BCDC Tag Challenge Series (Non-PDGA Event)
We will be at Valley Springs for our next tag event. Come out for a warm up round for Big Valley Challenge the following weekend.
The winner of each division will receive their choice of either a Big Valley Challenge Sun Hoodie or Free Registration to the tournament. If you have already paid for either item, you will receive the equivalent value instead.
Layouts:
All Divisions will play 22 hole All Star layout.
Divisions and Event Entry Fees:
Pro / Open Division:
- Open to all players.
- Features higher entry fees and higher payouts.
- Mandatory Entry: Any player holding a tag ranked #20 or higher must compete in this division.
- Mandatory Entry: Any player who previously participated in the Series as an Amateur and Won their last event must move up to the Pro Division.
- Entry: $12
- Breakdown:
- $8 → Day-of payout
- $3 → Match Play tournament fund
- $1 → Ace pot
Am / Lower Division:
- Features lower entry fees and lower payouts.
- Eligibility: Open to any player with a tag ranked #21 or above, provided they did not Win in their most recent event as an Amateur.
- Entry: $8
- Breakdown:
- $4 → Day-of payout
- $3 → Match Play tournament fund
- $1 → Ace pot
Women’s Division:
- FPO players will compete for a distinct set of FPO-specific bag tags.
- Scores will also count toward the overall Amateur (AM) division tags, unless the player currently possesses an overall tag ranked #20 or higher, in which case their scores will be included with the Pro Division.
- Entry: $5
- Breakdown:
- $2 → Day-of payout
- $3 → Match Play tournament fund
- Free entry into the Ace pot
- Club adds $3 to payout per FPO player to the payoutThe Tag Challenge Series is the backbone of the season. These club-run events are designed to bring a large portion of bag tag holders together, similar to the Kickoff event.
Events are intended to be accessible and affordable, typically consisting of one (occasionally two) rounds at Durham and surrounding area courses. Three divisions will be offered, with day-of cash payouts.
- We are planning on having 12–16 events throughout the year
- All tags are collected at check-in and redistributed based on finishing order
- Ties for first in any divisions will be decided by playoff
- All other ties: payouts are split, and the lowest-numbered tag entering the event receives the lowest available tag
Bag tags will be collected by division and re-issued based on the results within that specific division at the end of each event.
2026 BCDC Match Play Championship (November)
The Bag Tag Series culminates with the inaugural BCDC Match Play Championship.
- Match play format
- Seeding based on tag standings at the end of the season
- Playing for prizes and cash
-Tag Series #1 Belt
- Year-long accumulated payout plus added cash
Eligibility Requirements for Entering the Match Play Championship
To be eligible to play in the MPC all players must:
- Are a 2026 BCDC tag holder
- Played at least 5 Tag Challenge Series events
-Sanctioned BCDC PDGA events count
-Casual tag rounds do not count
- Played in at least 2 different quarters
- Played at least one Tag Challenge in Q4
-Q4 requirement helps shake things up heading into Match Play
