On the cold and chilly morning of November 20, 2010, the Alaska Disc Golf Association hosted its tenth annual Frozen Turkey Tournament benefitting Bean’s Café. This event also marked the grand reopening of the Westchester Lagoon Disc Golf Course. Disc golfers from Anchorage, Kenai, and Homer brought two turkeys each to play in this annual tournament. Bean’s Café personnel were on hand to accept the more than 1,400 pounds of frozen turkey. In addition to the kind donation of turkeys, Play It Again Sports in Anchorage, AK provided monetary matching dollars to pounds donation. Many thanks go out to the players, Michael Baker Engineering, The Female Athlete and Play It Again sports for the kind support and donations to Bean’s Café.
