My current PDGA is 851 and will drop during the April 28th update because I struggled at my recent competitions. Can I sign up for Novice now or do I need to wait for my rating to update?

Why is the entrance for MA4 higher than MA3?
Very interesting. I have never seen a tournament do that. I like it.
J Sherwood - what prevents a non-current player or non-PDGA member player from playing down to Novice to scoop up all the prizes?
Good question. I don't know that there can be anything put in place in advance but if a players rating coming out is substantially higher than the limits questions will be raised. I will have to discuss with my team to see what, if any ramifications this would have and/or the possible need for a disclaimer on day of tournament.
Go ahead and sign up as Novice now. Should not be a problem.
Thanks Jerry: And if somehow my rating stays above 850 but below 900 I can just switch to Rec. There is no way it stays up though...
Jerry: What will be the process with how few people are in Novice and Rec right now? We all have low enough rankings to be in Novice but at the same time most of the competition is in Rec. Just a curiousity question.
If Novice remains at just two and they want to play rec, we will allow that with the appropriate refund and addtion to players pack. Rec plays for Trophie only.
