Old Avalanche Baskets

Success! I've since removed the postings, but a while back I was rounding up bids on the old Avalanche baskets here on Disc Golf Scene and on our club Facebook page for when the city finally had them officially available (to make things easier for them per their request) and that day has come! We have the approval and there are a few of the old baskets left for $100 each, and while many folks were interested, only 3 individuals actually came forward and gave me bids like I was asking for. ... more

2015 Club Meeting Schedule

First Tuesday of every other month at 6:00pm. Dates (subject to change): 2/3, 4/7, 6/2, 8/4, 10/6, 12/1. Mark your calendars. Location: typically at Avalanche, but we meet elsewhere in the winter - contact us for time and place. Lots of great stuff in the works. It's going to be a great year!

Trying Various Alternate Tee Pad Materials at Avalanche

One of our club goals for this year was to try some various tee pad materials on a trial basis up at Avalanche to generate some feedback and improve some of the worst boxes a little bit. Rather than push for concrete tee pads which everyone might not agree on, our main focus was to help maintain and improve the existing course without doing anything permanent. Concrete is the best... rubber teepads are dangerous because they are slippery as are the pavers on hole 2. saw slips on 2 and 12 wednesday! sand is safer than rubber or pavers. besides concrete I think the safest option is carpet.

Thanks for the feedback Chris! We're adding concrete to the overall proposal for next year. Note: #2 will be better once we actually finish adding gravel so we can put wood chips around it, helping to keep the dirt off the pavers.
