Round 1 shotgun start.
11:30am - 12:45pm
Lunch. Taco lunch will be included with your entry fee. You are welcome to bring your own food or go off-site as long as you are back in time for round 2.
1:00pm - 4:00pm
Round 2 shotgun start. Any first place playoffs will start immediately after round is finished.
4:30pm - 5:00pm
First place trophy presentations for all divisions and pro cash payouts.

About this tournament

Welcome to The Helix Open 2023, presented by Helix Disc Golf and supported by Innova Disc Golf. We will be playing at our beloved Palm Royale Country Club again this year. This will be a one-day PDGA C-Tier event with two rounds. Competitors will play two rounds on Saturday, September 16. 18-hole layout will be the same for both rounds (same traditional layout as used for the Cotton Memorial round 1 earlier this year).
This is a professional and amateur PDGA-sanctioned C-tier event and SoCal Disc Golf Club event. Non-PDGA members can play, but will be required to pay an additional $10 registration fee. A $5 registration fee also applies to non-SoCal club members. Professionals, females and juniors will be allowed to register one day earlier than the rest of the ams in order to encourage a more diverse field and keep registration a little less hectic. Amateurs will receive a player pack with 2 premium Innova tournament-stamped discs, an event pin, a custom Helix WhaleSac and Innova drawstring bag. Ams will be competing for trophies only, with at least 3 players required in a division to receive a 1st place trophy. Professional divisions will be competing for cash payouts—paid in cash at the event or via Paypal/Venmo if requested.
A taco lunch will be provided to all players in between rounds.
Tee sign sponsorships are available for all 18 holes. You can register early starting 7/7 with a hole sponsorship, it is an option on the registration page that you can select and pay as you register. Those not sponsoring a hole will not be able to register until open registration begins on July 13.
This course is walking only and it can be hot this time of year, so please plan accordingly. It is very disc golf cart friendly and caddies/spectators are welcome as long as they follow proper tournament etiquette. No dogs will be allowed on the course.

Refund policy
Helix Disc Golf is responsible for all refunds/cancellations. You must cancel by September 9 to receive a full refund. Any refunds after that subtract 10% of the registration fee, unless there is a replacement player on waitlist who claims your spot. Any day-of cancellations and no-shows will not be eligible for refund, but you will get your player pack if you signed up as an amateur. You'll have to pay for shipping or arrange for local pick-up.
