Well to put it simply, after the MDGO sold itself to Discraft, the desire to run FE's was, for some clubs, diminished. I have no hate towards the MDGO and Discraft but they made it quite a bit harder and less desireable to run a FE. I have talked to a few TD's about running FE's and they are all of the opinion that it seems like it is not worth the effort and either decline or do it anyways for the benefit of their local players.
This is all besides the point though. There is no reason for anyone, especially a "premier member" of the MDGO to bash another Michigan club for running an event.
