wonder If par at any course would be 1000 rated in a hurricane?

Mike Gambini   August 29, 2019 at 7:18pm

Well I'm shooting 3-5 down on T1 so it looks like you'll have to catapult me into the Climo/McBeth debate

Mike Gambini   August 29, 2019 at 8:17pm

True dat!

Caleb Flack    August 29, 2019 at 5:37pm

Look at Section I.

How I understand this is that if we play two rounds then we don't get refunds. Let me know if my thinking is wrong or not.

That is what it looked like to me.

Davy Reynolds    August 29, 2019 at 5:24pm

Who do we need to contact at the pdga about a refund given these circumstances?

Gambino, do not have a drink with Craig PP. He will dose you with something. Don't ask how I know this.

Chuck Brunke   August 29, 2019 at 6:58pm

You know it.

Mike Gambini   August 29, 2019 at 7:15pm

LMFAO

Ian m    August 29, 2019 at 5:09pm

So what's your contingency plan for getting me home safely Monday evening as a category 3/4 hurricane is bearing down over Florida.

Withdrawal is always an option.

Mike Cain   August 29, 2019 at 7:25pm

I'm sure with that attitude you won't be missed. :D

Mike Cain   August 29, 2019 at 11:21pm

Me too. I'm all in!!

Reed Hancock    August 29, 2019 at 5:08pm

Gosh, I hope nobody had plans to camp overnight in the camping area.

Wish we could get an update. We have a 8 person group that’s about to load up and make a 8-9 hour trip. Would be a little discouraging if we get half way down and have to turn around.

DJ Smith   August 29, 2019 at 5:14pm

Well that’s not gonna work out for us. We are headed down in a 12 person van.

Mike Gambini   August 29, 2019 at 5:24pm

Craig, your hysteria is not helping AT ALL. If you're worried, withdraw. Pretty simple, right? I have a few gripes with the way some things were handled at the OO and also leading up to this event, but at some point you have to do what's best for you while NOT being counter productive to the cause.

Mike Gambini   August 29, 2019 at 5:29pm

They do, I agree. I think we are all a bit worried. But it's also Thursday afternoon. By Saturday morning I think it'll be sorted out one way or anther. As inconvenient as that is, it's what we are stuck with. Let's just hope AM WORLDS is scheduled for June lol

Gregg stevens    August 29, 2019 at 3:46pm

How long before the city decides to close the park? Its not really the td's decision..

I can’t believe this tournament isn’t cancelled by now all fun and games until someone gets hurt to all the disc golfers playing this weekend and staff be safe out there

Ken Bess    August 29, 2019 at 12:43pm

Anyone else having issues with Hotel's, etc. We just had our Airbnb cancel our reservation for the weekend. We are trying to find something economical to stay, but also don't want to reserve something only to get down there and either the City has closed the parks or the Tournament is cancelled.

Would be a great idea to start sunday rounds at 630 7 a.m....

Hi Mark I have read the email and the comments on this board but no clear instructions of exactly what the contingency plan is the only thing that was brought up in the email was lightning strikes, I was hoping you could give me and everyone else an idea of what the contingency plans are? Thanks

We are not floating any of the discussion out there right now as it will only lead to disinformation and many creating scenarios that then people think are official.

Ken Sapp   August 29, 2019 at 4:29pm

someone needs to say something Mark.

May hit as a category 2 early Monday. Would this only cancel round 5?

Mark Janssen   August 28, 2019 at 6:40pm

Wednesday Update: We are still panning to hold the SAC. We appreciate your patience as we work through contingency plans.

Reed Hancock   August 28, 2019 at 11:20pm

Thanks! I will be patient as I know this is a lot for you to figure out.

Bryan Kincaid    August 28, 2019 at 2:49pm

When is the latest to withdraw and get a full refund (minus the processing fees of course)?

Mark Janssen   August 28, 2019 at 6:42pm

Please familiarize yourself with the PDGA guidelines. https://www.pdga.com/rules/competition-manual/103

Bryan Kincaid   August 28, 2019 at 8:08pm

I submitted my request to withdraw so hopefully I can get a refund.

Mark Janssen   August 28, 2019 at 9:33pm

we are receiving all the requests but will be a little behind on processing. All will be time stamped and processed in order.

Brandon Langston    August 27, 2019 at 6:25pm

Mark.. I need to move to MA3.
I have to work Monday and can only play the weekend. Really do not want to miss this tournament.

Looks like with registration shut down you are unable to change divisions using the self service link sent with your registration. Please make all requests via [email redacted]

We are concerned with player safety and player's families not at the event. Currently, the plan is to proceed as we do with rain and suspend play for any lightning. Barnett Park has a THOR lightning detection system that will be explained in your caddy book and at the players meeting, along wit ... more

Davy Reynolds   August 27, 2019 at 2:33pm

Will the refund policy be changed due to the incoming weather?

Mark Janssen   August 27, 2019 at 4:32pm

We will be taking the local municipalities lead on cancelling the event. We are in contact with the PDGA on best course of action. At this point the event is proceeding as planned.

Jared Smith    August 26, 2019 at 10:19pm

Are we going to have to pay entrance fee for BFP? Or do tournament players get in free? (Sorry most northern tournaments get the fee waived, just curious)

Mike Gambini   August 27, 2019 at 2:25am

Lmfao welcome to Florida. Get the wallet out!

Joshua Jones   August 27, 2019 at 12:04pm

I believe it’s $2 or $4 entry fee to the park.

Mark Janssen   August 27, 2019 at 12:34pm

Yes, $2 per person or $4 per car only at Bill Frederick park.

Robert Gillis    August 25, 2019 at 3:40pm

When will we know what pool we are in for intermediate

Mark Janssen   August 26, 2019 at 1:29am

Most likely on Wed.

Mark Janssen   August 27, 2019 at 7:55pm

For those of you in the MA2 division, Pool assignments will be posted by Thursday at the latest. As a rough guide the separation point will be in the area of PDGA ratings 880-884. With higher rating in the C poll and lower in the D pool.

Mike Gambini    August 24, 2019 at 11:01pm

Any news on signs at Parkside? Will the grass be mowed at the Woods course? (It is crazy long in many important spots as of today)

Caleb Flack    August 23, 2019 at 2:35pm

On T2, there’s multiple short pads. On the website it says no white pads for MA2. That still leaves green and red. Which ones are we playing? Red or green?

Caleb Flack   August 23, 2019 at 2:37pm

Or just the shortest concrete tee no matter what color because not every hole has all the tees?

Mark Janssen   August 23, 2019 at 3:30pm

no green pads will be played except on 16 for a drop zone. The red are the correct pads on T2

Caleb Flack   August 23, 2019 at 4:01pm

Thank you.

Jeff Moore    August 21, 2019 at 1:16am

Hey Mark, when I pull up the SAC website it is listed as “unsecured “ and I can not open any of the links. I am using and iPad & iPhone. Any help with this? Anybody having same issue?

OK, I tried the link from Ken, the “volunteer “ and “Sponsor” links work. “Course information” & “Extra Events” give same results at “General Information “. I was hoping to be able to access website while I am down there. Everything works on my computer and I can print it. Just thought you would want to know you have an issue.

Scott Alexander   August 22, 2019 at 6:17am

Jeff, have you tried flipping your phone from vertical to landscape when viewing the tourney website? I commented on a July 31st post here about the same problem you're having. Flip your phone to landscape and the links/drop-down menus should work. The menu is the same as it was last year, so ... more
