A Crazy Goblin at Willow this Sunday

I was just haunted by a crazy goblin on my cell who said he will be donating (2) bags of Turkey Jerk, (2) sets of Hand warmers and for some luck trick or treaters that are of age, (2) 1/2 pints of Whiskey - all added into the treats for this Sunday at Willow. I also updated the Ypsi Dubs - Holy Grail trophy to capture for eternity Bob Smart's and Smitty's first place achievement in the two Ypsi Dubs 2010 summer leagues - Thanks Daemon who kept the Holy Grail safe for us. This trophy has space for 13 years of winners at three leagues a year. Bob & Smitty I'll let you guys battle over who gets to put this on their mantel first. I just need it back before the end of the Winter league.

The new plates for the Ypsi Dubs League plague with 1st -3rd are in the mail and will be added to the plague once Rolling Hills opens back up.

Yes looks like we are starting service at the regular time to help those who have to go and prepare for other activities in the afternoon but this means that we have time for a nice lunch break and then a Night Moose round. Two rounds and then some trick or treating... Nice

Up Coming Events - Church

Here is an update of local Church services in the area during the break. This Sunday there is a Party and the Ponds 2 ; http://www.discgolfscene.com/tournaments/Party_at_The_Ponds_2_2010 and for those who can not make that but still want a fun round many of the 24 Chains will be at Cass Benton. Sunday Oct 31st (Halloween) many of us will be haunting Willow, 24 Chains and several Ypsi Dubs Church parishioners and I assume we will see a Night Moose or two even in the early morning. The Summer Church Services officially end this Sunday

One other fact to be aware of, this Sunday marks the last round of the Ypsi Dubs Church service. How appropriate that it is our last Sunday round at the park for awhile. Besides having the great honor for their achievements throughout the session the top three on the leader board after that round will be immortalized in the Rolling Hills Cathedral on the Ypsi Dubs plague that may actually be hanging on the wall. Steve has it and it should be up shortly if not already. The plaque will be up ... more

As a reminder if you would like to send a thank you to the troops - Write a message on a disc thanking them for their efforts and let them know they are in our thought and are appreciated for what they are doing so far away from home. Add your name and location to make it personal and a connection back to the states. You can donate any disc golf related gear or money to help with S&H. We will have some Ypsi Dubs discs for everyone to sign but there are a lot of troops that could use a disc or two to escape their daily grind and pressures. Gabriel Dotson started this, you can also provide your donation directly to him at a 24 Chains event.

Although the Ypsi Dubs Summer Service is coming to completion we will be accepting Sinners and Non-Sinners for the Winter Service. Clergy to help with the service are always welcomed. Our work is never done. Peace be with you...

Just to confirm we will be holding Church Service at Rolling Hills this Sunday. It is the last day of play before the park temporary closure starting on the 27th for 7 weeks. Taking Church on the Road:
We will update the schedule and post news about where we will play as we roam around some of the local courses for the other five weeks. We will probably try and hookup with Willow and make a day of it with back to back league rounds - maybe cook out between rounds or something. Willow is one of the most beautiful local area courses in the Fall and no mosquitoes ;-)

Next Sunday Sept 19th is the Ypsi Dubs Church MiCPS HLW - Double Points It also is one week prior to the MiCPS Grand Finale Registration closure, Sept 25th at Midnight, for the Grand Finale Oct 16th, so we thought we would offer two berths (registrations fees - $35) in addition to our normal prizes and fun. Temporary Park Closure

Sept 27th - Nov 15th

So Sept 26th will be our last Sunday church service at Rolling Hills for 1.5 months. We will begin to travel the local courses like those 24 Chain pirates. We will begin to post the new locations at least a week ahead of time. You can mark your calendar for October 3, 2010 11:45am - we will join Club Kensington Resurrection Summer Dubs 2010 - Kensington Metropark - Double points!

Remember Next Sunday - Rolling Hills - Double Points and more then double the fun.

Rolling Hills - Temporary Park Closing - Sept 27th - Nov 15th

Temporary Park Closing

Rolling Hills County Park will be temporarily closed for public use from Monday, September 27, 2010 through Saturday, November 14, 2010 due to construction activity on the park road system. During this time, no general public vehicle or pedestrian entry will be permitted.

We anticipate Rolling Hills will re-open for public use on Monday, November 15, 2010.

Ypsi Dubs Church - Change of Venue - July 4th

Ypsi Dubs is headed to BRATS this Sunday. Night Moose Doubles will be playing there as well. Hopefully we will have more players in both league rounds - Get TWO MiCPS league rounds in one day.

Bring something to throw on the Bar-b. I'll have some extra hot dogs. Morning round - lunch and afternoon round. Sounds like a great day of 4th of July Disc'n

Sunday June 20th - Tee Off at 9:00 sharp - Shorts

This Sunday is the HLW at Vienna Park and many, including most of the Ypsi Dubs Staff, are planning on attending the 12:00 round at Vienna park.

We will start Ypsi Dubs Church at 9:00 sharp - roll call will be at 8:45, as we have to depart by 11:00 to make it to Vienna Park just in time to reg and play.

Fun round this Sunday playing Longs. We will be playing longs more often, maybe even every Sunday (except this Sunday 6/20) for a while. Probably ever 3rd round will be shorts as Sunday's work well for longs and Tuesdays we still don't have time yet.

I just deleted the last post as there has been some devine intervention and Chuch at Rolling Hills is back on but at an earlier time. The round starts at 9:00 sharp. There should be enough time to finish and get to Willow for those who are planning on attending the HLW. Reg will close at 8:45 and the round will begin promptly at 9:00. Chat with GLane if you have questions he will be running things Sunday morning - Thanks Greg.

Great day on the course - the weather held - no rain and some nice sun. Great day on the course - the weather held - no rain and some nice sun.

Zach had a great first time out. Mike Raley was his partner and together they shot -14 to tie for first and then in the playoff took it to the second hole to pull out the first place cash. And to tie Jon Steiner and Nick Mucker it took an Ace by Zach on hole 12 which gave Zach $139 extra bucks in his pocket. I recall Zach saying something about calling home to tell Mom - See all that disc golf can pay off...

Amazing round to Nick and Jon - way to fight it out guys.

Lost & Found - If anyone found or sees a Dark hoody with a blue/grey design down the front and a fuzzy liner - It was hanging under the picnic table when the round started and was gone afterwords. The owner would like to find it. Let me know and I'll help it get back to it's owner.

So so far three rounds of shorts. I hope your warmed up. Next week will be from the longs. We will keep mixing long and short and by mid summer we will play a few back to back longs.
