We implemented a new rule at the beginning of this season in the interest of fair play for all. Here it is:
"If Handicaps are used to determine payouts then the Handicapped adjusted scores should be entered into the
score form. This ensures points are awarded based on the same system used by the league for that round."
(full document is here: http://www.discgolfleagueassociation.com/MICoPS_2011_Summer_League_Summary_5_01.pdf)

So after looking at the Coldbrook and Oshtemo leagues we found them to be in violation of this rule. Basically the raw scores are being entered and the end of season payouts are based on points earned based on how well you shoot from your average score, which is a handicap. After talking with Larry we have come to the unfortunate (for both sides) conclusion that they have to be removed from this seasons point series. He basically doesn't compute a handicap adjusted score for each round so he has no way of adhering to the rule without a brand new (for him) handicap calculation which he is not prepared to take on. We both understand each others position and we are looking for a way to fix this for future versions of the MICPS.

That said we will also be looking at all of the other handicap leagues in the MICPS to verify all are compliant with this guideline. The intent of this rule is to keep the point series competitive for all leagues large and small, singles and doubles. Thanks
