+2Jon Tveite 56 - Long tees, 18 holes "Very nice fall afternoon in Larryville, slightly breezy but not too bad. I was a little wild, with a fair number of good shots mixed in. Wasn't sharp enough to shoot under par, which is always my goal at Centennial. Low point was a three-putt from about 50' on #7, while the highlight was either #5 or #15, the two holes I birdied. There was some kind of competition or show at the skatepark in the heart of the course, so I kept hearing people yell "**** yeah!" at various times, never synced very well to my performance."

+1Jon Tveite 55 - Long tees, 18 holes "Driving through Lawrence, I like to play Centennial when I can. Unfortunately, it was drizzling all day: I decided to play anyway. While being wet all the time was annoying, the main problem was the footing--mud, wet grass, slick tee pads. By #5 I had given up on stepping into the shots and was just throwing everything from a standstill. So I was short off the tee all day, and just making my pars with good approaches. #7 was in the long position again across the creek--which had water in it for a change--so that one got me for a tough bogey. Finally managed to make a birdie (on #17), but then had to give a stroke back on #18, which was long in the woods again and would have taken a perfect approach to save par on."

-3Jon Tveite 51 - Long tees, 18 holes "I was supposed to be flying into KC on Monday, but delays pushed my arrival back to the point where I had some daylight and no particular rush on Tuesday, so I stopped in Lawrence. It was about 100 degrees and very humid, but I persisted. I had 5 discs that I had brought on my trip, and they served me well on Centennial. I could have very easily shot 3-4 strokes better, as I missed a number of short putts (e.g. #1, #7, #13, & #18). A lot of the holes were in their shortest positions (#2, #10, #13, #15), so that helped my score a bit. "

+8Jon Tveite 62 - Long tees, 18 holes "First round of the day at Centennial: while it was pretty calm in Topeka, the wind had really picked up by the time we got to Lawrence. My tee shots were hot or cold right away and that continued through 18. I was probably trying too hard, instead of just taking what the conditions would allow, and it cost me a lot of bogeys. I should have birdied #5 & #6, but the wind was getting in my head and my putting was shaky. My biggest disappointment was on #13, my favorite hole at Centennial, where I threw a hyzer-flip Roadrunner that somehow avoided foliage, cleared the creek, and landed about 15' away -- but then I blew the putt. In fact, I missed putts I should have made on five of the last seven holes."

+3Jon Tveite 57 - Long tees, 18 holes "Second round of the day at Centennial: the wind was still crazy -- not the strongest I've played in, but strong, gusty, and constantly changing direction. Par eluded me on #1, #3, & #4 again, all of them being in their longest, toughest positions (though I should have done better than +7 for two rounds on the three holes). After that, I was pretty consistently average-to-mediocre off the tee, so I had fewer birdie chances, but was in better position to make approaches and save pars. On the bright side, I birdied #2 & #11 for the second time, the latter of which has given me a lot of trouble lately (though it really shouldn't, as it's just a putter flip down the hill)."
+5Rick Petrie 59 - Long tees, 18 holes "This was the 2nd round of the day. Played Crestview and had lunch in Topeka prior to this round."
+10Rick Petrie 64 - Long tees, 18 holes "Third 18 hole round of the day. Total lack of focus, especially at the beginning of the round. Apparently my head was still back at Dairy Queen eating that Blizzard."

+3Jon Tveite 57 - Long tees, 18 holes "I played pretty well, but barely missed a lot of 30-40' putts, and some much shorter ones, too (#3, #7, #15, & #18 come to mind). And I've got to figure out how to play #11, the downhill putter hole backed by thick woods, which should be an easy deuce but seems to get me for a bogey more often than not. I did birdie a couple holes I never have before, and should have birdied another, #18, after a great tee shot left me about 15' away. So it was a disappointing finish, but a nice day to play one of my favorite Kansas courses. "
