About this tournament

This tournament is a two-round PDGA/NEFA tournament that takes place on a very heavily modified version of the Pyramids course. Each hole has OB, HZ and Mandatory areas added to it. This event requires thorough rules understanding and will ask you to make some very difficult shots, and as such is not recommended for newer players. Players will need to be familiar with the rules of play involving OB, Hazard Zones, and Mandatories.

Professional players will be paid out in cash via PayPal to the e-mail address they provide during registration. Amateur players shall receive Marshall Street gift certificates, also sent to the e-mail address provided during registration. Provide an e-mail address where you can be reached!

There is a $5 ace pot- if no aces are hit during tournament play, there will be a CTP throw-off at the end of the event with the three closest players splitting the pot three ways.

The course will be marked for tournament play at least one week prior to the tournament to allow you to practice on the layout. The course layout will be similar to last year's, with a few changes I'm making to steal your strokes. I reserve the right to change anything about this until the flags are actually into the ground (and will probably try to find some way to remove the mandatories if I can):

#1- Blue basket. Two OB 'ponds'- both are around 40-60' wide. One is located short and to the right of the white basket (about 275' from the tee), and the other is located in the chokepoint before the blue basket.
#2- Island hole to the blue basket. Everything except a 60' cutout around the basket is a Hazard Zone, the basketball court is a Hazard Zone. (Hazard Zones: These are like OB, except you don't move your disc after your throw. If you land in a hazard, you add one penalty stroke to your score and then throw again from where it landed. If your first drive goes off a tree hard right, you take it where it lies and are throwing your third shot.)
#3- Blue basket, with a big circular OB patch right by the white basket, where you're trying to land your drive. There will be room to play around it but it won't be friendly.
#4- White basket. River and everything left is OB.
#5- Blue basket. Everything before (what used to be) the large tree in the fairway is OB. Everything to the right of a line that extends forwards from that tree is also OB. If you fail to land in bounds on your drive, take your next throw from the drop zone located on the left side of the fairway. All other OB shots play as normal.
#6- Blue basket, everything before the river is OB. If your throw from the tee goes OB, proceed to the drop zone located near hole #7. All other OB throws play as normal.
#7- White basket. An OB 'river' exists 5' after the cliff, extending up to 15' before the basket. (The idea is that pros will have a big pump to make the clear and then have to shoot back down at the 'river', while ams will want to consider laying up below the cliff for a 2nd shot up at the basket.)
#8- White basket. A tunnel is marked with flags which extends 20' to either side of the tee (40' wide), and cuts off behind the basket. Everything outside of this tunnel is a Hazard Zone (next shot is played from where the disc came to rest, add one penalty stroke.)
#9- Blue basket. Double mando located 150' down the fairway, drop zone near the double mando. Shots which miss the mandatory proceed to the drop zone. After the mandatory has been cleared successfully, or after a player has missed the mandatory once and thrown from the drop zone, no further shots need to clear the mandatory.
#10- Blue basket. River and beyond is OB.
#11- Blue basket. Rock wall and beyond is OB.
#12- Blue basket. Rock wall and left is OB; a line on the right side starts around 30'-45' from the right side of the teebox and goes to the chokepoint at the top of the hill, then proceeds parallel to the OB left line. An OB line lies 15' behind the blue basket perpendicular to the left/right OB lines. (Think of a very long tunnel with OB on both sides, and the right side has trees to block your out-shot.)
#13- Blue basket. Over the rock wall is OB (same line as hole 12). The area below the hill of the white basket will be OB, curling around towards the blue basket.
#14- White basket. A large OB 'pond' is located on the side of the shop, going up to about 30' from the white basket. The trees in front of the box will be sealed off with an OB area. Regular OB lines also apply.
#15- Blue basket. Double mando, up the gut. No drop zone; shots which miss the mandatory must be re-thrown from the current lie. Once the mandatory has been cleared successfully, any successive throws which end up behind the mandatory do not need to clear it again. Rope line behind the basket is OB.
#16- White basket. Driveway and beyond is OB.
#17- Blue basket. Driveway and beyond is OB. Roof of the shed is OB (as normal).
#18- Blue basket. Driveway is OB. Green is an island which is marked with flags and the rope which is 3' from the wall of the shop.
