When I went to find what "hickory" meant I concluded it was the "Tilly's" in Traverse City. I live in Grand Rapids and plan my tournament schedule pretty far in advance. As a MS1 division player I try to keep my options open, sometimes opting against a nearby tournament to be where other seniors are registered. That is the case when I go to Carly's in a few weeks. I am planning on Gayle Vaughn this year to satisfy a long standing wish to reconnnect with my roots. The travel will not be much different than going to Traverse City.BUT HERE IS MY POINT: Two tournaments separated by such distance do not present enough conflicting interest to warrant an objection. Individual wishes to be in both places or fears of insufficient attendance at one or both locations are minor and unwarranted. Protection against concurrent B tier events in opposite corners of the State would result in a scarcity of opportunities to play the events for many more folks than those like me who have to choose among the happy options.
