Hello Players,

Welcome to Birdie Presents: The Broken Chains Bangarang, a 2 round PDGA C-tier. Thank you for attending and to everyone who donated to the course! I'm excited to be running the first sanctioned event at Broken Chains.

There will not be a player's meeting, all the information you need is in this email.

ALL PLAYERS NEED TO CHECK-IN NEAR HOLE 1 FROM 8-8:40 AM. You will receive your players pack at check-in, choice of 1 item from the table. The first round will start at 9:10 am, be on your hole and ready to go. Your starting hole is listed on https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/53899

We will be using live scoring on pdga.com/score. Enter the code “broken” Please remember to make your scores official at the completion of your round by clicking on the “!” icon next to each players name and entering their PDGA number or last name. I will also have paper score cards available as a back up, you can also use Udisc as a backup if you would like. The PDGA live scoring is the official scorecard.

The ace pot is at $112, this will be paid via Paypal. If no aces are hit, the money will be donated to Broken Chains DGC. There is also a $50 bounty for any 2's on hole 2.

There is lots of OB on the course, every hole except #4 will have OB(ignore the stakes on hole 4). The OB is defined by the white stakes or yellow rope(hole 11 will have a painted hazard and no stakes). The high grass is very close to these stakes, but the actual line is the stake and not the cut grass. If it is too close to call whether you are OB, then you are considered inbounds. There are a few holes where the stakes do not begin until halfway up the fairway. If you are short of these stakes(90 degree angle from tee), then you are still inbounds.

1. Par 3, 262ft. OB: White stakes on left.
2. Par 4, 549ft. OB: White stakes on left, right, & surrounding green.
3. Par 3, 260ft. OB: White stakes on left, right, & surrounding green.
4. Par 3, 183ft. OB: None. Ignore the white stakes, no OB on this hole.
5. Par 4, 401ft. OB: White stakes on left and past basket, road on right.
6. Par 3, 319ft. OB: Road on left.
7. Par 3, 246ft. OB: Over the fence past the basket. (Llama pen)
8. Par 4, 471ft. OB: Road on right. MANDO: Must pass to the right of mando sign,
if missed - drop zone is flagged to the right of the MANDO.
9. Par 3, 391ft. OB: Starts at white stakes on right, ends at stake right of the basket.
OB turns 90 degrees right at last stake.
10. Par 3, 296ft. OB: Starts at white stakes on both sides. Left side OB ends at last stake.
Right side OB continues to infinity on the same line past the last stake
11. Par 3, 224ft. Island with Hazard: Must land in painted circle, if island is missed, play as
a hazard. Throw from current lie and add 1 stroke penalty.
12. Par 3, 343ft. OB: Stakes/Rope on left, White stakes on right and surrounding the basket,
connects to painted tree behind basket.
13. Par 3, 351ft. OB: Road on left, parking lot, pond.
14. Par 3, 311ft. OB: Pond
15. Par 4, 555ft. OB: Starts at white stakes on left and right. Left side ends at last wooden post.
Right side OB turns 90 degrees towards road at last stake.
16. Par 3, 236ft. OB: Pond. Proceed to drop zone right of pond.
17. Par 3, 281ft. OB: Blue flags surrounding creek.
18. Par 3, 275ft. OB: Pond, parking lot.

Will MA3 be playing the Rec/Ametuer scorecard and the Intermediate/Advanced play that scorecard?

Will the course par be the same for all divisions?

As of now the grass will be cut the day before to give a defined edge. If it's not clear and too close to call, then benefit will go to the player. Inbounds until proven OB, beyond a reasonable doubt. I'll post the full ground rules within the next couple weeks.
