About this tournament
One round per day with tee times. MPO will play Lions-Lair-Lions, all others will play Lair-Lions-Lair (subject to change based on registration numbers). $45 greens fees, $1 ODDS fee and $4 PDGA fee deducted from all entries. MPO plays long tees on both sides. MP40 and MP50 play Yellow Tees on Lions and Lair Long. MP60 and FPO play Modified Yellow Tees (Red tee on Hole 7, Short pin on Hole 8, Short tee on Hole 12) on Lions and Lair Shorts (Holes 7, 9, 11, 14, 15, 16, 18).
Tee times will be posted on the PDGA Event page first thing tomorrow (Thursday)morning. Changes will be made for emergencies only. Saturday and Sunday teetimes will be posted as soon as practicable following daily rounds. Divisional blocks will remain close to the same.
Weather looks decent for Friday and Sunday and wet for Saturday. The weather on the Northern Neck is also notoriously fickle so be prepared.
Camping info: Cory 804-724-3790
Practice rounds on Thursday are free.
Chef BoyZardee will be on site for lunches with a menu including dogs, brats, gyros, ribeye sandwich, and tacos.
Travel:Lair- 3409 Neenah Rd – Neenah Rd is washed out to east of course(coming from Tappahannock/Warsaw), you must enter from the west. If you are approaching up Rt 3 from the east this means you continue past the normal turn to a right on 202, then an immediate right on Neenah Rd (there will be signs saying road closed in 2.8 miles- course is only 2.6 miles), and right into course.
Lions- 22111 Kings Highway (Red Oak Nursery)- veer slightly to right upon entry, continue straight through property to course. TAKE YOUR TIME DRIVING THROUGH THE PROPERTY- people live and work there.
The road through Lions will be closed during play each day.If you must drive from one course to the other you will have to go around. Lions to Lair: right out of Red Oak Nursery, right on 202,right on 600 (Neenah Rd), right into 3409 Neenah Rd. Lair to Lions: left out of driveway, left on 202, left on Rt3, left into Red Oak Nursery, immediate veer slight right, continue straight through property.
Event Logistics: You must check in at your appropriate course 15 minutes prior to your tee time EACH DAY. You must be at the first tee 5 minutes prior to your tee time and will be subject to 2 stroke penalty if not. (This is PDGA policy so don’t bother complaining about it to me, just do it.) All players must keep score for the entire group. PDGA Live is the preferred method. Login code is “water”. Paper cards will be availablef or those unable to use PDGA Live like a 21st century human. Paper cards must be turned in at the end of the round.
Course Stuff: Course ground rules are attached to this email as well as on the Disc Golf Scene page and in PDGA Live. The lake is always OB. If there ares takes present the line is the stakes. If no stakes the line is the water line. Casual relief allowed from thorns, steep slopes, and water not designated as OB. You must take a minimum of 1 meter off of all lake OB and may take up to 2 meters.
Course assignments: MPO: Friday- Lions Blue Saturday- Lair Long Sunday- Lions Blue
MP40 and MP50: Friday- Lair Long Saturday- Lions Yellow Sunday- Lair Long
MP60 and FPO: Friday- Lair Short Saturday- Lions Yellow, short 7,8,12 Sunday- Lair Short
Relief Area on Hole 18 Lair has been expanded due to erosion. All shots landing within the yellow staked area are played from the Drop Zone with no penalty.
If playoffs are required they will be sudden death on the following holes:Lair 1,2,3,18 (loop if need be) Lions 10, 11, 18 (loop if need be)
If you are unable to complete the event for one reason or another please notify me by text to 540-661-6685 that you will not be there.Drops without notification will receive the dreaded “888” for the round which will result in a ratings penalty. I also will remember it forever. Ace Pool will be donated to charity if none are hit.
Now would be a good time for any questions you may have.
