Never been here before. The snow was over 1ft. deep in some areas. Played the first hole, then saw the second pad was cleared of snow, but couldnt see basket #2. I left after that. Bummer. Too much snow.

sidenote: updating with a phoine sucks lol. anyway. I suggest you ask for ocals to take you out due to the fact the course is being altered. there's many of us who enjoy Bends. ask away

John Minicuci   February 9, 2013 at 9:58pm

Basket 2 should still be at the bottom of the hill and to the right. The map in the sign facing tee pad 1 shows the current 20 layout and the hopeful 27 hole layout. I also posted them in the pictures of the course here. Look at pics for hole 1.

You need to clik the Info tab above to get back to River Bends' homepage then click on hole 1 to get a slew of images. The map is the last entry.

A big shout out to Mat Stivers, Brandon Redmond, Mike Walker, Ed, Jeff Bauman, Kevin Egnatoski, and Jake Rogers for their assistance this weekend at River Bends. Hole 12 is starting to take shape. We actually saw a few good shots today from the tee pad. We have a long way to go out here so more help in the future would be awesome...

Id like some votes...would anyone like to see another league on this side of town? If so, where at, what day of the week/weekend or early morning or glow rounds? A2 and kensington have quite a few people and with a $5 ace pool it grows fast and pays nicely! but those are a drive for most of us and id like to know if any others are as interested as i am to have more leagues for us all to enjoy. Please give feedback i might start one up!

John Minicuci    December 19, 2012 at 7:54am

We are looking for people to help move some of the debris we created while cutting the fairways on the new holes 11, 12, and 24. On Saturday we will be there around noon. I will be at Sunnybrook running Bobis so look for Mat Stivers. On Sunday I will be there around noon. Bring gloves and a good back!

There is a big push to move many baskets around in the city to make full courses with the same baskets. For instance, Firefighters is a mix of Chainstars and Mach's. Bends has 7 Innova, 7 Chainstars, and 10 Mach's. Raintree has 2 newer Mach's and 7 old single chain Mach's. I am in the midst of making a full blown inventory of what we have and what we will be moving around. I think River Bends will be complete with Innova baskets on the front 9 and all Mach's for the 18 h ... more

this is awesome. thanks john, wish had better idea of the holes then looking at the map but Im sure there's plenty of wise judgement on the new layout. will there be any replacement baskets?

Spent about 4 hours at River Bends today cleaning up fallen trees on hole 2 and working on the new proposed hole 12.
A couple of things:
First, as the new layout gets finalized, if there are any suggestions, now would be a great time to say them.
Here's a glimpse of the proposal: http://www.discgolfscene.com/courses/River_Bends/Hole_1/50425

Secondly, when you all see trees that have fallen and you are out playing in your groups, feel free to take the initiative to move the remains out of the road. You don't have to wait for me to do it.
My back is a little old ;-) Just sayin'...

Mark Stephens   December 11, 2012 at 1:18pm

But it is just much easier to let you do it though...

Nick Richardson   December 12, 2012 at 5:26pm

Haha! Will do John, don't care what you do with hole12 as you seem to always make great decisions for this lovely sport we all enjoy and many thanks to you and anyone else who has ever helped!

Thanksgiving Morning, Random Draw Doubles. $10 a person. About 10 am teeoff . Planning on playing the current 20 hole layout (Long Tees).

John Minicuci    November 21, 2012 at 11:24am

We cleared the new path for Hole 15's new long tee pad yesterday. Thinking about going out there soon to resume finishing up that area and beginning to clear the path for the new holes 11 and 12. If anyone wants to head out there call my cell: 248 515-0350...

Notcha Momma    November 11, 2012 at 5:39pm

I am bummed out hole 9 was pulled. IMHO it was River Bends signature hole. Nice to see the short tee pads being built at Addy, even though I'll never use them. If MCCG ever sets up a paypal account for donations I'd pimp you a few bucks. I'm one of those folks that would rather give money than time.

Hole 14 is the short hole. We may move the basket just a few feet from its current location however, it will eventually become hole 13's basket during the transformation making hole 13 about a hundred foot longer. Hole 14 as we know it today will eventually be removed. Hole 15, the one with the tee pad in the river, will still keep the basket where it is but we have a new spot for a new tee pad once we cut three trees down. You will still need to negotiate the river but the tee pad will be ... more

Brad Fuelling    October 28, 2012 at 12:59am

what about hole 14 or 15? the one that eroded away into the river?

John Minicuci    October 27, 2012 at 11:17pm

Hole 19 will not be removed although I am proposing a change there too!

mike walker    October 27, 2012 at 8:16am

Will hole 19 be removed in the new layout?im hoping not.
