No Doubles This Week

Winter Saturday Doubles is now over. Thanks to everyone for a great season!

The 101 Summer Saturday Doubles will begin on Sat. April 10th at Indy Lake. The ace pool money will carry over from the winter league.

Saturday Dubs at Hudson Mills

Due to the current conditions at Indy Lake, we will be be returning Saturday Dubs to Hudson Mills this week - March 20th.

Joe Arnet will be running the show, so thank you Joe! He will determine layout to be played.

Please double check your scorecards this week prior to turning them in. Thanks and hope to see those that will not be able to make the March Mush in Lansing.

Last round for points

Tomorrow is the last Saturday Dubs for A2CoPS points. We will play Sunday's R1 layout which consists of Chuck D. 1-4, 12-18 white pads and Picnic 13,14,16, 9-12. This is your chance to get a feel for the tourney layout. If you haven't played in an A2CoPS round this winter, and you want to play in Sunday's tourney, this is your last chance to qualify.

What a great winter season it has been! We've had 110 different golfers this winter. Thanks to everybody for making it happen.

Doubles Troubles

Mark makes a good point about tomorrows play packing down walking paths for Sunday. Bobby Mac also mentioned that the snow at HM is very deep in some spots. Perhaps we should reconsider. Either way tomorrow will require spotters on every hole and play will be slow.

So I leave it up to you guys to vote. After all it is your league. Cast your vote in the talk section of Sat Dubs by 4 pm. Votes will be tallied and I will post official location by 4:30.

Hudson Mills Tommorow?

Were thinking of moving Saturday Doubles to Hudson Mills tomorrow. This would decrease the number of footprints on the course for DGLO #2 and allow for better play due to shoveled (or partly shoveled) tee pads.

Since this is very late notice we would need a volunteer to post up at Indy until noon to direct anybody who didn't get the message. Tee time at HM would then be 12:30.

Anybody want to volunteer?

Scoring Averages

Nice shooting to the top 4 this week. B. Calhoun / A. Leopold got a -9 from blacks with a Cyclone of deuces. 2nd place was a respectable -8 by Fortunato and 'Dirty Glove' Mark Lawrence. Fortunato was the big mover in the A2CoPS, currently in 3rd place overall. Temps below freezing and a predictable no-show from Mr. Smart.

Chainstar Raffle Tickets Available Tomorrow

Local 101 will be selling Chainstar raffle tickets starting tomorrow. We will be raffling off a Chainstar at Loco V on May 2nd, 2010. Tickets are $2 each / 3 for $5 / 8 for $10 / 20 for $20. You don't need to be present to win.

Double Points at Doubles?

Looking like temperature in the high 20s with a 10% chance of snow to start the round. If we get winds above 10 mph we are looking at a DOUBLE POINTS day at Indy Lake this weekend. We will be playing the Chuck D Memorial course.

Remember, any round that dips at or below 15 deg wind chill counts for double points in the Ann Arbor Cooperative Points League.

Great Day

Wow, what weather for mid-November and the turnout was great today. Thanks all who made it out and for those that didn't I hope you enjoyed yourself whatever it was you were doing. Dambala!!

We had 26 players today and 5 teams came in tied for 2nd place. The call was made to play off winner take all (2nd, 3rd and 4th place payouts) in a sudden death shootout. Aaron Leopold and Jeremy Swan outlasted Daemon and Jon on hole 10 picnic to take the big prize. See you all next weekend for the Picnic Course.

Singles this week: 11/7

This week we are going to try a new format for Saturday Doubles: Singles! This will me a mini one round of 18 tournament with the traditional division breakdowns (Pro, AM1, AM2, AM3..). Entry fee is $10 per player. We plan on doing this on the first Saturday of every month during this winter session. Not sure on the course yet, we may vote before the start of the round. Points (both league and Ann Arbor Cooperative) will be handled by how many people you beat that play the same layout. Look forward to a great day out at Indy!

We will temporarily suspend Saturday Doubles this week to allow everyone to play in Mystic Mills at Hudson Mills. So Saturday Dubs will not be played for points or ace pool this week and will resume on November 7th with a singles day on the Picnic Course. If some of you cannot make the full time commitment of a tournament and still want to play a noon doubles round then post here on the dgscene talk section and we'll get something going.
