2009 / 2010 Season ends...

I would like to thank everyone for coming out all winter for helping and playing. The season ended today at Firefighters and no Ace was thrown. Therefore, the $61 gets added into next weekend's Ace Race at the Auburn Hill Civic Center. I would like to thank everyone for coming out all winter for helping and playing. The season ended today at Firefighters and no Ace was thrown. Therefore, the $61 gets added into next weekend's Ace Race at the Auburn Hill Civic Center.
Here are the details:

8th Annual Bobis Ace Race
Saturday, April 3, 2010
$20 per player + $61
Auburn Hills Civic Center Disc Golf Course
Registration between 1:00 and 1:30 pm
Tee off is at 1:35 pm
2 rounds of 9 holes
One shot per hole
Rotating tee box format
1st player tees off on the 1st hole then moves to the last spot on the next hole and moves up in rotation each subsequent hole.
Absolutely no putts, 2nd shots, or swishing the chains or you lose your next tee shot.
An alternate tee box will be made for hole #7.
All Aces split the entire pot evenly.
Disc donations are gladly accepted for specific Aces! (first one, last one, etc...)

Tony Lewis' wallet..

A huge thank you to the Stony Creek disc golfer who not only found Tony's wallet at Stony (an amazing feat in itself) but drove all the way down to Tony's house and left it on his door knob.

It is an amazing community we find ourselves in!.Thank you very much Mr. Anonymous! BTW, who are you :-)

Ace Pool is at $43. This Sat we are at Stony Creek, 24 holes, short tees. Anyone know the condition of the tee pads?

Registration begins at 5:30 pm. Cost is $5 per player. You cannot bring in food or beverages. We had 26 players last week. To keep the teams equal and make sure everyone who wants to play can, a cap of 48 players will become necessary so please, get there early. We will also be changing up the format a little because we are learning as we go. Many good suggestions came my way this week and I listened to them all. Thank you for all of the suggestions. To keep the teams equal and make sure everyone who wants to play can, a cap of 48 players will become necessary so please, get there early.

We will also be changing up the format a little because we are learning as we go. Many good suggestions came my way this week and I listened to them all. Thank you for all of the suggestions. We will try to implement what we think works for everyone and if that needs tinkered with we will not be afraid to make another change where it makes sense.

To speed games up, all made putts will count meaning no more pushes.

Everyone will pull cards for teams then each team plays a minimum of 4 games deemed as the qualifying round. Each game will be worth 1 point. Following the 4 games we will place the teams who have the most points into a bracket-style elimination format. If there are ties to determine the final 8 teams, all teams in the tie will a play match play elimination round.

Indoor Putting League...

Post up on the BOBIS Saturday Doubles "Talk" section (name, e-mail, PDGA #) if you want me to add your name to the new league. Once your name is added you will be exposed to all the normal functionality the Scene provides. The Sunnybrook Indoor Putting league starts this Monday (February 8) at Sunnybrook Bowling Alley which is located on 17 Mile Road just west of Van Dyke.The league runs from 6 pm - 8 pm and will be located in the back banquet room. We will have tables, chairs, horseshoe pits ... more

NO BOBIS this weekend due to the Turn Up the Heat tournament at Firefighters Park.

Record crowds and the Ace Pool was hit!!!

The Ace Pool began at $319 + 60 today and after weeks of many close calls, Bob Turner finally hit on Hole #13. There were also many ties so we ended up today adding in the miscellaneous $4 to next weeks Ace Pool seeing as how we were going to start back at zero. Next week, we will be back at Stony on our regularly scheduled course rotation. I must say, when the Ace Pool began to climb the players really came out to hit it. We set many BOBIS Saturday Doubles records along the way culminatin ... more

Reminder - Stony Creek on Saturday, January 23, 2010...

Just a reminder - the BOBIS Saturday Doubles will be moved FROM Wagner Park TO Stony Creek Metropark on Saturday, January 23, 2010. Spread the word.

The Ace Pool stands at $319 going into tomorrow.

Registration begins at 12:15 - 12:30 and ends at 1:00.

Course change for January 23, 2010

Due to the large crowds coming out to win the Ace Pool there is no way we could play the BOBIS Saturday Doubles at Wagner Park on January 23, 2010.

We will be moving to Stony Creek and playing 24 holes - SHORT Tee Pads.

Please help tell everyone that the course originally scheduled for January 23, 2010 is changing from Wagner Park in Royal Oak to Stony Creek Metropark.

Ace Pool update and more...

Final BOBIS of the DECADE will be played the day after Christmas at Addison Oaks! Ace Pool stands at $187 plus whatever we get on Sat. Thank you to everyone who has played or helped run this event and have a Merry Christmas.

Record crowd at Starr with great weather - No Aces but sandbagging Aaron Nitz won again this time his partner Josh must have carried him.
