HALO MVP CIRCUIT INFORMATION
Hello everyone! The day is almost here! As you know, our MVP Circuit Event is taking place tomorrow! (Saturday, July 9th ) Please read this email carefully as it has some important information you need to know about the event. Please consider bringing some cash to have on hand if you want to enter in Ace Pot, Raffles, and Side Games. Only $5 cash will get you in all of these extra games for extra chances to win prizes! Details below.
WEATHER
Firstly, lets address the weather. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the weather is on our side for tomorrow. If you haven’t already seen, it’s looking like a 60 to 70 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms. As of now, we are going carry on with the event and hope for minimal rain and no thunderstorms. In the event of hearing thunder and/or seeing lightning during the round, we will have all players leave the disc that is in play in place, and we all meet back inside the shop. Safety of all players is of course the number one priority for the event. At this point, we will play the situation by ear and hopefully are able to continue play after a brief break for safety. Let’s all hope this section of the email is simply a precaution and doesn’t come into fruition. Please don’t forget to bring plenty of towels to dry your discs as well as an umbrella to keep yourself as dry as possible.
SCHEDULE
Weather permitting, this is the schedule of events for the day.
8:30am
- 9:30am CHECK IN / PLAYERS PACKS AVAILIABLE
We will be opening shop doors at 8am. You will be able to check in and get your players pack starting at 8:30am. You will have from then until 9:30am to test out your discs on the course. Please don't forget that you have to use only the 3 players pack discs for the entirety of the event so be careful when testing around the water holes!
9:30am
- 9:45am PLAYERS MEETING
Please meet us on the front porch of Halo at 9:30am for our players meeting. Depending on the length of the players meeting, you will have 10-15 minutes to make it to the hole you are assigned to start on.
10:00am
- 12:30pm TEE TIME
It's time to throw! Once the event starts, you will loop the 9 hole Halo Disc Golf Course layout twice to complete a full 18 hole round.
12:30pm
- 2:00pm SIDE GAMES & RAFFLES (estimated time)
After each card has finished their round, we will meet back in the shop, cool down, and do sign-ups for side games and raffles. (Ring of Fire, Accuracy Competition, and more) All of these additional side games will start once all interested players are signed up.
2:00pm
- 2:30pm AWARDS CEREMONY (estimated time)
This is when the event has come to an end and the awards/prizes are given out. This time will depend on when all of the other side games and raffles have finished.
all times are subject to change if flow of play is quicker/slower than estimated.
PLAYERS PACKS
Each player will play the event with only the three discs that are in your players packs. Please remember that we have 2 ponds on the course and these ponds could potentially come into play on 4 of the 9 holes. This means, if you lose one of your discs in the pond, you are down to 2 discs to finish the tournament with. With this being said, if you don’t feel confident in throwing over the water, please play the water holes (2, 3 4, and 5) as safe as possible as to not lose one of your three discs. There’s no shame in playing a layup shot as we are sure many other players will also do. If your disc lands in the edge of the pond and is retrievable, the card has 3 minutes to try and retrieve the disc.

OUT OF BOUNDS / MANDATORY RULES
All course Mandatories and OB’s will be in play during the event. Tee signs for each hole will be attached to this email so please look over these and familiarize yourself with each Mando/OB. Please consider having at least one person on the scorecard keep this email open on their phone during the event as to make sure all OB’s and Mandatories are followed correctly. It is up to each player on the card to keep all players honest with missed mando’s and OB strokes.
- Missed Mando
If a mando is missed, the player will play from where their disc missed the mando with a one stroke penalty. Here is the list of mandatories.
Hole 1 – Tree line left of fairway
Hole 3 – Double mandatory between 2 trees with arrows
- OB (Pond/Fence Lines)
If your disc lands OB, you will play from where your disc went out of bounds with a one stroke penalty. For example, on Hole 2, if your disc crosses the front side of the pond and lands in the pond, you will throw from the front side across the pond again (or around the pond) with a one stroke penalty. However, if your disc crosses over the entire pond, hits land on the other side and rolls back into the water, you will play from the back side of the pond with the one stroke penalty. This is how each of the water holes will be played. Here is the list of OB’s.
Hole 1 – Driveway
Hole 2 – Upper Pond
Hole 3 – Upper Pond and Lower Pond
Hole 4 – Lower Pond
Hole 5 – Lower Pond
Hole 6 – Fence Line left of fairway/basket
Hole 7 – Fence Line on left side of fairway
Hole 8 – Fence Line on left of fairway and tree line on right of fairway
- Hole 9 Island Green
If you land outside of the 30’ circle on Hole 9, you will play from where your disc landed with a one stroke penalty.
SIDE GAMES, ACE POT, CTP, RAFFLES
As mentioned in the schedule above we will have several side games to further enhance your Halo tournament experience. These are of course not mandatory, but we hope that most of you will stick around with us to enjoy more than just the tournament experience.

PARKING
We went over parking in yesterday’s email, but we will reiterate here just in case anyone missed it. The parking map will also be attached to this email. As you know, with 36 players in the event, parking will be limited. We have attached a photo to this email that shows the different parking areas that will be available on Saturday. If you are one of the first to the event, please use one of the secondary parking areas before using the shop parking lot as we will need a few spots for shop customers as well. Carpooling is requested, if possible, for multiple players who can make that happen.
EXTRA INFORMATION
While this is meant to be a fun friendly event, please also be considerate of all other players as well as the shop, course, and other players property. Please turn your phone down during the round and respect all others on the course. There are some very tight areas on this course so please always be mindful of where other players on your card and other cards are before throwing.
Thanks for registering for our event and we can't wait to host this fun event for you!
