.browser shut down before I could complete the last post. Did not get the impression what so ever that the folks at the motel had any problems with people parking anywhere close to the motel. There were 8-10 vehicles on Tindall Rd when I parked at the motel.

Jeff,

People being ticketed along Dixie Highway has been happening for years and it has nothing to so with the motel. MSP HQ is 1 mile down the road... LOL

Too many people were almost causing accidents so they started ticketing people parking along the state highway.

I paid the $3 today at the Parkway Motel on Dixie Hwy across from the #10fairway. Dude that took my money was surprised to hear that I read about paying for parking there online. He also related a story about people parking on the Dixie Hwy directly outside the motel recently. They had parked on Dixie Hwy right out front of the motel. Michigan State Police had come and ticketed the cars before the folks had come back to the vehicles. As some of the persons came back to their vehicles, and saw th ... more

They do not plow the roads and with the hills cars gets stuck on the icy rods. Nearly got stuck back here myself once. Had to be pushed up a hill and seen others who could not make it.

Lance, if I'm not mistaken I believe you can pay $3 and park at the Motel across from 10's fairway?

The course is open for play however the main park road closes once snow stays on the ground as they don't plow. For $3 you can park at the motel off Dixie Highway just south of Tindall Road. Walk across Dixie Highway and you will be at Hole 11.

Mark Stephens    December 19, 2011 at 10:24pm

Does anybody know when the park is going to close the park road?

Yes you can hunt within the state park. Most hunters are smart enough and have moved to different areas. However, the area where the course is now used to be very heavily hunted. When we were laying out the course it was littered with tree stands. With that being said, they have the right to be there. Just try tone courteous. Most of them will move to another area with all of the people moving through making it not good hunting grounds now.
