A beautiful heavily wooded and technical disc golf exclusive course/park. Good design and mild elevation with water hazards on 5 holes. Nice combination of short and long holes. Several right and left doglegs. Signage is barely negligible but navigation is still pretty easy. New concrete pads and signage. Arroyo steel baskets with good placement. A picnic shelter and porta john is in the front parking lot.

Awesome course with tons of technical shot shapes and lines, course has longs wooded shots as well as short shots. Baskets catch well and the only downfall I can really think of would be the tee pads, Hopefully we can get some cement tee pads on the course in the near future. I would definitely recommend playing this course if you get the chance or are in the area.

I would give this course an A, but playing in the rain those turf tee’s are tricky.
I would have given this an A+ but the hole maps are waterlogged and unreadable.

Amazing course, I will absolutely return.

Aesthetic-- plays through the east end of a small city park. Other facilities include hiking trails which DO NOT interfere with disc golf. Disc on!
Teesigns--nice for what they are. shows directionality of the hole if not a map along with distance. I liked that the disc golf park was dedicated to a guy who loved disc golf and has since passed away.
Baskets-- ARROYOS!!! Super bright and visible in the woods. Arroyo baskets , I believe are the gold standard when it comes to baskets.
Routing/nav-- Very easy not a chance of getting lost here. next tee signs on every hole and branches/logs to guide the way
amenities-- garbage cans and "benches" are plentiful. Bathrooms are near the parking lot.
Variety is great with 18 holes all shots are needed and many different discs will be need in your bag.
Teepads- Honestly they weren't bad, the astro turf provided some grip. would strongly prefer concrete in the future.
I honestly really liked this course, so much I played 6 rounds in 2 days.

A great course winding through a beautiful Pine Forest. Some holes have too many trees in the way no clear Shot line. A mostly mid-range course with a couple over 400 footers. Well marked and easy-to-follow layout with little o.b. all tee pads are AstroTurf and some are covered by dirt. I would recommend this course to anyone of any skill level and look forward to playing this course again.

I love it here, the baskets are the best, the flow is great, the teepads are turf (great if you wear cleats). It seems like every time I come out here I play a different line or find a disc that works better on a certain hole. I love courses that are technical but can let you stretch your arm and throw for distance as well. This is the kind of course that will give you the time of your life or make you want to quit but most of all it will make you a better disc golfer. I've never played a course that has better flow from hole to hole, this course seems better with every round. It's nice to be able to come to the hometown and play one of my favorite courses in the state. Thank you to all of you that put so much work into its upkeep.

This course is an awesome wooded-technical course with tons of the fun factor. But it is not short as many reviews have stated before the back nine was put in. This course has 3 holes well over 400' with tons of trees making it next to impossible for an am3 to pull a 3 on. With other holes over 300', slight to somewhat moderate elevation changes,Tight lanes EVERYWHERE. and of course the first five short but heavily wooded holes, this course is downright fun. The teepads are artificial turf but were surprisingly nice to tee off from in the muddy conditions. I didn't slip at all and felt totally safe at full pull in the wet and muddy conditions on the turf. Continuity and flow are superb. The one and only place you might get confused as to where to go there are great signs. Great signs at all the teepads. Some picnic tables and trash cans along the way. And the basket poles are all painted with bright colors making them easy to spot. The baskets are-I believe- Arroyo Vortex baskets. They have 2 sets of chains with a whopping 20 on the outside and 11 on the inside. The 11 on the inside X out twice effectively making them 22 chains for essentially a whopping 42 chain basket. I was amazed at their performance and asked some locals about them and they said they were great, except at the top they will snap the disc back at you. I tried it and sure enough it did, as the chains are to close together their. But the bottom 9/10's of the chains catch great and substantially better than chainstars. Beware of the top 3 inches though. Very nice course that will put the fun into your round, unless you hit to many trees. Very challenging must play for all.

