About this tournament
1 round of play
Crossover Disc Golf presents our new yearly tradition: "Crossover Christmas Skins 2025' on 12/20/2025 at Cedar Grove in Sunman, Indiana.
This event will be a NON-PDGA event. It is GROUP SKINS. This is a very different style event for disc golfers, as they are usually used to skins being one group playing the same hole with carryovers for ties. Digging into our ball golfers bag of tricks, we are going to do group skins.
How does it work? Let's not make this complicated. Everyone will play the 24 hole layout. If you score the single lowest score on the hole, you win a "skin" or % of the pot. So basically you are running every single shot/putt. There will not be very many skins, so it is all gas and no brakes. Say a player Aces hole 1. If they are the only Ace on hole 1, that would be a "skin". But lets say that 2 players Ace hole 1. No skins or money awarded because they cancel out. Your sole mission is to score the lowest score on a hole, and hope no one ties or cancels you out. Some holes it may be making a putt, or others it might be throwing it in. Either way, it will be a blast and the chance to win a skin will be a different kind of pressure most are used to seeing that there will only be a handful of skins at the end of the round.
So does total score even matter? Not really. If you are already sitting at bogey, knowing that most have carded a birdie or par, simply pick up and move on and regroup for the next hole. Sort of like a "birdie bash" you pick up at 3. However, we will pay out some cash to the lowest score for the players who want to finish out. Some will just pick up, and some will battle on.
The cost is $30 per person. If we get a full field as anticipated, that is $900 (30 players x $30). If it is a full field, we will set aside $50 for the lowest total score for the 24 holes and then $850 for the skins pot. We will adjust and post the payout if less than 30 players.
For this morning session, we will be playing the BLUE (longest) layout of 24 holes.
Following the round we will settle up via PayPal the winners.
