About this tournament
We plan on changing the Lemmon Drop back to an early season/spring Lemmon Drop in 2023, this will be the last foreseeable late-season/fall Lemmon Drop in October. The major differences being having less sunlight, shorter days, and potentially colder conditions.
With all the factors that were presented to us for this coming Lemmon Drop, we are turning the difficulties into advantages, and expanding the possibilities for all players and trying new things that may open the doors for even more disc golf in future years.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
All players, for all events, will be getting to Hole 1 of the course by ski lift only; no ground transportation will be provided this year, and we ask that all players check-in on the upper deck.
As always, our top priorities are the safety and protection of all players, the course, and employees and residents in Ski Valley/Summerhaven. We will be closely following the guidance of the forest service, ski valley, PDGA, and local authorities. Tournament details can change due to any of these factors. Following all local fire regulations, during and after the round, is required for all players.
Important note: This course is set up and available ONLY during dates listed and all rounds/tee times will be booked in advance. No day of registration or walk ups will be available.
Our course this Fall will have a total of 6 days of 3 different disc golf formats over an 11-day period. All 3 of those formats will be booked ahead and with tee-times (no day of sign-ups or walk-ups) The 3 formats will be: LDP, Doubles, and the main Lemmon Drop Tournament.
As of January1, 2022, the PDGA requires that all players have current membership to be able to play all B-Tier events. If you want to play the main event, you must be a member and have your registration current to play this event. Doubles and LDP rounds do not require any membership to the PDGA.
LEMMON DROP PREVIEW/PRACTICE DAYS:
The LDP (Lemmon Drop Preview/Practice) can be played different ways by different groups of players. Players may choose to play any of the 18-holes from their Am or Pro positions, allowing for pre-tournament practice rounds, casual rounds, or a chance to play for players not able to make the tournament. Speed of play will be requested for any format, so that we avoid any backups.
LDP Days will also serve as a test to see if we could potentially set up a course multiple weeks or even months before/after future Lemmon Drop.
All the LDP days will require online registration and will be $100 per tee time. There will be 20 tee times per LDP day, and each tee time may have up to four players ($25 a player). One player from the tee time will book and pay for the spot, but we will need all players on the card (up to 3) to sign a waiver and give us basic contact info, before heading up the lift. Details and sign-up information and format t/b/a.
DOUBLES PLAY:
Doubles will be on Friday Oct. 14. Cost, format and sign-up t/b/a
TOURNAMENT PLAY:
Because weekday lift times start later than the weekend, in order to facilitate the most number of players and maintain an enjoyable experience, we have chosen to play the main PDGA event over two days. This course will be similar to last year's 18 holes course, with minor changes for safety and course flow.
The 16th Annual Lemmon Drop presented by Legacy Discs and Moon Smoke Shop will be held October 15th-16th on Mount Lemmon in Ski Valley, AZ will be 2 rounds of 18 holes and will again be a B-tier.

This event is recommended for only those players that are well prepared and can safely take on these physical challenges.
