About this tournament
Welcome to the 2023 Battle in the Blue Ridge. We're returning again for our 9th year, this time with a few exciting changes.
First of all, we're proud to announce that this year's tournament will be a B-Tier. A huge thanks to Starr Hill Brewery and our other sponsors including Ivy Rehab for elevating the tournament experience. Starr Hill will be hosting a players party Friday evening before the tournament.
Secondly, this tournament will take place over two courses in the Charlottesville area. The first round will be played at the brand-new Chris Greene Lake Disc Golf Course, opening on April 22nd (https://www.discgolfscene.com/tournaments/Chris_Greene_Lake_Opening_Day_2023). We can't wait to show off what this course has to offer to the disc golf community. Details on the course are listed below. The second round will take place at Walnut Creek. The layout played will be short-short (Par 54, 4,318ft).
This is a true amateur event; trophies only will be awarded to top finishers.
There is an optional $5 ace pot (and several holes that make for great ace runs!).
We hope you're able to join us for another fantastic year of the incredible disc golf the Charlottesville area has to offer. With a plethora of lodging and amazing food options, we hope you'll stick around a bit!
Fee Breakdown:
PDGA Player Fee: $3
Park Entry Fee: $6
About Chris Greene Lake Disc Golf Course:
This is a brand new course featuring 6'x12' turf teepads & MVP Black Hole Portal baskets. It is a par 60 course with approximately 6,500 feet of distance. It follows hilly terrain through a mix of heavily wooded, lightly wooded, and some open holes. It is a challenging course with tons of variety that will test your skill and creativity, no two holes are alike!
