Ooh! Ooh! I have 2 cents! I'd like to suggest for next year that the pre-reg close after the last 'official' PS event:-) I've been pretty hyped about the Kensington HLW this Oct 3rd. Awesome that it creates incentive for the buddies to come to Kensington....BUT, now the Oct 3rd HLW really does not count; hope the out of town turn out is still strong.

@ Cory,I'm not sure what you are trying to get at.There are only 42 players because you westsiders didn't sing up,that's your(the westside)fault not ours.
This is hilarious, all these people crying only 42 people.Well guess what, the ones that are doing the crying are the ones to blame for only having a 42 person turnout.Had you singed up it would be 43 people and so on.It's common sense people.

All of this just proves the best axiom ever; you just can't please everyone. of course us east siders are happy it's close to home, but it would be equally cool to have an excuse to get out that way. however logistically foz'll need help with that if anything like that were to happen right?

@dan, I respect you and value your opinion here man let's all calm down, this is about having fun, remember?

@corey, why didn't you sign up and come down to represent? I for one wished mightly for some west coasters to come out, what turned you off, if anything?

42 people in the final? Why don't you just call this the Eastside Championships?

This will be my last post on the subject, for everything has been put out there, discussion should be closed on this. You guys talk like we don't appreciate what Foz is doing here. I have nothing but respect for Foz and Mike and Mark and have said nothing but good things about any of them. Let the people speak. Without other peoples' input, improvements would be seldom made. Don't call us rude for speaking up. That in itself is disrespect.

Those Orange beauties you won and made available for this awesome course. I can't wait to rattle those chains myself. Made me have to go back and take a look. It reminded me of how beautiful that course is and even more so in Mid Oct:

amen, Foz! excellent work this season. I really appreciate your efforts despite not making it to leagues enough....Plan on spectating on saturday and Striking on sunday. Can't wait to see those orange beauties you helped me win in 2008!!!

Wow! Good discussion, but for what it is worth I support Foz and ANY decision he makes regarding HIS brainchild. He has done a lot of work with this thing, and has made all of the info regarding the event very accessible not to mention posting daily reminders every day for a week previous to the cutoff date. Not sure but asking someone to change a well placed schedule for the simple reason of peoples procrastionation, laziness, or indecisivness seems nothing but ****ing rude to me. Nicely stated both Mark and Foz. Thank you Foz, Scott and Pete for all you hard work and efforts.

Wow! Glad to see the interest, passion and as always to hear from everyone on how things could be done. We would have loved to have had all 772 current players in the Grand Finale to celebrate the season. We discussed the plans online from the beginning, we said there would be pre-paid reg and a deadline. We provided an annoying amount of posts with the details and reminders. Many league coordinators help spread the word for those to busy to make it online or read emails. A state wide event ... more

Well nothing creates interest like controversy and interest is good.

It is fair to say that the MICPS was a great idea and through the work of FOZ (the most holy father) and the league directors it was a huge success. So congrats are in order. I hope it continues for next year and evolves to lure more players into the benefits of league play.

I agree with Mike Raley that the folks who do the work to make tournaments (and cooperative league series) happen deserve great respect and latitud ... more

don't worry about raley, dan. he gets pretty heated sometimes. how about this, I screwed up and so did many others. we want to play now, if we can't so be it. adding more players seems like a good idea, and for disc golf tournaments it isn't some crazy idea that someone should lose respect for the td (mike)if more players were added. if the powers that be (foz) see it different, so be it. foz works hard as i've seen over the past few years. it is a thankless job. 90% of commu ... more

mike has got a point, you gotta look at it from an certain standpoint, foz and the boys needed hard #'s so they could run the type of gig they wanted. so thusly it was planned. Do we want more players? Sure, who doesn't. The fact is this event was a pay first thing, everyone knew for weeks. In the end you just can't please everyone.. and I'll always side for the peeps that run it because talk is cheap, the work involved in these things sure isn't.

Well dude, it's just a fact that more players would play. Why wouldn't you want more players? It's supposed to be a last hoo-rah for the summer of leagues right? There are a lot of other players that want in on the fun for that day of playing.

I was actually trying to say I was done talking with you on the subject, and just generally not wanting to argue with you Mike Raley, because that would be a dumb thing to do. Miscommunication I guess. But thanks for belittling me. That makes me feel great about this disc golf community now.”

I'm not trying to argue with you Mike Raley. All I'm trying to say is A LOT more people could have signed up had there not been a deadline. Sorry I used my right as an American born citizen to Freedom of Speech.

There is nothing wrong with sharing our opinions. We just think that for an event that is here to finalize the Michigan Cooperative Point Series for the Summer of 2010, 42 players out of 770 just doesn't seem to add up right.

I stangely agree with ben. I don't mind not getting a players pack. Whatever you guys decide but I think its a waste to only have 42 people at this event. I had enough time to sign up, true. But with such a weak prereg some people try to plan their weekends accordingly. And I've talked to many people who want to play and now can't. Open it up.

I personally think everyone had enough notice and like the way scott and foz have went about this

I agree with letting people in late, at this point, with the low turnout it hardly seems worth taking a day off work (automatic 200$) to do this. If it came to a vote- I'd vote let people in (maybe with no player's pack same fee).
