From what I can tell your upset over the name of a tournament? Is that something worth crying over? This is absolutely absurd. To come on here and drag TADGA through the mud because of a name of an event is downright asinine. Does anyone care who runs the "Michigan State Doubles Championship"? None of the players I know do. It is not interfering with anyone else's scheduled event so let it go.

I know this has far deeper roots than face value as well.

From all accounts I've heard from many sources(inside and outside of MDGO members), it is the MDGO that has a problem with TADGA and not vice versa. They do their best to play well with the MDGO but when they are considered no more than a red headed stepchild in the eye of the MDGO why would you expect them to want to play by your rules? Mark has been asked to run a FE many times and said no many times because of the way the MDGO favors certain clubs/individuals. This is even more apparent in the last few years with other clubs dropping their FE's. There was a time when the MDGO didn't want any of the TADGA event on the state schedules because they are not based in MI. They run more, and better events in MI than a good number clubs based in state. Why shouldn't they be part of the MDGO?

TADGA may not be a "Michigan" club but they most certainly have a large presence in the SE Michigan area(which is where the MAJORITY of players are). Said players like TADGA events. Isn't that what the MDGO is for? The players? No one club should be treated like **** by the MDGO because they straddle a state line.

There is absolutely no reason to publicly degrade a solid club supporting MICHIGAN disc golf because of an event name and club location. I'm sure if DD came up here and wanted to run an event they would be able to do it without hassle. I can't wait to be at the winter meetings this year........
