy wins 3 games he gets 45$ and the others for those 3 games are only out 3 $ or separatethe putting into money div and a social type div.

No points system

Anyone give any thoughts to the Points system?
One time fee of $5 - points awarded when you cash - 5 points to 1st on down to 1 point for 5th. Top 3 places gets a small trophy of some kind and all the remaining cash (minus the trophies) from those who enter.
Just a simple suggestion...
Bueller???