Played it on a cold, fall afternoon. Trees shielded most of the wind, which was really nice. Hole layouts are fantastic. There is always a tight line to the basket. Beautiful setting in the woods with leaves changing colors. Easy to navigate, nice double chain baskets. Not necessarily the longest course, but the trees make it very challenging. Overall one of the best woods courses I've ever played, definitely want to come back and try and best my score.

This is my home course, let me start with that. I love the fact that this course is cut through the woods. I learned the game on this course and I was able to grow my game with it over the last year and a half. The locals are the best!! They have been a reason I am proud to say it's my home.

Would I recommended this course to a new player? Yes, if they want to get better at accuracy. Would I play here before other courses? Yes, this I a soon to be gem in the scheme that is Michigan disc golf scene.

Smash is a great switch up to the other courses in the area. It has a great layout, and the up down elevation provides excellent aerobic activity for those looking to shed a few. I encourage others to take advantage of this park before it becomes a popular destination, and all the holes have groups waiting, like the others in the area.

As for any cons i would have to say mosquitoes are an issue, as with most Michigan parks and my backyard. Bring your preferred method of insect control.

Only issue I had was that people from two different teepads shoot at the same basket after hole 5. People from the 9 layout would be shooting to hole 6 I believe while people playing the 18 I think shoot to hole 15. Other than that, great course! The compacted sand and astro was a lot more stable than I assumed it would be, couple of the turfs could use flattening out but overall great course!

It has come a long way in terms of playability in the short time it has been open. I like how tight the course is set from the beginning. It will only open up over time. Very comparable to Whitehall. Worth the drive.

Just had the chance to play this course for the first time and I really enjoyed it! The land was well utilized for the design of the course. I liked how many of the baskets were guarded by a shield of trees, really adding a challenging element to the course. Its a fair course for all players regardless of left- or right-handed throwers. Hats off to the people who maintain this course; everything looked very nice and clean. I'm sure it definitely helps having trash cans throughout the course.

The only part I got tripped up on at first was the sign after hole 6 about 9 or 18 holes. I thought it was going to make me skip holes, but it didn't and I found my way through the course! I'll definitely be making the trip from Grand Rapids on a regular basis to play this course! Its another hidden gem within close proximity to Fallasburg and Bertha Brock!

Still in its infant stages (especially the new 9) it needs a lot of cleanup and foot traffic but anybody can see with time its going to be an amazing course to work on hitting and shaping lines. Put your drivers back in your bag because the new holes aren't going to be parked with 1 shot using your putter. "Saving par" won't be easy if you shank off a tree either.
The artificial turf teepads are surprisingly grippy yet slick enough to pivot without any ankle torque..
Would be nice to have some more open holes to really let loose but can't get much better use out of what there was to work with. Like any course in the woods this time of year, make sure you load up on bug spray or be prepared to get carried away.
The future of SMASH looks bright.

Great 9 hole course! Tight and tricky, but fair lines. Really good pin placements. Great course for working on putter shots off the tee. You really only need a couple of midrange discs and putters to play this course (maybe a righty sidearm hyzer driver shot or 2) Easy to navigate. And AWESOME baskets!!!! Really fun! The only real knock on the course is that the tees are natural at this point. I hear concrete is in the works once the $ is raised.
I can't wait to see the next 9 holes, which is promised to be a lot longer than the existing 9. Good, fun disc golf :)

There is a nice flow through the course. There are actually 19 holes and 18 baskets. This is a achieved by having an alternate hole after 5 (the old original 6), this route makes you play just the original nine. Or you play to the same basket if you play the full 18 on hole 15. This is nice if you only have time for nine or want to warm up or you can play the full 18! Decent variety of holes. There are some that have tight fairways, others with longer more open shots, all playing through the woods. There is some blind holes and some with slight elevation change. Great basket placement makes each hole challenging and fun. The Arroyo baskets are a nice touch to the course. The back nine is very new and some what rough but the front nine has had over 100 stumps removed. Bring bug spray and have a great time!
