The Amateur Challenge at the DGPT Championship is back in Virginia for year #2! Players will get the chance to compete on some incredible courses across this three day event in the Lynchburg/Bedford area October 16-18. Below is all the information about the event:

Improvements for 2026
-Smaller pool sizes to ensure players can finish early enough to enjoy side events
-We will change the division order for tee times so players can watch the Powerball Cup at Ivy Hill
-The course schedule has been adjusted based on player feedback
-Course layouts and caddie guides will be released earlier than last year

Courses:
New London Tech DGC - Feature course of the 2026 and 2027 PDGA Champions Cup! As well as 2028 PDGA Pro and Masters Worlds! This Paul McBeth designed course is considered one of the most challenging on the pro circuit and is quickly rising the ranks of top courses int he world. Currently sitting #41 on the Udisc World Rankings.

Ivy Hill South - Formerly known as the Ivy Hill Spectator Course, this is the sister course to the Ivy Hill championship track being used by the DGPT Tour Championship in 2026 and was used for last years Tour Championship as well as the 2024 PDGA Pro Worlds. The South course features extreme elevation and plays along the front 9 of the Ivy Hill Golf Club ball golf course. This course is currently temporary but will become a permanent and featured course of 2028 PDGA Masters World Championships. Falling Creek - A staple in the Lynchburg/Bedford disc golf circuit, Falling Creek is a challenging but scorable course that will also be featured in the 2028 PDGA Masters World Championships! This well manicured track is a great compliment to the rugged terrain of Liberty East and New London.

Liberty East - Like all courses in the Lynchburg/Bedford area, this course has some elevation to deal with! This track runs right along the East side of Liberty University's campus and plays along the surrounding mountain landscape.

Hotel: The official host hotel will be the Bella Vista Hotel in Lynchburg. More information coming soon!

Practice Days:
Ivy Hill South (Spectator Course) will be set up and available for practice 10/15 and will require you to sign up for a practice tee time. More info coming soon.

All other courses are public and are available for practice anytime before the event but will be set in tournament conditions by the morning of 10/15 in line with PDGA A-Tier requirements.

Check-in: Player Check-in is required Thursday October 15th at Ivy Hill Golf Club in the Ledgestone Pro Shop.

AM Payout: While most of the entry fee will cover our amazing player's pack and the tournament experience, we will have an AM Payout on top of the player's pack! Vouchers will be redeemable at the Ledgestone Pro Shop or at shopledgestone.com after the event.

Amateur Challenge Players will have the ability to purchase discounted spectator tickets for the DGPT Championship during registration. Ledgestone is responsible for all refunds/cancellations.

Players who did the early registration but have to withdraw will still receive their hole sponsorship or three pack of fundraiser discs. Those items are non refundable as they were a condition for early registration. Those players will receive a refund minus $10 of their entry fee only.

September 15th is the last day to receive a full refund for the refund, minus the $10 processing fee, unless the event spot is filled from the waitlist.

Players requesting a refund between September 16th and October 1st receive a 50% refund unless the spot is immediately filled from someone on the current waitlist.

Players requesting a refund between October 2nd and October 13th at 7PM eastern time will receive a 25% refund, unless the event spot is filled from the waitlist.

Players requesting a refund after October 14th at 7PM eastern time, which is the published time for the close of registration, or players who do not check in, will not receive a refund or their players pack.

VIP passes and discounted spectator admission tickets are non refundable. Discs purchased through registration are non refundable and will be shipped after the event if a player drops.
