What hotels are close by
Sorry I didn't respond more quickly. Nearest hotels are actually in Harrisonburg VA (1 hour away, roughly 45 miles one way).
Staunton VA hotels are slightly further. Harrisonburg is east and Staunton is SE of Sugar Grove WV.
Turns out there is a motel in Brandywine (also where Fox's Pizza is). 30 minutes away.

Due to elevation changes, this is a physically challenging course. With almost 500 feet of elevation drop from the 1st tee to the 8th basket. And then you work your way back up hill again, only to go back down 300 feet, and then come back up hill again. Two holes have loose rocky slopes, where footing can be difficult, and some additional holes have extremely steep slopes. Be prepared to take your time to get your breath back, and to enjoy the scenery.

Address is best located via Google Maps. Regardless of traveling via US 33 or US 250, be aware when crossing Shenandoah Mountain (the ridge directly east of the course) that there are cautionary speed signs for the road. Believe the signs. If the sign says 15mph curve, it means, in dry weather and good light, you can take the curve at 15mph. Really. There's a reason the lanes are 40 feet wide on some of those curves.

Is this course playable prior to April?
Yes, with caveats. Aka, I still need to get the rubber mats out to 2 of the tees, and for the tournament, I hope to have astroturf on top of the mats for better footing. If you wish to play it, please let me know ahead of tie (a day's notice is sufficient) so that I can be sure that I'll be here to give you a map, scorecard, and possibly play along with you.
This winter has been rather icy (more so than normal) though not particularly cold. Most of the snow has melted, finally (though some ice remains on the driveway).

Limited parking, please carpool where possible. Overnight primitive camping available. Camp area accessed best with high clearance vehicles (Trucks or SUVs).
So my honda accord will galivant up it like a billygoat right? and will i be eaten by bears? can i set up a tent on your deck or shed to avoid my black bear buddies?
I've been using my Chevy Bolt on the driveway. There are a few places that are rough from the winter, but otherwise, the driveway is definitely passable. I've not seen the bear up near the house. Deck isn't particularly conducive to a tent. Nearest flat land would be the area just in front of #1's tee. It's about 100 feet from the house.
Franklin is about a 30 minute drive.
