Stephen ... AM1 plays first round at Maple Hill... Final round at maple if you qualify I believe. Can anyone correct that if I'm wrong.

Regarding Divisions and Courses it is a difficult balance between minimizing travel, giving players an opportunity at appropriate courses for their level, and timing. When we look at which courses are most appropriate for which divisions, I suspect we would agree that Webster is the least appropriate course for MA1. Bearing that in mind and having a goal of minimizing travel, the only real option is for MA1 to play the two Devens' courses on Saturday. This is a difficult needle to thread and we are open to suggestions. The only real option that we see is having Friday tee times at Maple Hill. This would allow us to get one more division through the Maple Hill course. MA1 and MA2 are the two divisions in the original plan that do not play Maple Hill before Sunday. Let's make some arguments as to whether it should be MA1 or MA2 that is added to Maple Hill. MA2 is playing the same course as the other divisions at Maple Hill that day. MA2 will not be getting any of the limelight that MA1 is sure to get on the final day. On the other hand, MA1 could be seen as the featured division, so shouldn't they get the plum course option? Or perhaps if we do that, it will appear that we don't care about the other divisions. Also, perhaps taking the top division and making them earn the right to play Maple Hill makes finishing in the top half that much more special. MA1, like FA1, is battling for more than funny money, round card prizes and pride. The winner earns a paid spot in the Pro Side where, in Round 1, they will compete on the same card with some of the best players in the world. We will absolutely admit that defining courses involves very difficult decisions. It is necessitated by the fact that we want to grow this event into a celebration of New England disc golf and we are very lucky to have a partner like MVP Disc Sports to help make this a reality.

WOW!... This is very sad to see. This use to be one of my favorite tournaments of the year. Its really to bad that the changes made have caused me to have 0% interest in playing this event. Really wish the the schedule of courses to be played were posted here on disc golf scene, so I didnt waste my time registering, and now requesting a refund. In my opinion this event should be as close to the pro side as possible schedule wise. VERY disappointing.

I agree with Tim that there should be more transparency on the actual tournament listing, everything is branded as being at Maple Hill when in fact you could register for this and never play a competitive round there. I agree with Tim that there should be more transparency on the actual tournament listing, everything is branded as being at Maple Hill when in fact you could register for this and never play a competitive round there. Even if the rounds were reduced from 2 to 1 at Maple I'm sure there wouldn't be as many complaints. Last year we traveled from Devens to Maple between rounds and I personally didn't see any issue with that. 501 is an excellent course and I'm excited it's involved in the upcoming National PDGA events including this one. As a local the idea of not playing Maple during this event doesn't bother me as much, but I imagine for anyone traveling a significant distance it could be a serious let down.

Switching MA2 and MA3's Saturday locations would make more sense than giving MA3 the best schedule and leaving MA2 with a 45 minute commute between rounds, none of which are at Maple. Especially considering that many MA3 player's aren't signing up for a 150$ tournament. Just my two cents.

Steve - Can you update the "About" page with that information? Many of us really thought that we all playing at MH because the title of the event clearly says "MVP Open at Maple Hill"

That's what is listed. It's roughly $1/pp per round. Pretty cheap, huh?

Yeah provided it goes to all TDs assisting in the process of these 5 courses rather than solely to the head director.

Each TD actually gets a prize package worth this amount. The head TD is donating his to the raffle and all profits from the event go to the pro side or the pro tour.

I love that the course TD’s are receiving a compensatory nod. Being a TD is a ton of work and is generally a thankless job. Great to see this!
